  1. I'm C&A diamond and casino prime member (and already prime for 2022) and I have unused 2021 CLUB ROYALE TIER BENEFIT (21TIER) that expires 3/31/2022. Day 1. I called to investigate price for the upgrade and ask for Tier Exclusive Rates for Family and Friends for Additional Staterooms for my friends. We are planning to sail May 2022. For us deal was OK with the upgrade to balcony and taxes $900, but surprisingly highly acclaimed Exclusive Rate by Casino Royale gave our friend huge discount of 100 USD. Oh well. Gathered info, called my friends (hardcore NCL cruisers), they are OK with it, we are going ! Day 2. I called to confirm booking and make payments but I was told that my offer has (hidden) sail by date for March 31 2022. So I guess day 1 representative made a mistake. Does it make sense? Therefore if I would be calling on March 30th to take advantage of this still valid offer, I would need to sail the very next day or loose it. Not very friendly lady said that it is what it is in the system and denied me access to supervisor "because it will not make any difference". It just sad to see how Royal is throwing those free cruises left and right just for looking at a slot machine and at the same time takes a very rigid stand towards their loyal cruisers. Ehhh I had to vent!
  2. Nov 07-14. I don’t recall exact number but around 1800. 60-65% of capacity. Plenty of space everywhere but some lines for breakfast at WJ
  3. I think USD is most valued. I remember being politely asked by some crew members (after they’ve learned that I’m Canadian)to exchange CAD for USD as it was quite troublesome for them.
  4. Flyer with new QR code was delivered with more information to out stateroom. We were able to properly register and schedule out test for the last day of the cruise. Testing procedure was very fast and easy. In the conference room on the second deck, they set-up testing venue with 5 stations. We made sure that it is a PCR test, quick swab inside nostrils and 30 minutes later we got our results by email. Easy. Too bad we had to loose some vacation time to make sure that it will be done. Also we've learn, that all crew members are tested on weekly bases. Go Royal !
  5. I was trying to schedule it with Guests Services but all I’ve got it was QR code with link with registration to testing facility in San Juan after disembarking. Completely useless I had to take this in my hands as we are flying to Canada right after the cruise. So I talk to our concierge and the rest was handled with him. First they told me that they can provide PCR testing onboard by ship doctor (!) but I’ll be charged for it. Once I finally found and presented section of the RoyalApp that is talking about free test, they came back saying that’s only for antigen test (because they mention that in previous section in regarding to kids testing). Ehh Finally today I’ve got phone call with scheduled time and was reassured that test is complimentary I understand that this is the very first cruise for EOS after ~15 months but crew was on the ship for two months before sailing, they should be better prepared and synchronized with rest of the fleet. I’ll update you how did it go.
  6. My issue has been resolved with help of suite concierge (Thank you Jorge:). It might helped that I found this section in RoyalApp. Testing will be done in ship’s medical facilities on the last day of the cruise Many thanks to everyone responding to my question !!
  7. I’m onboard now (EOS), PCR test is still required to re-enter Canada. I need to do it onboard and they want to charge me for it. I saw somewhere entire paragraph explaining this process and I remember that they said that it is going to be complimentary. Cannot find it now. Any ideas?
  8. I'm sure I read somewhere that passengers from countries that require a PCR test to return after cruise will have free tests one or two days before disembarkation. Does anyone has link or document confirming this statement ? Now I was trying to schedule that test and they are wanting to charge me for it. I cannot find this info anywhere. Thank you!
  9. If using Air2Sea is less expensive that’s no brainer, I would go for it. As per canceled flights and accommodations I have it covered by my credit card. It’s one of many perks worth $100 per year especially when you are frequent flyer/traveler, so I don’t see a reason to pay extra for something that is already covered. Again if for some reason ship is late (hurricane season) Air2Sea is your best friend.
  10. If you want to fly in earlier there is no point of using Air2Sea. You are paying extra and have limited options of airlines. IMHO. I use them only if I need to arrive on the day of the embarkation or flight home is dangerously early. However using it would be strongly recommended during hurricane season (which I try to avoid altogether).
  11. An interesting way to eliminate a large number of pinnacle members - big saving on those extra perks.
  12. I wouldn't like to breath recycled air all the time while in the cabin. Nothing replaces smell of fresh salty sea air before going to the bed or wonderful view when you wake up in the morning.
  13. I second that. We've got nice bottle of wine from casino and between our drinking package and the fact that we were flying back with carry-on only, we had no use for it. Our MDR waiter enjoyed that bottle along with thank you note describing our gift.
  14. In fine print (12.) quoted by @AshleyDillo they are talking about stripping you from Club Royale benefits - nothing about denying payouts from your winnings.
  15. We'll be sailing on FOS in Junior Suite (Oct 2020). One of very few JS perks is dinner in CK. However CK is not present on Freedom. Is there something that Royal offers to replace missing CK?
  16. Letting child to wake up alone in strange environment, crying until you show-up all the way from the pool deck. How do you or your spouse think that it is a good parenting? Sounds like it might get you "Parent of the year" award. Category: remote parents Should something happen will you blame Royal Wi-Fi ? Just in case keep it handy: https://www.lipcon.com/maritime-attorneys/michael-winkleman/
  17. If they swap your card (they will 98% of the time, excluding for bottled water), you can see the list of all the times and places card was used. It is recorded on your account. So for your stats, you can check it on your TV the evening before debarkation.
  18. so basically you want to leave younger kid unattended, alone in the room, checking your phone from time to time. I've deleted so many comments that I wrote after that....
  19. I had that on my last Anthem cruise. My guess is that's due to the complains that it is an additional pressure tactic to get more tips, or waste of paper (maybe both). If you don't have cash on you, nothing stops you to ask for a receipt and add additional tip for an exceptional service. Did that several times and it was always greatly appreciated.
  20. I believe that this family sole motivation is making sure that their older child has obscenely rich parents.
  21. It was obvious that he was doing a good job watching her and following her everywhere but made a terrible decision to put her on the reeling. Horrible accident at his fault but must be forgiven by the parents. Blaming third party doesn't accomplish it.
