  1. I’m not sure I am ready for fully unvaxxed cruises. I’m currently ok with 80% and, like easing into a cold pool, I will slowly adjust. Just am not the type to jump right in!
  2. I fervently hope it is NOT don’t ask, don’t tell. I will not force my vaccination opinion on anyone else BUT it is important for me to know the % of unvaccinated allowed on any given sailing. This lets me decide if that % is too high for my comfort level to sail or whether I need to bring more masks.
  3. I THINK it means that, just like the unvaxxed, vaccinated passengers can now test 3 days prior instead of 2 and unvaccinated can use an antigen test instead of requiring a PCR.
  4. Did you have reservations for dinner or just show up? Hit WJ at the most popular breakfast time? Expect to get a prime pool lounger mid morning? Sailed on a full capacity oasis class ship before? What you encountered sounds pretty normal to me. Ships sailing at 100%+ of capacity are crowded.
  5. Yup, my mantra is never use a debit card!! If they make an error charging my CC, a quick call to Chase isolates the charge until it can be fixed. No way I’m giving them (or anyone for that matter) access to any of my accounts.
  6. Maybe because the cruise lines were shut down or sailing at greatly reduced capacities for the last couple years? Tough to have to economic influence when you’re closed!
  7. Cruise Control Transportation or Cortrans. Have used both with excellent results.
  8. You will get answers both ways. Some say yes you can get on earlier. Others will say you will be made to wait for your scheduled time. There is no rhyme or reason to it. Depends on how busy they are when you arrive, whether the people on duty that day are sticklers for the rules, what they had for breakfast. Show up, hope for the best, prepare for the worst.
  9. Matt, how is checkin August for a November sailing?
  10. If you look at Dining on the app, slide over to Main Dining Room, it should list this information. For our last and our upcoming cruise, traditional dining was listed for all 3 levels and MTD specifically on Deck 3. The food is the same
  11. And ours is September 14 for an October 29 cruise so yours should be September 12.
  12. Tried to get one on Harmony but they said they did not have whatever the banana ingredient is. Very disappointed.
  13. Don’t even own hair dryer, curling iron, flat iron. Gotta love short hair! Of course if they ban hairspray I’m screwed!!
  14. Bubble Bums. If you just need a booster, these are very portable. If you are looking for a shuttle option, we are using SAS Transportation to and form the port. $15pp
  15. Cruise Control Transportation or Cortrans both provide excellent service and prices.
  16. Once again, SSDD for my October Explorer cruise. Plan remains to pay OOP for drinks & just get the soda package for 1 of us.
  17. Ok since you are offering opinions, we are booked at the Springhill Suites in Dania Beach, Southwest 18th Court? Yes? No?
  18. I LOVE hats!!! Unfortunately my short somewhat spikey hair doesn’t allow me to wear them any longer. Once a hat goes on, I have to either wear it for the rest of the day or go rewash & spray my hair. I miss my hats BTW I’m 67!
  19. The spice of life! My daughter is more like you and my mother, God rest her soul, had to have shoes, hat, handbag & jewelry for every outfit!!. I just never got what I call the girly gene. Maybe it skips a generation?
  20. Really there is plenty of room under the bed. On our last cruise with our adult children in an owners suite, I fit 3 checked and 2 carry on sized bags & there was room for at least one more each. Nest small into large.
  21. For our 8 day cruise for 2 we will take 1 25” and 1 21” bag with a small carry on (very small duffle). Neither bag will have the extenders open. I am not a fashionista and don’t need multiple outfits for EACH day. I do the mix & match thing, bring no more than 3 pair of neutral shoes, two of which are nice flip flops, that match everything and rewear things. I can wear a dress on day 2 and again on day 5. I don’t think anyone is monitoring my outfits.
  22. You are welcome to use your original birth certificates and another form of ID in lieu of passports as long as you are on a cruise beginning and ending at the same US port. If, however, you have an issue at a foreign port of call requiring you to return home by some other method, the BC will not help you.
  23. And I always have an id tag INSIDE our luggage with my cell phone number and that of a non traveling family member in case the outer tag gets ripped off.
  24. Just because you all have been so supportive here, I thought I’d post the next chapter in the story. As there is an FCC Kicker promotion going on this month, I gently (sort of) nudged my brother to contact the new TA about getting something booked. I am happy and somewhat surprised to say he did. Looks like we are back on Harmony in May, 2023 for a 7 day western Caribbean cruise. There are reasonably priced Junior Suites available (on the hump of deck 8 so perhaps slightly larger balconies) and I think we are gonna jump on it. He is going with the refundable deposit this time! I wish I could get him the deal he missed but at least it’s the same ship & cabin category. I think we are dumping the cousins in a balcony cabin.
