Some website 'test' sailings up for next weeks release: Serenade - Tampa Voyager - San Juan Allure - Galveston Harmony - Orlando Symphony - Miami
-
P&O (the local cruise line) are planning a June restart. We'll know in few weeks if the cruise ban due to expire 17-March is extended or not. I think they already know something and that the ban will be lifted in June, because why cancel until 19-June if the ban was going to expire 17-March? Doesn't make sense. Obviously if it does resume, it will be within Australia itineraries, and only Australian citizens. No one can get in anyway, so that is kind of irrelevant to begin with. Royal aren't due do have any ships here until end October even without COVID in the picture, that's just the normal schedule. Vaccine rollout will be completed by then. They have already modified the 21-22 season to have less cruises visiting foreign ports.

Short Caribbean sailings announced

What's the go with Navigator? Thought it would be on the short sailings list. Must be doing 7 nighters. -
Canada: Negative test at land borders too
mattymay replied to Lovetocruise2002's topic in Royal Caribbean News and Rumors
We're all at different stages. We were locked in our houses for 111 days straight last year, other than one person allowed to go to supermarket once per day for food, and one hour outdoor exercise per day. Fast forward 6 months and life is pretty normal here now except for international travel. The world will eventually get there it's just gonna take time for those countries with larger populations. -
The new 2021-22 itineraries are already a lot more focused on 'within Australia' cruising than usual. Obviously RC is not due to have a ship here until October, but P&O are planning an April restart (Princess ships are in Singapore being refurbed and rebranded as we speak), so lets see what happens with that. Maybe RC will send a ship early?

NOT A Good Sign People !!
mattymay replied to princevaliantus's topic in Royal Caribbean News and Rumors
Man, there are a lot of rusty ships out there at the moment, many could do with a dry dock and a fresh coat of paint! I'm just happy I got my Mardi Gras money back. Wonder of the Seas inaugural here we come (provided covid doesn't affect travel in 2022). -
Planning for a future cruise (fingers crossed), but was wondering what is the easiest way to get from Port Canaveral to Orlando International Airport after disembarking? Do RC offer a shuttle service? Do Uber/Lyft operate from there? Any advise would be helpful, only familiar with Miami and Fort Lauderdale.

Why can't they just do test cruises?
mattymay replied to Davife's topic in Royal Caribbean News and Rumors
Almost impossible to plan a non-cruise holiday here in Australia, as soon as a few cases (I'm talking about less than 5) of community spread are detected in one state all the other states close their borders to that state. Some unlucky people who are in airplanes at the time then get a nice surprise when they land and have to enter quarantine. I expect this to continue until the vaccine has been widely distributed. On new years day Victoria closed it's borders at midnight to New South Wales. There were 7 hour wait times at the border with Victorians trying to return home from NSW before it closed. If you didn't make the deadline you were turned away. I believe a few weeks later there were still some people that couldn't get home. -

I would like to see something like this in the South Pacific as well. Mix it up a bit. -

Sure, if you could first ask them to lower the AUD price! This happens ALL the time. I would love to know the reasoning behind it??? I understand taxes and fees are included in AUD price but it's still way off. -

Given the case numbers, you'd have to think it's not happening.

Pre cruise cart loaded, pay off or not?
mattymay replied to RCIfan1912's topic in Royal Caribbean Discussion
Sounds like you probably had the Black Friday / Cyber Monday prices in your cart. -
It's a tickbox further on towards the end of the booking process now. Maybe they hope people wont see it.

I'm not sure how you get the original $4898, when I do a mock booking it is $8100 to start with. But given you can reproduce the issue, they should at least refund your deposit.

Did Carnival just pull the plug for March 2021?
mattymay replied to Frank Brealin's topic in Royal Caribbean News and Rumors
Shout out to Carnival who just let me cancel our Mardi Gras sailing without penalty, full refund even though it's not on the list of cancelled itineraries yet. Will be putting that money aside for Wonder or Odyssey.
