Four decent sized, reasonably high quality pours for free? Absolutely. The sommelier leading the one I attended did an excellent job explaining and helping those in attendance understand the aroma wheel (an underappreciated aspect of enjoying wine). It also didn't hurt that I was at a table set for six that only had four people so I got extra.

Crack Down on Chair Hogs on Odyssey

Like nowhere near the pool, perhaps? -
I don't know for certain about the others, but the Captains Club wine tasting was no charge (reservation still required, though).

Maybe Matt should look into chartering one. -
Anyone saw apple maps Perfect Day at cococay

Looks like Apple Maps isn't nearly as up-to-date as Google Maps Earth View. -

Or get an early boarding time, go straight to WJ, find a table you like, and reserve the space for the duration of the cruise. -
Crack Down on Chair Hogs on Odyssey
HeWhoWaits replied to Psycho and Barb's topic in Royal Caribbean Discussion
If I wanted chairs by the pool (I never do), I would be one of those available to snag them as soon as the early morning deck cleaning is done. I'm up by 6:00 a.m. every day (earlier if it starts getting light out before that). As I said, if you were using the chair all morning, the staff would know that and not treat you like the "drop their stuff just to reserve a chair" types. -

If you're dropping stuff off at 9:00 and not using the chairs until after lunch, that's far more than an hour (chair hog). If you're using the chairs from 9:00 until you leave for lunch, that's a different story and the staff monitoring the chairs (as well as other passengers) would have seen you there throughout the morning (NOT a chair hog). -

August 12, 2045 is a Saturday. Don't be confused by the everywhere but the US convention that would make the date seem like December 8, 2045. The graphic has a US-based date. -
Yet another snafu with final payment due
HeWhoWaits replied to TessFromFlorida's topic in Royal Caribbean Discussion
I'm starting to believe this is a systems-based method to discourage cancelling and re-booking CP purchases at lower prices. If it becomes enough of a hassle, maybe most folks will just keep their purchases at the original purchase price. -
Our recent trips into Florida have been facial recognition customs breeze through without needing the actual documents.

Summit... The Good, the Bad and the Downright UGLY!!!
HeWhoWaits replied to deep1's topic in Celebrity & SilverSea
I was referencing the accounts created to complain about Royal, not about your potential to use Celebrity again. Having sailed on Celebrity Reflection in February, I can concur with the aspects of Celebrity that are excellent. -
Of course, in Greenville the peak was only 79.8% and y'all had 77.9% in New Bern. Best description - an otherwise bright sunny day turned into partly cloudy for about ten minutes.

Summit... The Good, the Bad and the Downright UGLY!!!

Had @deep1's post been from a post count of 1 account and about RC, how quickly would we (myself often included) be jumping on the "one and done, just ignore them " responses? -
But then there isn't the motion of the ship and the vast expanse of nothingness (our favorite view on board).
-
I disagree. Another sea day>>>Nassau.
-
Many of the other potential options can't handle adding an extra ship on short notice. Port schedules are set years in advance for those with limited berthing/anchorage space.
-
We're a perfect example - I enjoy D+ benefits rather than my "mere" Diamond because I'm tied to my wife's history. I could sail 28 nights solo in a suite and still not quite catch her on points. If we're going to spend the money for one of us to go without the other, that money is better spent on her.

Celebrity lacks the more than sufficient number of drink vouchers that Royal offers.
-
That would be great if the merger included the BEST benefits of both programs but what if they opted for the lesser of similar benefits? Be careful what you wish for.

All aboard time is quite important don't ya think!
HeWhoWaits replied to Bazza's topic in Royal Caribbean Discussion
Saw this story a couple days ago. Naturally, it paints Norwegian in a bad light for the Captain being inflexible. As for me, I say "Bravo, Captain!!!" If the all aboard is clearly stated (it always is and in multiple ways) and all excursions purchased through the cruise line are back, it's time to close up and go. -
Furniture upgrade in Port Canaveral Terminal 1

VIP seating area - aka Suites, Pinnacles, and Key waiting area. Those 223 seats won't be enough for all the Suites, Pins, and Keys on the newest ships. -
The Key Bridge was scheduled for deck replacement in 2025. That budget certainly won't cover the cost of removal of the debris, let alone replacement.

Surely it will be less expensive to fly to/from Florida than to pay for a month of parking on top of the cost to drive with a hotel stop each way.
