Royal Caribbean to require crew to be vaccinated
HeWhoWaits replied to Mike.s's topic in Royal Caribbean News and Rumors
Kudos to the system for having this policy. Almost nothing irks me more than driving by the hospital and seeing dozens of doctors and nurses smoking. Does the employment condition also include no use of smokeless tobacco? That could also create a nicotine positive. -

As @Cruisin4ABruisin points out, the employer requiring vaccination is not a violation of the individual rights of their employees. Each employee has the RIGHT to choose - Do I want to get the vaccine and keep my job? Or do I want to skip the vaccine and leave my job? Free will. -
Royal Caribbean to require crew to be vaccinated

I think @monctonguyis saying that the lack of need for quarantine only applies if exposed during the first three months after vaccination. Yes, that would be everyone vaccinated to date but by mid-April, the first folks vaccinated would no longer be exempt from quarantine following exposure. -

But many more millions are months and months away from our "turn" to get the vaccine. -
I voted "no" because I would almost certainly never use it. However, it's a good option to have available.

Nothing passive-aggressive about my comment. I remembered somebody posting something like what I "quoted" but didn't care enough to go back and find out who (or what was the exact quote). Thank you for the clarification the both your state and your company require you to do so. Most states do not have such a mandate (most suggest it but don't make it mandatory).

I have no problem with masking outdoors for the protection of others when I am in a situation where I am unable to maintain a distance of six feet (American) or two meters (everybody else). The pool deck during the afternoon on a sea day meets this criterion. My issue would be the requirement to wear a mask when I am one of a dozen (or fewer) people walking around on the deck an hour prior to sunrise or at midnight. I've spent hours on deck without being "close" to anybody else for more than a couple seconds.

I agree with your sentiment on that but the logic is that in walking to your table you will likely be within the (arbitrarily defined) six feet of multiple people. On the other hand, once I am seated, my server will be exposed within six feet of me several times during the meal, so logic is clearly not part of the equation.

Yes, to date I have not gone anywhere that I am required to wear a mask outdoors. Makes me curious about those who have posted things like "I have to wear a mask to walk across an empty parking lot at 3:00 a.m." and such. I have to put on a mask when I enter the building next to the parking lot and can take it off as soon as I exit said building. Not just in my hometown - throughout the state and in other states I have visited.

This has also been the case whenever we have more than 4 booked, even in the same suite. Each booking maxes out at 4 people, so you have to "add passengers from another reservation."

St.Maarten/St.Martin What else to do???
HeWhoWaits replied to Drewtastic86's topic in Shore Excursions
My son (enjoys a variety of spirits, but not a huge rum guy) took the Royal excursion to Topper's and a beach. Reported that he enjoyed the tour and tasting. -

I'll second this one. Enjoyed this so much that we did it again in Cozumel. The St. Martin version was better. -
Port Canaveral Thinks July is Worst Case Timeframe

There will be nowhere near a full house of fans for the Super Bowl. The game is happening and some people will be in attendance, but it's definitely NOT business as usual. -

NOT A Good Sign People !!

Look for a Royal Caribbean patent application in the not-too-distant future. ???? -
Once you book things in the Cruise Planner, be sure to check pricing regularly. You will likely be able to find better deals on the items you purchase.

Grandeur is, indeed, an older ship. But it is far from dilapidated (as some online reviews would lead one to believe). As an older ship, the "bells and whistles" of the bigger ships are missing but for many of us that's a positive rather than a negative. Food quality is not an issue. The only drawback to some (not in my case) is the less extensive specialty dining.
