  1. I'm not sure booking policy would allow the girls to be booked officially be in their own room as minors unless it was adjacent or relatively near to the other room. However, you can go to Guest Services and get extra keys made and they won't bat an eye or even question it.
  2. As soon as you know, you notify your insurance company and you can extend your coverage date. We had to do this with a hurricane-delayed cruise (adjusted the start date to be later once we booked new flights). You are purchasing coverage for the trip and you get coverage from the second you leave your house until when you return home. If this is extended for whatever reasons (quarantine, needing medical coverage away from home and being hospitalized, travel delays, etc.) then your coverage gets extended. Example of policy language:
  3. I don't have a cruise until June, but I feel cruising is a safer risk than flying. That being said, flying to NJ this weekend AND going to Disney when I come back. #stillgoing ?
  4. As long as you both are traveling on the new reservation then both of the FCCs should be able to be used even if the amounts don't line up exactly with the per person breakdown on the new reservation. At least this is my understanding of how it works.
  5. Totally agree with what @JLMoran stated. Use the day you leave your house as the trip start date and the day you expect to return home as your end date. This will cover the entire length of your trip and allow for coverage if something happens that requires an extension. If you only put the end date as the end of the cruise then your flight home isn't covered. As for trip costs, include the costs of everything. A couple hundred dollars in total trip cost won't amount to much when it comes to the insurance premium. This amount is what substantiates your policy limits for coverage and some of the coverages will only pay up to that limit. Consider there may be extra costs if you get stick somewhere and have to pay to extend your stay or travel home on a different, last minute flight for any reason. Including the hotel and travel expense to/from the cruise will help give you the higher claim limit. Also remember this is only an ESTIMATE that you provide to the insurance company. When I had to file a claim, my first step was substantiating our coverage amount with actual receipts and proof of payment for the entire trip. Then from there I had to provide the proof of the loss to actually make the claim.
  6. They also state over and over again that the FCC has to be used for a new booking. Well technically you have to put this deposit down to create a booking to apply the FCC..and then there's no definition of what a "new booking" is and this leaves it so you can apply your FCC to anything that still needs a payment.
  7. It's still the same. You have to have an existing booking to apply a FCC to it. In order to create the booking the deposit has to be put up so effectively the FCC can't really be used towards a deposit. If you are booking past final payment, you can go back and have them refund you with the FCC if you want to take the time to have them do that.
  8. As long as you maintain the same reservation number, the cruise planner purchases will stay. If it's a cancel and rebook type of situation you will lose the cruise planner purchases. Typically an upgrade keeps the same reservation number and won't affect your purchases.
  9. You can't use the drink packages with room service unfortunately.
  10. I have read comments on other sites from those who were denied and also those who were successful, so there's a chance!
  11. Ahhh..I don't have much familiarity with Canadian insurance practices. I know my annual policy specifically excludes I know different countries have different levels of consumer protection, though. My policy does have coverage for quarantines, however.
  12. ? I only wish I had the time off to take advantage the cheaper last minute pricing.
  13. What are you trying to claim under with your travel insurance? You deciding not to go isn't typically a covered reason unless you have Cancel For Any Reason coverage on your policy.
  14. Vancouver does have a weird system where they funnel vehicles inside the terminal..I know it was quite the orderly system for the taxis. The taxis dropped off and then got routed to the pickup lines. I didn't see any personal drop off or private passenger shuttles dropping off in that area, so there may be some truth in what he is telling you.
  15. Under normal circumstances you would lose that $100. Perhaps that's what Priceline meant and they haven't updated all their agents towards the new temporary policy.
  16. I can vouch for Stephanie as well! She even handles my family's business when she's on a cruise herself. Plus she's fun to sail with!
  17. I have read of folks having success arguing this if they can get a doctor's note that they are no longer fit for this kind of travel and won't be by the time the FCC would expire. I think folks that are expecting travel insurance to kick in if they self-cancel are going to be surprised that the new Cruise with Confidence policy may affect any cash payout they thought they deserved from their insurance coverage. From the side of the insurance company they feel a credit equivalence is making someone whole.
  18. I also work in insurance..need to see the full policy language including the declaration page to determine the coverage amounts and if this falls under any exclusion. With how I read that quoted language, this does not constitute a diversion that would be covered as it's outlining specific reasons that they would cover it. Diverting an entire ship due to coronavirus concernd is not a medical incident. Definitely also consult the policy definitiond page and see if they more clearly define medical incident.
  19. Priceline serves as your Travel Agent so they might have different rules with respect to a deposit through them. With Royal the most that you would lose on your deposit would be $100 per person, and that would only be if you booked a non-refundable rate.
  20. It is my understanding that Costco just serves as your travel agent. You can rebook your cruise with whoever you like. The FCC will be issued in your name and you can choose to apply it a cruise you book with anyone. You should get an email with the FCC number on it and the amount once it has been processed.
  21. They can print them for you at the port if needed.
  22. If you are upgrading then all the cruise planner purchases will go with you. If you are canceling and rebooking, then they won't.
  23. I hope it works out for you. Just remember if you get a denial at first you can always appeal. Because Royal is offering the future cruise credit, sometimes the insurance companies will try to use that to not not pay out the claim.
  24. Port fees should be automatic but you never know with Royal..and the double points should take a phone call to C&A if it isn't done automatically. You can also probably legit cancel the other person after final payment with no issues and get the port fees right away refunded..can't imagine that would mess anything up if you're already in a 2 person occupancy room anyways. But you never know with Royal.
  25. Sometimes when you put single down it is bringing up studio rooms as an option and those can be a higher price. It's usually better to just book for 2 and intentionally no-show. You just have to front the extra port fees for the extra person til after the cruise.
