  1. I grab the first froufrou drink i can and take a picture of me with it! Then i grab food at the windjammer and wander the pool deck enjoying the warmth and sun that doesnt exist in snowy illinois! Have a great trip! Jane
  2. Ok...i obviously figured out this before...but how do i change my signature to add a cruise? And i know specifically i was told this before (too lazy to try and search)...how do i add a picture to my profile by compressing it? The M needs to be a pic lol! Jane
  3. I tried and got my husband. He was a new royal! Gotta go for it...anything helps! Jane
  4. As always i love your words and writing, and your pictures are amazing. For those of us who can only cruise a limited amount, your blogs provide us with mini cruises that brighten our days. Thanks so much! Jane
  5. Thanks! Im all over trying somethimg not chainish (though i gotta say senor frogs in cozumel was overpriced but very fun!). Jane
  6. I was able to get the 25 applied a couple weeks before we boarded. I had my travel agent call crown and anchor but im sure you can do it directly. Jane
  7. Im going on my first trip to europe...viking river cruise out of paris...this summer but will be back on royal for a 2019 mediterranean/greek isle cruise on vision. That was a total impulse trip and i didnt even check another line. While vision is older, it was my first ship in 2015 and i loved it. The itinerary of 8 ports and 4 sea days was a nice combo of relax and tour and i cant wait. Ive never considered the air pkg through royal because i heard it was always more pricey but now i will at least check it before i buy. Jane
  8. Can you take an already opened bottle to the mdr and not pay the corkage? Just wondering if it's the opening at mdr or having/ storing the bottle. Jane
  9. I'm giving up even trying with flights lol...I watched for over a week and my flight to Paris didn't budge. I buy and the next day they drop 60 a ticket. I'm cursed! Jane
  10. I absolutely will...we go the end of March. Is there anything we really should hit in the afternoon for a couple hours? Any convenient great little cafes or shops? I wanted to go out to "hell" but couldn't get the family to agree! Jane
  11. I went back and looked and all i know is that it is called dolphin swim and stingray city, but royal doesn't list who is operating it. We do dolphins and then take a boat to the stingrays. The whole trip is 800am to 1230am. You have reassured me on the stingrays. My daughter and I did a great dolphin swim in cozumel, so we are going so my husband can get up close to a dolphin. If we don't do a lot there, thats ok. I had wanted to see sea turtles, but the dolphins won! Jane
  12. Coco cay was cancelled for us in late march. It turned out to be ok as the captain sped up and got us into much warmer weather. Im still disappointed we didnt get to go. Anyway, april potentially could bring a cancelled trip but hopefully not! Jane
  13. We are doing the royal excursion with the dolphins and then stingray city. Question for you...with a gazillion ships in port, can you still enjoy the sting rays or are tgere just way too many people? Jane
  14. I didn't know that... interesting! And yes... teens are 13 to 17...18 year olds are adults in theory! Jane
  15. My favorite band ever lol! Now I can just remember what it was like to have my iPod playing d2 while laying on my chair by the freedom sky bar! Only 60 days..... Jane
  16. I will be very curious to see what you find. I am cruising the week before Joe and I did the same thing... got excited for the teen stuff and then realized my 15 year old couldn't do any of them. This just seems ridiculous! Jane
  17. I pretty much plan other friends Disney trips... it's my way of going when I can't go! Jane
  18. Can't wait to see it too! We are booked at nachi in March on a day with tons of ships. Looking forward to the limited crowds and warm weather! Jane
  19. I bought cancel for any reason through allianz when we booked summer just in case of hurricanes where we couldn't fly into Puerto Rico or the weather just looked awful and we wouldn't want to go. It was more expensive but not a ton. I thought it was 100% refund but I could be wrong. I would totally advise speaking to a travel agent if you have one you know. They deal with this stuff all the time. Jane
  20. Hardest part of vacation! Leaving the baby behind! I swear I miss the dog more than the kid's! Jane
  21. We have traveled like crazy with the kids. We have gone to Disney a gazillion times (obsession #1) and done at least one huge national park trip each year. Had I started cruising pre 2015 (obsession #2) I'm sure we would have taken the kids and loved it. I think you travel young and when you have kids you change your expectations and keep traveling! Can't wait to take my 16 year old to the Mediterranean in 2019 and take my first Europe trip without get in 2017! You find the money and time that works for for family! Jane
  22. I started the thread sabrina mentioned. I will say that vision was my first cruise in 2015 and I loved it. The restaurants were fabulous and the service wonderful (best wait staff of 2 cruises so far). I was concerned in booking it a second time I would get bored (would love to try another class ship like jewel). However, we booked a room that I never could have afforded on an oasis class and I think sabrina is right in that the destination is key here, not the ship. The 8 of 12 port days are pretty much 7 to 7 everyday...I won't be missing water slides or bumper cars! Jane
  23. We will definitely do a couple days in Barcelona first! It will likely be the only time I visit spain. Jane
  24. We just couldn't justify the extra 2000 for the balcony, but for 600 we got the ultra spacious ocean view with 2 bathrooms and a tub, and a separate bunk bed room for my then 16 year old. Our itinerary is med/Greek isles (Barcelona, Cannes, Rome, Florence, mykenos, Santorini, athens and Malta, with 4 cruise days). I'm so excited I will have to remind myself that 1. It's not till 2019 2. I have to figure out how to pay for it and 3. I have my first visit to Europe (Paris) and a Viking river cruise on the swine to enjoy first! Jane
