  1. DH & I are now Diamond, and on our last cruise, we rarely went over our 4 drink limit, including getting wine with dinner. We had 2 bottles with us, and never opened them. Going in July, and were planning to bring the 2 bottles again, but were planning to pour into some kind of bottle or cup that will seal (I use a scooter, so carrying the glass isn't an option for me, and doesn't allow for refills if wanted). He seemed to think that if they see you pouring your own wine into your own glass at the table, it will invoke a corkage fee. Thoughts?
  2. i dont need a lift as long as there are stairs with a railing - similar to what oasis lagoon has. I watched one you tube video, but there were only a couple of quick pans of the pool. I will try to search out some others. I'm hoping to get there pretty much on opening, so i can get a poolside lounge - beaches and I are not a good mix (have one knee replacement, may have the 2nd one done by the time we go next year). DH & DD weren't interested, and I actually reserved it yesterday (at the good price!) for both ends of B2B June 2026. I figure if I don't like it, or feel it was worth it the first week, I can cancel it for the following cruise
  3. I use a scooter - is the beach club accessible, and are there steps for the pool (actual steps or slope with a handrail?) Would be worth it for me if it was.
  4. In order Song of America (37 years ago!), Explorer, Adventure, Anthem X 2, Oasis (B2B), Vision, Odyssey. Have a B2B on Liberty this summer, then a B2B on Oasis next summer
  5. doesn't the cabana issue wristbands for the 8 people? Might be able to get away without banding the kids, as long as they are with an allowed adult
  6. no - you would be reimbursed whatever you paid, but you can't switch them to another person - they are tied to your name and your account
  7. I've done the taste of the caribbean, and enjoyed it. Also did the sip/tour/brunch several years ago (it may have been called something else). DH has done the whiskey tasting. The champagne tasting isn't for me - I like champagne, but not enough to pay for several different tastings, and i have a very unsophisticated wine palate, so the other wouldn't be worth it to me. And, as a diabetic - no way am i doing the cupcake decorating (not new, been around for a while) or the candy sushi.
  8. ours was Song of America - 1988 - honeymoon. By the time we sailed again on Royal, it was 2013, and afterwards, DH contacted C&A and asked if that 1988 one would count towards our status. They said yes, as long as we could prove it. As it happens, I had saved the tickets, etc in my honeymoon picture album. He scanned, sent, & we had 7 more points in our status
  9. I won't post my DH's pic without permission, but this was him last year on St. Patty's Day, getting ready for the pub crawl he was going on...
  10. Vision last year had a green baloon drop, but can't speak for odyssey
  11. Belt and suspenders - that's me too!!! Copies of everything in a folder, screen shots of the set sail passes, just in case! I don't unplug - DH does, he uses an old phone so he can access email & FB if he wants, and the RC App - but no one can call him - but since I have a daughter & 92 yo mother, I want to be accessible, just in case
  12. I get it - that's why we cruise out of Bayonne - close to home. Did one sailing out of Baltimore last year, and while we enjoyed ourself on Vision, I think I like a little bigger ship. Have done Oasis Class, Voyager Class, Vision class, and Quantum Class - doing Freedom Class this summer (Liberty). so will see what I feel about that. I am NOT interested in Icon class - not unless they can sail out of Bayonne (don't want to fly) AND are at least 7 days - that's my minimum, and I really prefer longer than that
  13. if your 4 diamond drinks a day will cover your alcohol - pay for the refreshment pkg instead. It's usually 1/2 the cost of the deluxe, and will get you all the specialty coffees, sodas, bottled waters, fresh squeezed oj and mocktails you can drink. And, if you like wine w/ dinner, you can bring on a bottle per adult. We don't bother with the DBP since we turned diamond
  14. 62.99 for diamond and above on my 2 liberty sailings this august (5 & 9 night B2B), but since Diamond gets 4 free drinks, and I can carry on wine, and the refreshment package we paid a lot less than 1/2 of the current DBP - doesn't make any sense to me to get it
  15. oh - so not participant error - unless they swerved in front of the guide.
  16. I thought that was why they make you sign the waiver
  17. we were on odyssey early January - 11 nights - and even the indoor solarium was too cold the first few days - but we were also between 2 cold systems in the Atlantic at the time. I didn't use the outdoor pool til day 5 - our first port day in Nassau
  18. they are not specifically banned yet, but they do request you keep them down. Banning may come if people continue to blare music where others don't want to hear it.
  19. You can bring up to 12 bottles of OJ , volume up to 17 oz each, if you insist on a specific type. Fresh squeezed is available if you have either the refreshment or deluxe beverage package, or regular "orange juice" drink is available at any time as far as I know
  20. yup - we did it for lunch on Odyssey in January - full meal (and I shouldn't have had breakfast) - shrimp and lobster, DH had shrimp & filet - no upcharge
  21. yup - and I take awful selfies anyway
  22. just to be clear - this is for the larger ships, right? We have a stop in San Juan (not til August) on Liberty - would we be able to dock?
  23. I've used diamond discount for onboard purchases (RC logo items) - from the shops. Also, for laundry discount on longer cruises. Always tell them when you do. DH was asked on our last cruise if he wanted to use his discount for a purchase, which was good because I don't think he would have remembered
  24. except the ship can't leave til you do - but yeah, you can do reservations, have a drink, something to eat - then muster - just don't make them call your name
  25. Yes. I use a lanyard because it's easier for me - don't always have pockets, or feel like digging it out of a bag. DH puts his in a pocket or his phone case, because all of his pants / shorts have pockets, and he doesn't like the lanyard. There are the WOW bands, which can unlock your door & allow you to make purchases, but DO NOT suffice for getting off & on the ship in port, so you will need your seapass card at least for that.
