We gifted cruises to different family members one year. We left cards under their trees with a map of the itinerary, flight information, etc...

In July of 2017 we were on Oasis with some friends and decided to book Symphony for December 8 (just over a week away).  We did at Next Cruise, both parties booked a balcony, rooms next to each other but different reservation.  In the last few months we have done the typical reservations for entertainment etc., all was good.  A few days ago we had to drop my wife from reservation due to a new job, but my self, and son(7) were still going as well as 2 other cabins of friends on different reservations.  After they dropped my wife, I verified all our reservations, excursions, and all was good.  I did online checkin with me and my son, and printed tags and passes.
This morning I log on to reserve hibachi for the 6 of us, but my cruise doesn't show up.  I wasn't worried, figured it was a glitch, but shot my TA an email anyway.  He responds that Royal canceled our entire reservation some time late yesterday or early this morning!  Thankfully John at MEI travel has been working on it hard today, but the original room is gone.  They had us on deck 3 from a while, and now deck 14, but the rest of our group is on 9.  It is so frustrating because with my wife not joining us, I was counting on our friends helping with our son a little bit so I could go on a morning run etc.  Plus just the logistics of us being spread across the ship and keeping in touch.  Is much easier when you are next door and a couple doors down.  
I just don't see how this can happen, especially since I was checked in, and everything was set to go.  I received notification when my wife was dropped from reservation, but not that it was later canceled.  Anyone have any connections with management that I can complain to?  I am just thankful we have a TA to deal with this, but doubt anyone at RC really cares how this changes the logistics for our party on this cruise.  
Thanks guys, just needed to vent to people who will understand my frustration.

It was free for suite guests on the Allure, and we really loved not having to deal with the luggage that morning - any idea if it’s the same on other smaller ships like the Grandeur or Adventure?

That was part of the issue -  it would have helped a lot if I had just not known ( and I don’t believe that the poster meant to cause a create a problem).
But hopefully most people can understand it was less about money and more about feeling guilty. At least that was part of what I needed, just for somebody to understand and maybe make me feel better. I have no doubt your intent was to help ?  
I had crossed my fingers when I posted that I wouldn’t get any of those post that basically said “you’re stupid for feeling this way” and I am thankful there was little of that and way more hugs! ❤️

 do really appreciate all of you trying to walk me back from the ledge or genade cabinet (just kidding on the second, I don’t really have one ?). I felt so guilty that I had made such a rotten decision,  it’s a truly miserable feeling ☹️ I did understand it was a holiday, but you also have to remember that I thought it was still a super good buy for a holiday, and now I realize it was not. 
The points are all valid, and I really didn’t think this morning  about those two weeks at the first of December always being really low -  but it was still really painful for it to be double ( and I’m sure any of you would probably feel the same as saying those numbers ?). 
I am going to kick in my inner @lovetocruise2002 and watch those prices like someone possessed (my her that is lol).

Thanks! I really do appreciate people trying to help me feel better. ?  I think that it was worse becsuse (a) ours was exactly 2x the cost and (b) I had just realized last night, after recently booking a second RCL cruise for next year, that only a handful of RCL ships offer Voom free to suite guests (when that is part of my calculation on “fair price”).  Double whammy after insomnia! And before anyone decides to suggest that I am an idiot, truthfully it is often quite unclear which benefits are offered on suites on a given ship (otherwise blogs like this wouldn’t exist - there are constant questions on all boards that are cruise related about these kinds of details as the official information is unclear and the web info often has huge discrepancies).  That combo did not bring out my cheeriest self. But again, for those offering understanding and kind perspective I am honestly appreciative!  ?

I was aiming for slightly under that ??‍♀️ , but (a) my Scorpio Mother was on top of everything so I find it a nice trait and (b) if you knew what I do for a living you would truly fall over in fits of laughter ? I cannot find the time to obsess, but maybe I could managed to make you into an app?! ??

Good point! But let’s hope that no one sees me doing all this nose wiggling and headed bobbing with my closed eyes (particularly if I have on a chiffon crop top and a pointy hat) since I am quite sure that I wiil never get released if I am ever locked in (it also would not be good for my career status ??‍♀️??‍♀️??‍♀️

What @melski94 said - I ran the cruise booked yesterday through since they now have the “Cyber Monday” splash up and it is the same price. I am somehow going to try to be more vigilant in checking (trying now to see if I can bookmark and that be useful, although I assume most is on the fly...). I will never get to the level of @Lovetocruise2002 , but I can improve ??‍♀️

Yes.  You can still re-price if the cabin is gone.  Basically, if I am booked in a suite, I track all suite prices from JS and above.  If any of the suite prices drop, I call and check on my "sold out" suite category for a similar drop.  I have gotten money back several times this way (as long as you are outside of final payment).

I have to say the Voom has been a major player in our decision to lean more heavily RCL than NCL. We don’t like the “Royal” Suite class, to handsy and syrupy for us and so we much prefer the Haven, but the internet service on RCL is faster and given to each suite guest for one device (not some shared minutes) is a major sway factor.  Being able to call and text one another on the ship is pretty crucial on these mega liners! Voom rocks.

Oh, I know that overall there's very little to be worried about. But that hotel manager was so insistent with us not to leave our luggage in the car while visiting the memorial that we didn't want to chance it. He gave us quite a story of how there is always a group of locals watching out for rental cars in the parking lot, and how they all carried "slim jims" to pop the truck and steal all the luggage and belongings without the renter being aware it had happened. It was only day 3 of our honeymoon, we were newlyweds, mid-20s, and not yet experienced enough in life to feel like we could consider ignoring the person.
That was the only negative experience of our two weeks there. Everything else was absolutely wonderful (well, except for being terrified while biking the whole way down Mount Haleakala!), and we couldn't have asked for a better honeymoon.
