I was hoping to hop off the Symphony TA in November and board Edge but she isn't ready until later in November and only 3 night cruises at first.

Yes.  If you haven’t played in the casino recently you will need to activate your Club Royale status with a recent cruise.  Then, call before you book again.  There are lots of new restrictions but you can lose nothing by calling to see if there are any offers that you could take advantage of.

I recommend that, no matter how much or little you gamble, if you play at ALL, contact Club Royale (888-561-2234) before you book your next cruise.  Once you're a member (and all it takes these days is to have your seapass card scanned either in a slot machine or at a table) there's a CHANCE that you will be eligible for casino rates on your cruises.  There's no telling how many cruises I booked before I realized that we were eligible for casino rates.  They will NOT advertise it to you.  You have to seek it out on your own.  So if you play at all, call them before you book your next cruise just to SEE if they have any "offers" for you.  All they can say is, "sorry, no".  ...and you've lost nothing.

Regarding the craps , RC odds in the craps table is 1:1 which is very bad , only if you play 25$ and above you getting better odds ...
That is what happens when the casino know you can not go betting anywhere else for the next 7 days ...

So...I debated whether or not to respond to this post...this is a loaded question/comment...but I feel somewhat compelled to.
Just to put it simply, if you think about a cruise vacation, there are many, many behind the scenes people that give you that complete vacation experience even if you don't directly interact with them.  Imagine if that person in the hallway wasn't there to vacuum?  Then people would complain the hallways are filthy.  Or the person in the public bathroom constantly wiping down counters and picking up the tissue mess that people leave behind?  If that person wasn't there, people would complain and say that things are unsanitary.  I personally think that they are all important in some way to giving us a better experience all together.  I'm looking at the big picture.  We don't have great cruises just because of the people we directly interact with.
Not trying to start an argument.  Just trying to view it from a different lens. ?

Lets start from the simple things , slots , 
For slots you are getting 1 point every 5 $ you play (it is accumulate so if you are playing 1 $ after 5 plays you will get a point).
Once you accumulate 1000+  points you can get some certifications to use for cruise booking  up to 4900 $ for 7 nights balcony cabin free cruise (you still need to pay taxes )   /
 
For tables play , well here no one can really understand how it works but it seems that you need to play few hours with average bet of 50 $ in a black jack table.
For 3 card poker it will be less but your odds are against you .
In the table games it is very important that the pit boss will see you gamble the required  average if you are not playing on a table which has the required minimum .
In general it is always good to ask the questions and present yourself to the shift manager .
If they think you played enough in the first day they might give you the VIP status which allow you to get free drinks in the Casino bar and a waver of the 5% they are collecting if you are getting money from the casino cage.

I just did and saved $30.20!!! Yippee!! Now I can book another cruise! LOL

What do you do with your things if for instance both of you are snorkeling? Or just go one at a time? I've had stuff stolen on a local beach here I imagine it's tempting elsewhere.

Basically...cards and cash go snorkeling too.
Here's a beach trick...bring some sort of container, put your stuff in it and bury it in the sand. Of course, you have to be able to find it again, but thieves are quick to strike and will rifle through your stuff quickly...they won't go digging in the sand. 

Like @Gears we also bring the bare minimum.  We only bring passports if it's necessary at a port.  We take a look at what we are doing and bring the minimum amount of cash needed.  So even if it does get stolen, it's not the end of the world.  Then we bring a credit card and seapass cards but this is usually stored on us.  So if it's not a water excursion, then in a zippered pocket in my shorts or hubby's shorts.  And if it is a water excursion then all in the zippered pocket of hubby's swim trunks.  I have zero suggestions for snorkeling.
And we also wear zero jewellery.

Correct.  I've never tried to bring a bottle of my own wine to dinner but as I understand it that is when a corkage fees applies. 
I have carried a bottle of wine to a quiet spot on the ship, sat at a table and played cards or just talked without any one stopping and asking for a corkage fee.  This when I cruise with family or friends.  Sitting at a table by yourself, talking to yourself with two glasses and a bottle of wine when solo tends to garner attention.

I sailed on her when she was in San Juan and i really like the ship. I was on her directly after the "Cut Short" dry dock in 2014 and I think she has had another update dry dock or is scheduled for one.

Hey!!!!! y'all need to get off the ship when it gets to the ports.  Free up some space for me when y'all leave 
Start booking those excursions ASAP! 

Bought a day pass to a Sandals once to preview / try the experience as we've considered doing that instead of a cruise.  Otherwise, we just stay on the boat if we don't want to get off for whatever reason (been to port too many times, don't like the port, just need a break on a port intensive itinerary, etc).

I started on Norwegian, went to Royal, tried Princess (Panama Canal), went back to Royal, tired Disney, went back to Royal.
So yes, I agree with the statement that our cruises have shaped us and mark our decisions, not to mention I'm Diamond now, so that helps me.
