  1. It blocks anyone who is nearby who has a scanner that can read the RFID chip without your permission. Tin foil works also, but it's so unattractive.
  2. Now you have me rethinking being on deck 12 on Symphony next Feb. I may have to move down closer to CP. Loving your blog!
  3. LIkely too early - I am sailing in Feb 2020 and almost nothing except shore excursions and drink packages are on there yet. I'm watching it daily, though. Stuff showed up about 7-8 months prior on my Navigator sailing (although it can really vary).
  4. @twangster. Is the AC/DC show still on the ship, or did they leave it down under?
  5. Well darn it - I'm completely out of range. But you take better photos and what a way to enjoy them, if it was possible!
  6. Hey, maybe you'll get to see the Northern Lights ? http://www.msn.com/en-us/weather/topstories/the-northern-lights-aka-aurora-borealis-could-be-coming-to-a-sky-near-you-this-week/ar-AABmuze?ocid=ientp
  7. Ok, I was watching you live scope going under the bridge. How did you do that and take such awesome photos at the same time?
  8. I watched your scope under the bridge - how fun! I'm stuck at work until 7am, so I'm watching the Ovation's progression on marinetraffic.com just thinking how unfortunate it is that you have to go through the San Juan Islands and Juan De Fuca Straight overnight - my favorite area of the world (but I guess it's just not possible to avoid it!). I never get enough of that area. When we retire out there I may just spend all of my time riding the ferries like a crazy old woman. I'll bring a dog. It'll be so much cooler that way.
  9. https://www.nbcnews.com/news/us-news/3-dead-3-missing-after-floatplanes-carrying-cruise-goers-collide-n1005246 According to the article, this company has a pretty unfortunate history. My heart goes out to the victims' families and friends.
  10. I believe that there's a group of Royal Caribbean Blog group cruisers who consistently win this game.
  11. When I disembarked Mariner in Terminal A the only interaction with any people I had were the people who stopped me in front of some sort of monitor, scanned my face, and then waved me along - they actually didn't even talk to me, ask for my passport or any ID. I was fairly sure I'd be tackled going out the door for missing customs or something, but I guess that's how Terminal A is now (i.e. really fast!).
  12. Only Oasis-class ships have Central Park balconies - Brilliance does not have any interior-facing balconies. When you go to book your cruise (or mock book it), each cabin type on each ship is pretty well described for you.
  13. Looking forward to watching sail away (hopefully!!) I'm sure it's going to happen just as I'm driving to work or just getting there.
  14. Interesting - when I had The Key in February there were no bracelets - just a key sticker on my sea pass card.
  15. The Royal App and Voom Internet are different things. You can use the Royal App without Voom. If you bought a Voom package for 4 devices, you will receive 4 different codes.
  16. We have room 1388 (corner aft) for our Dec cruise. It isn't a Jr suite (booo - couldn't talk the shipmates into that price), but we decided we'd love the extra balcony space. I'm looking forward to what your impressions of the impact of the Windjammer are for your location.
  17. I wouldn't pay more than $24.99 pppd for it (I've purchased it before - it's great, but there's a point where it just isn't worth it). Frankly I'd rather pay $20 pppd.
  18. I don't know about the Royal App, but if you paid for Voom for 4 devices, each device will get its own code to log in.
  19. They may not be on your calendar but check your "order history" section. I made reservations for Pixels, IFly, Northstar, My Time Dining with friends - none are in my calendar, but all of them show up correctly in the "order history" area (even though they are complimentary)
