  1. https://www.gov.uk/foreign-travel-advice/vietnam/entry-requirements uk gov website states that you do not need a visa if staying less than 15 days
  2. Pretty sure Drinks package didnt show up on my cruise planner either but it showed on receipt as you state . No problems once on ship ( apart from a couple of rough nights )
  3. Dont think it was french military as it was moving forwards ?
  4. The sockets are US and EU only, there are no UK sockets
  5. Just a bottle opener ? as long as i have that i soon forget about the things i should have packed but didnt ?
  6. I was flying from Singapore to Manila when i flew with them, seats had so much leg room, food was amazing, crew basically walked from sg to ph as all they did was go from front to back the whole flight and i have never been on any other flight where the wine comes from proper full size bottles poured into a glass even on the economy class. and when i jokingly suggested she just leave the full bottle of red to save her coming back she did ????
  7. Drum roll..................Philippines Airlines From start to finish without doubt the best airline i have flown. Joe will answer you PM shortly will also tell you how to avoid paying icelands extortionate food and drink prices in airport or on aircraft ?
  8. Shocking prices, i could fly to Australia for less lol next cruise i am actually looking at sailing from singapore around asia
  9. Airfares to SJU are shocking!!! Scotland to NYC roughly 12 hrs travel £550 per person, this includes baggage, meals and all drinks. Right now the cost of Nyc to sju which is roughly 4hrs travel would set me back £750 per person and this includes nothing!! Still have to pay for baggage, meals and drinks. Hopefully these prices drop otherwise my wifes going to have to learn to swim lol These prices are for june 2020
  10. If you are flying International then yes, as it will be duty free and in a sealed bag. If an internal flight then no as the maximum for liqiuds is 100ml
  11. The price of alcohol is so expensive in Norway that $128 per day is probably about 6 drinks same as RC pricing.
  12. i use the prepay Revolut mastercard, i believe this bank is starting in the US sometime soon ( it may have done so already ) I link my main bank account to revolut card and top up when required, it's ideal for oversee's payments for things like hotels, flights etc as you can transfer money from your main currency into another eg: USD to Euro at a better exchange rate then pay for hotels etc in euro's, this means there are no transaction fee's. you can also have money in various currencies on the card at the same time, If you travel to a country that isnt on their list then they you just pay in whatever currency you have on card and they change it again for no fee. Also has the best app i have seen for any bank, security is amazing, you can freeze card completely if lost or stolen and also switch off individual commands at any time ie internet purchases, contactless, ATM withdrawals etc, so when i visit somewhere i make sure only the commands i use are in operation ( chip & pin and contactless )
  13. Full info regarding cash/cards for Bermuda Bermuda's official currency in the Bermuda Dollar which is fixed to the US Dollar. Because of the latter, the US dollar is accepted everywhere at par. British Pounds sterling, Canadian dollars, Euros and other currencies should not be brought as they cannot be used. Mostmajor international credit cards will be accepted from visitors, but overseas debit cards, even in the USA, cannot be used in Bermuda. Most if not all Bermuda places to stay, stores and restaurants will no longer accept traveler's checks, so they should not be bought for your Bermuda visit. The local-only Bermuda Dollar pictured below, is not exportable. It is not traded internationally. Visitors to Bermuda, irrespective of from where they fly to get here, cannot buy or sell Bermuda dollars abroad. It is used only by local citizens and residents - not by international companies based in Bermuda (all of which use US dollars). It is not cashable or exchangeable by any foreign banks. They should bring US dollars - freely accepted and officially at par everywhere. The Bermuda dollar is pegged to and is based on the international value of the US dollar.
  14. So finally the RC UK site has the free all inclusive drinks package as part of their deal, this is where i finally find out the best deal available. Now when i started this thread back in march the costs were as follows UK Oceanview Balcony : £2,356.78 + free Wifi US Oceanview Balcony : £2036.50 + $50 obc ( RC ) + $50 obc ( MEI Travel ) THIS WAS BOOKED ? The cost of drinks package to purchase is round about £700 for my wife and myself, so total for cruise with purchased drinks pack will be between £2700 - £2800 for the cruise. Various sales BOGO etc on both UK and USA sites have to date been more expensive, thank you to Sharla from MEI Travel for constantly checking USA site sales and letting me know my original booking was still the best. On checking RC UK site today much to my DELIGHT the total cost for same cruise, same balcony stateroom, free drinks package and prepaid gratuities is............................£3,743.82 Throw in the $100 OBC i received and i'm roughly £1000 better off having booked when sailings first became available. The balcony stateroom room on same deck ( forward ) is £1789pp now compared to just over £1100 pp when booked. And the best part is because booking was made through Blog Sponsor MEI TRAVEL they will still check price when deals appear ?
  15. Its a shame they didnt join this site prior to cruising because then they would have got all the info they needed. Cant believe anyone would go on a cruise that visits at least one foreign country and not think passports where needed, doesnt matter what your told you're leaving the country you need a passport to get back in be it by cruiseship or airline.
  16. Probably more chance of incidents involving alcohol on land at all inclusive hotels or walking down any main street in any city on a Saturday night. Every passenger on a cruiseship is there to enjoy themselves so chances of incident are a lot less than on land where people will argue with anyone about the most trivial things.
  17. If you go to top and read from start you will see i simply posted the latest news report, i made no comment or judgement. My later posts related to the fact that even though the facts where in front of them important parts were omitted by others thus basically saying RC dont care about peoples safety. So whats going to happen? A lawsuit against RC because they let people climb on fence or let people with mental issues board without having psychiatric tests done to ensure they dont jump overboard? Because thats the crazy world we live in! Its always someone elses fault! Now in your own words to me and others on various threads " if your not happy dont read "
  18. Same applies to me with the vacuum cleaner, i switch it on and move it about but god knows if it actually works properly ? i just get told its not done right ?
  19. Yeah it is and is Disney work properly lol
  20. You only posted half of the report from the link i attached, the part where it states RC is one of a number of cruiselines which dont have this system in place yet. The part you omitted for reasons unknown clearly states the reasoning behind RC decision not to have this system in place until it actually works.
  21. Cant blame RC or any other cruiseline for peoples own stupidity. The railings are there to stop you falling over not to be used as a diving board or climbing frame!
  22. https://www.newsweek.com/royal-caribbean-cruise-ship-overboard-symphony-seas-1454481?amp=1 News report from 3hrs ago
  23. All this talk of paper straws brought this story from last week to mind https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/amp/business-49234054 What clown thought this was a good idea ?
