I  visited Nachi Cocom last summer and loved it. The best part was that we were in port on Empress with two other Carnival ships and the place felt empty. We will visit Cozumel again on January 9, but will be one of the last ships to dock (Brilliance)...here is what will be in port that day.

Cozumel 9 Jan 2018 Brilliance Of The Seas Royal Caribbean 1000-1930
Cozumel 9 Jan 2018 Liberty Of The Seas Royal Caribbean 07:00 - 16:00
    Cozumel 9 Jan 2018 Carnival Breeze Carnival Cruise Line 08:00 - 18:00
    Cozumel 9 Jan 2018 Carnival Paradise Carnival Cruise Line 10:00 - 20:00
    Cozumel 9 Jan 2018 Carnival Splendor Carnival Cruise Line 08:00 - 17:00
    Cozumel 9 Jan 2018 Disney Magic Disney Cruise Line 07:00 - 16:00
    Cozumel 9 Jan 2018 Norwegian Pearl Norwegian Cruise Line 08:00 - 17:00

I've seen videos of the place being taken over by passengers from other ships, and am thinking that may be the case especially with three Carnival ships and Liberty in port. If the ship clears quickly, and we can get off the ship, I am thinking we may be able to get to Nachi by 11, but I am not sure. Does anyone have any thoughts? Thanks

How do you know what other ships will be in port when you are there??  I'd like to know for my cruise in September.  Thanks!

I feel everyone's pain, I've got such a long wait between cruises.  I'm at least 17 days from the single digit dance.

I'm 149 days out from my next one and the one after that is 443 days away!  UGH.  Can't cruise nearly as much as I want either due to W-O-R-K.

We will be going on Royal Caribbean for the first in November for our 35th anniversary. We will be on Liberty of the Seas. Any suggestions on things to do? We will be going to Roztan, Costa Maya and Cozumel (we have been to this port before). Thanks.

Again another newbie to RCL question. Are drink packages worth it? I had read that only coffee, juice and milk are available in the mornings and iced tea is added in afternoons. Being diabetic, I wonder if I need a soda package for diet drinks. Thanks for any advice.

Welcome!  See attached...it's says it is for Harmony of the Seas but the info is the same across the fleet. Answers many of your questions.  Enjoy!

Hey you!! Didn't you just come back from one? or am I dreaming? Don't be jealous, this is a short one, 5 nights to Bermuda but it is SOOOO necessary! Say a silent prayer it's smooth sailing as it's hubby's first!:9_innocent:

I wish I just come back from one!  No, my family went mid-March on the Oasis.  We had to cancel because I was laid off last year.

Prayers for smooth sailing!  I've never been to Bermuda, would love to go someday.

  6. This was posted somewhere on Cruise Critic.  Not sure where it came from but it's awesome!!

It's drink packages explained and for those that "already know this stuff" it's noted that any changes to the RCCL Drink policies are noted in red in the article.  This document ALSO contains Harmony's Bar Menu and Drink Listing WITH prices!!

LAST BUT NOT LEAST...the last 4 pages documents the names of special drinks and how they are made so you can make them at home for yourself OR you will know what to order on your next cruise.  I love this pdf and wanted to share with you all.  Enjoy!!!

@Lindsay You can rent a scooter from Scootaround.  My husband has back/hip issues and we are sailing in 30 days (WOO HOO!) and will be renting one.  They deliver to your stateroom.  I bet you can have Mom take the scooter off the ship.  We are going to Bermuda, but will be on your Mom's itinerary in January, so if issues haven't resolved will rent one there too.  We are paying $245.00 for 5 nights. They are very helpful. Hope this helps!

Thanks for the info!  And I am SO SUPER JEALOUS that you are sailing in 30 days!!!!!!

We’re sailing on our first RC cruise in May. We purchased the drink package and want to try recommended favorite drinks from those more RC experienced. What is your favorite drink and what bar typically serves it?

Someone posted PDF about Drink Packages and ALL of the drinks and how they are made recently.  I don't remember who that was but maybe someone else does and can send you the link.  I printed it and it's at home in my cruise file.

Were sailing on Harmony on April 21st and I was curious if the ports in San Juan and Phillipsburg were close enough to the city where we would be able to walk around or to a beach for the day while there. Were kind of on a tight budget so I'm trying to avoid an excursion since we spent a little more money then we had planned to go in April over October and on Harmony vs Allure or Oasis. If they are does anyone have any recommendations for things to do at these destinations? I know were only in San Juan until 2pm I believe.

I can't recommend anything for Phillipsburg (other than excursions) since we did the excursion to Nevis (so awesome) on one cruise and the swimming with the dolphins on another cruise (what an experience!)

BUT...for San Juan, we've been there many times.  Yes, it's a short stop but plenty to do in Old San Juan which is literally right across the street from the ship's pier.  The fort is right there too.  Pretty cool to walk around and it's free.

I recommend eating at any of the many restaurants in Old San Juan.  Our favorites in Old San Juan:

    • Punto de Vista Rooftop Restaurant <- Our favorite

    • Marmalade Restaurant & Wine Bar

    For Dessert:

    • Casa Cortes Chocobar
      210 Calle de San Francisco

Also, for a cool keep-sake to San Juan, I recommend you stop at Mi Pequeno.  We stumbled across this artist painting Old San Juan Plaster door steps.  They are gorgeous.  Every time we go, I get a new one and they are all hanging in my bathroom.  So colorful, I love them!  Check out their website http://www.mipequenosanjuan.com

How is st maarten today , since the hurricane?

My family was on the Oasis mid-March and that was one of the ports they visited.  This is BY FAR my favorite port of all time.  I love it.  I love Maho Beach too (beach where the airplanes land right over your head).  Even though there were reports that Maho Beach was completely washed away/eroded from the Hurricane, they went.

The Sunset Beach Bar was up and running and they loved it.  Maho Beach wasn't completely obliterated and it's coming back.  Although, it will take a LONG time for it to be the huge beach it once was.  My family said there was a "piece" of the beach left that allowed enough room for maybe 20 beach chairs and umbrellas and an area for people to stand to be directly under the planes as they land.

Other beaches are still great as pictured by other posts here.  I mean, just LOOK at that water!  It's heavenly.  I love it and can't wait to visit my favorite island again next summer.

  11. Hi!  So, I am traveling with my 75 year old Mom in September to mentioned ports.  A few questions:

    • Some of these piers are super long.  Does the Pier or Royal provide transportation from the ship up to the port town and the other way around too?  My Mom gets exhausted when walking far and while that may not be far for some people, for her it really is.  Is there a service that is a golf cart or something that can transport her/us from the port town to ship or ship to port town so she doesn't have to make that trek?  If so, who do I arrange this with?

    • Same question for scooter rentals.  Wondering how this works.

Thank you all in advance for the help!  I want to make this trip as painless and effortless for my Mom as possible.  I don't want her to stress about the walking.

We have been to Little French Key twice and will definitely return again.

The service and food were both excellent.

Did you find that the drive to and from the ship was long?  It looks like it's a good 35 minute drive?

Thanks for the comment!  I think we will do this!!!!!

" All guests will be provided with a full refund as well as a 100% Future Cruise Credit. "

As much of a downer as this cancellation would be, the compo is essentially a free cruise. I'd actually be very very happy about that.

I'm not on this cruise but feel bad for those who were and now have to change their plans so close the sail date.  I was thinking...what if they had to fly there?  Change fees on airlines aren't cheap.  Bummer!!!!!
