  1. For our Alaska sailing, we have the 5 night dining package. Regardless of where we eat, save Windjammer, we will be wearing jeans or Khakis. We will be doing a lot of fishing and as such, would rather pack for fishing excursion weather and not formal night. Weather boots and layered clothing will take a lot of room in our suit cases, already. I agree with @MikeK, "don't worry what the others are wearing." As long as your comfortable. Heck, you will probably not see these people the following week ever again, and really, will you remember what your fellow cruise passengers wore at lunch, let alone the day before? Don't worry, be happy. ?
  2. We are 369 days our from our Alaska southbound and I've already made my Izumi rezis on Radiance, FWIW.
  3. @KJ1231 What time of day did you go in and did you have trouble finding a place to sit? I would think it would be quite busy.
  4. @twangstergood thoughts. We will be flying into ANC on Tuesday to do more fishing in the area as our own pre-cruise itinerary. Will be taking the morning train to Seward on Friday. Looks like muster was at 5:45pm. I think I'll remain in a holding pattern with the 6:30. Couldn't stand it! Changed it to 7:00pm. Will hang in CL nosh and drink (minimally, of course) until our Izumi rezi. My poor cruise planner calendar has taken a beating, lately!?
  5. @carlosalonsorA direct competitor of RCCL bought it, namely Carnival. I doubt anything will come of it, especially since the train offerings are still on the cruise planner and therefore would be honored by RCCL for late arrivals back to port, etc. But, I wonder how long the price currently offered on the cruise planner will stay what it is (for non Carnival passengers).
  6. @twangster Do you think changing it to 6:30pm is enough time? What if they call the muster drill at 6:30? Will they hold that rezi or is it gone? Just looked at the Cruise Compass you referenced. Interesting that they would even have 5:30 and 6:00 pm booking available.
  7. I am definitely looking forward to this as getting to Texas from Missouri is a breeze! And! An Oasis class ship, no less! Woot!
  8. What time was your muster drill? We have reservations for Izumi at 530 pm. I'm wondering how they're going to make that work.
  9. In Juneau, we are flying out on a sea plane to go fly fishing. When we get back we are going to take the tram to the top of Mt. Robert's. I'm really looking forward to Juneau. It's Skagway that's bumming me out. Can't figure out what to do there. Not interested in sled-dog racing or GASP! the train. Since Carnival Cruise Line bought the Skagway line, I wouldn't know what to expect. Probably nothing, but. . . Maybe just walking around port and finding some good local food.
  10. Yep, I'd book it because if you wait for the sale on board, you probably won't get the time (and price) you had hoped for. Heck, book it now and who know, perhaps a sale will appear on the cruise planner. ?
  11. I have a cruises for July 2019 (365 days from now) and Dec 2019 (500+ days from now). I've already booked our beverage packages (10 and 20 percent off onboard prices is what they're currently offering). If the price drops, I'll cancel and re-book. Same goes for shore excursions and dining for our July 2019 sailing. Scheduled those back in March or April!
  12. @twangster @L454S Any idea if we can grab water and sodas from the CL outside of the happy hour?
  13. Curious. We have a very port intensive cruise coming in July 2019 Alaska Southbound. The fact that we will not be on boat as much as a Caribbean cruise and the fact that we are staying in a Grand Suite are the two main reasons we have not purchased a drink package. I understand that i the concierge lounge there will be an "open bar", as it were, from 4:30 ish to 8:30 ish pm. Outside of those times, will we be able to go the lounge and pickup non-alcoholic beverages? Will there be snacks offered throughout the day (drop-in between excursions)?
  14. In Missouri (and I'm sure other states), the highway patrol puts tow notice stickers on "dead" cars on the highway shoulder if they've been there say over 24 hrs or so. I'd like to have an equivalent system for pool decks. First and only notice attached with it's own clip (or use the occupants own clip) that says if you are not back in this lounger to turn in the slip and it's clip to the ticket dude in 45 minutes, he/she/it will remove your items to the deck lost and found pile and all unclaimed items by debarkation will be given away to port charities.
  15. Just went to RCCL.com to check on current booking prices. Primed for Adventure Sale is up. Booking prices are down a tad after applying discounts and credits (not OBC). My July 2019 Southbound Alaska Grand Suite went down by a whopping $8. My Dec 2019 Holiday Cruise to Easter Caribbean Junior Suite is still higher than when I booked about two weeks ago. It has a flash sale credit on it, but pricing was still better 2 weeks ago. As @Matt says, "Your mileage may vary." <- yes, I'm an Oxford quote kinda gal.
  16. Because anybody can buy a domain and name it just about anything they want.
  17. All the more reason to purchase waaaay before sailing on the cruise planner. The price increase sucks across the board, no doubt. BUT! If you want those drink packages, now is the time to make the purchase.
  18. May the road rise beneath you. May the wind be always at your back. . .
  19. Just like" vote early and vote often," I book early and book often WITH A TRAVEL AGENT. . . rinse and repeat. That's the nice thing about RCCL versus Disney, is that you can do that. Since prices are not necessarily on a linear upward slant (hello specials/sales), like they are with Disney (rarely a sale or special unless you live in Florida, Canada, or Timbuktu), we actually have the opportunity to re-book, not only the cruise itself, but port excursions, spa appointments, and specialty dining. Definitely not on option on the all-inclusive, whether you want it or not, pay through the nose, Disney Cruise Line. Don't get me wrong, we last sailed concierge with Disney just 3 weeks ago and loved it. But man, it wasn't worth the price because we didn't do or use everything little thing we paid for in the "all-inclusive" Disney price. So yes, book early! And book/re-book often because you can! And yes, I check RCCL throughout the week. . . because it's like I take a mental cruise every time I log on. . . and it has paid off! ?
  20. Ve hov vays of making you talk. . . Let's start with Sabor. . . ?
  21. @Matt Is this calendar that you are referring to, is it available for anyone to look at? Where can we find these dates?
  22. Thank you @princevaliantus. It's. So. Long. Away........................... ugh........................
  23. Anybody have any ideas or speculation when the rest of 2020 will be released?
  24. I have cancelled and re-booked a couple of shore excursions. I used a different credit card to rebook. Any idea how long it takes RCCL to refund back to the initial credit card. I did all this 4 days ago (on a Sunday). The re-booking charges have already appeared on my CC website, but the cancelled excursions have not appeared (as refund) on the old CC.
