  1. ...the artwork around the ship. Take a different staircase, visit a floor you wouldn't normally have to go to (the artwork is unique to each ship). ...an opportunity to connect with a crew member . Yes, they are busy, but many enjoy the opportunity to share with you something that they are interested in or love.
  2. If you like fried fish, this is highly recommended. The lines can be long...totally worth it. Portions are huge, so don't over order! https://www.redfish-bluefish.com/
  3. Victoria is beautiful and not to be missed - I don't recommend staying on the ship. I've never had a stay there that's lasted as long as on Ovation (we were on Ovation in June), and while we've been to Victoria before, this was the first time we had so much time to explore. We just walked off of the ship and went downtown, explored the shops, restaurants and bars - we even went to the Miniature Museum this time! If you have lovely weather (as we did, actually hot everywhere during our sailing) don't miss out on at least strolling through town!
  4. @monorailmedic posted a letter from his current sailing on Celebrity Equinox that they are doing the same, canceling their Nassau stop to make deliveries to Freeport. They are compensating their guests for the lost port day. I don't know what other lines are doing (and I'm fairly sure they are helping), but Royal Caribbean lines are certainly stepping up. I was proud to donate under their relief fund.
  5. According to one of the people who were on the ship they were told the ship was running out of food, so I assume they maybe couldn't have just stayed at sea? That's just a guess based on what he said he was told.
  6. This right here is what we miss most on the bigger ships - I LOVE this deck.
  7. Really? We boarded Ovation at 10:45 and I had a blast getting to know a few of the bartenders, visiting with other guests, exploring the ship, the entire afternoon. No way would I wait to get on the ship and start my vacay!
  8. Enjoy your extra time!!!!
  9. Which is why I love it so much out there! Can NOT wait to retire out across the Sound.
  10. Agreed - when we got to the Port of Seattle, they checked us in when we walked in we were told to go up the elevator, where we scanned our luggage. There were people milling around the waiting area, but someone pointed us onto the gangway - we waited nowhere. We were Gold Status, we didn't have The Key, we weren't in a suite. We were about as steerage as one could get. So there was no rhyme or reason in Seattle.
  11. Times can go fast once they are released. I join Facebook groups for my particular sailings - with so many eyes, someone will usually spot them appearing on the cruise planner and post it - I've done the same for others - it's handy (if you're a FB user).
  12. I've seen them come out about 45 days prior to sailing.
  13. I'm on the Symphony sailing right before yours, and they have only released 2 dining option for ours, too. It's frustrating as hell (considering my Oct 2020 has had all dining options open for the last 6 months). But, it is what it is. I just keep checking every day.
  14. Why would you be so concerned where someone else spends their money? I can see why you wouldn't want to do it, but why plea for someone else not to? How could it possibly affect you? I got it for last Feb's Mariner cruise. 4-day cruise, $19.99/day. If I eliminate what I would have paid for Voom, used my $25 OBC toward it, I basically paid $5-10 total for the rest of the perks (ummm....a nice embarkation day lunch?). I enjoyed having my carry on waiting in my room when I finally had access to it. Would I personally do it on every cruise? Certainly not. But it's a fine deal on short sailings if it can be snagged at the lower prices.
  15. Have a fabulous time on your cruise - Ovation is beautiful, Seattle is fun - you're going to have a great time no matter what!
  16. I did not. We had an ample supply of clothing (too ample, lol).
  17. They will usually reroute the cruise around the hurricane - itineraries (full or part) may change.
  18. It was offered on my Ovation sailing the 3rd week of June. It's not in the Cruise Planner - they will give you a flyer and a bag a few days into the cruise. If you're not sure, just ask your stateroom attendant.
  19. Ok. The other person said they didn't, so I assumed they were still using Royal IQ. In either case, app or online, it worked fine for me.
  20. No, Anthem, like Ovation, still uses Royal IQ. That one I did upload online instead of an app. Still worked fine (for me, still could be a fluke).
  21. If you are on a ship that allows check in on the new app you can upload it directly from your cell phone onto the app without moving it to a different device. So far I've been successful with my own photos 100% of the time (ok, that's only twice, lol)
  22. Ok. She's trained well on everything else. Wasn't aware that you could train a horse, or any other animal, to eat or drink if they are not hungry/thirsty/food motivated. And I've trained everything from horses/dogs/otters/leopards/non-human primates/tapirs/birds of all kinds. Learn something new every day.
  23. Yeah, you still can't make them. Horses never read the rules (spoken by someone who has been delayed a LONG time because stubborn mare refused to drink, even though I led her to water.)
  24. I'm fine with it, but my Borzoi is slightly insulted. LOL
