  1. Ugghhh, mine was May 2 Symphony and nothing yet! Did you hear from RC or did it go through your TA and they told you? My FCC will pay for all of my rebooked Symphony and all but $200 of our October 2021 Italy/Greece on Odyssey. We had a JS on our May cruise and when I rebooked there were no JS available so going back to ocean view with large balcony. That’s how I’m able to pay for 2 cruises with one FCC. Also ditto @Matt on the aft balcony on Freedom. It’s a large ship and I’d want to be more mid ship near elevator.
  2. And then there’s this article about how much the ships make a day: https://www.cruzely.com/how-much-the-biggest-cruise-ships-and-cruise-lines-make-each-day/?amp
  3. Here’s a good article to start the math process. I thought I read somewhere on this message board that all 4 Oasis class ships had revenue over $400 million. https://www.google.com/amp/s/www.cruzely.com/heres-how-much-money-cruise-ships-make-off-every-passenger-infographic/%3famp
  4. I know RC incorporates “fuzzy math.” Now they’re messing with the calendar ?
  5. Hmmmm......there is no Monday April 30 ? Tomorrow is the 27th.
  6. I know it’s a remake of Lovely Day.......but the CocoCay song they play as you come onto the island is now a promo on ESPN. Been hearing it all weekend during the NFL draft and it’s boo hoo because I’m supposed to be on CocoCay this Friday. ?
  7. My TA at MEI told me that if you have leftover FCC, it can be applied to another cruise as long as it is before December 2021. The OBC has to be used on one sailing only. If there is a balance after you make all your cruise planner purchases, the balance will stay as OBC to be used on board.
  8. Interesting article on possible changes we may see once cruising resumes. Many of these have been discussed amongst us! https://thepointsguy.com/guide/cruising-changes-caused-by-coronavirus/
  9. Pretty sure a bankruptcy judge would protect the consumer. At least I hope. Hmmmm though.....what country would they declare bankruptcy in? Ships are all flagged in other countries. RC doesn’t pay US corporate taxes. Uh oh.....
  10. My October Symphony dropped to $49 DBP. I want to book it but I haven’t gotten my 125% OBC for my cancelled cruise. I’m sure by the time I get it (around April 30) the price will go back up. ? Pretty sure this sale is to get a flush of cash for RC. The massive delay in refunds shows to me they don’t have the money. Run a great sale=generate much needed cash.
  11. So if you have left over OBC, can you cash it out in the casino? Is there a limit?
  12. Mine is also down to $49 and I can’t book it because I don’t have my credit yet. ? I could go ahead pay for it and cancel and rebook when the credit comes through but then I would have to pay the current price and with my luck it’ll be higher.
  13. Here is her actual response: The RC representative I spoke to this morning said, the email I received this morning saying that my cruise planner reservations will be refunded back to the card I purchased them with, is a standard email that is sent out when a cruise is “typically” canceled. She said they’re not able to prevent those emails from coming out. She said on April 30th, anyone who requested 125% FCC, as well as anyone who filled out the additional form for the 125% cruise planner reservation credit, will receive an email with that credit information. I asked multiple times to clarify that the money I spent on the drink package and dining package are NOT going to be refunded to my card and she ensured me that they are not. It seems as though they are unable to bypass the typical emails that are sent out when cruises are canceled (because they don’t normally offer the 125% credits). She said they have had a huge influx of calls regarding this today, and are trying to get that fixed for the newest around of cancelations. So I guess we’ll see on April 30th if that’s the case!
  14. This cruise planner email was automatically generated. Your cruise disappeared off the planner too. Someone in one of my Facebook groups called RC and were told that it was automatically generated and they can’t stop them. All FCC and OBC will be done by April 30 and you’ll get another email stating that. I freaked too ?
  15. Carnival was negligent. They transferred crew off the Grand Princess in California and sent them to other ships. Across their lines they had way more problems than any other line and in my opinion it is due to their lackluster response in the very beginning.
  16. So I took the credit for my cruise planner purchases for my cancelled Symphony. It has not yet shown up in my cruise planner and I’m not expecting it anytime soon. So I’d like to start buying stuff in the planner now while some prices are reasonable. I’m afraid if I wait until the OBC shows up, the prices will be higher. Question: if I go ahead and buy now with a credit card, when my OBC shows up can I get my card refunded and apply the OBC? I would think with a price drop I could cancel and rebook using the OBC but if a price goes up, I obviously can’t cancel and rebook with OBC because I’d now have a higher price.
  17. My October 17 symphony is still at $79. You’re roughly 2 weeks before me on Oasis. I hope mine drops in 2 weeks.
  18. This is not good for Carnival https://apple.news/ADoyOTtZfRuifJKNgJyHWQA
  19. Pretty sure this is quite accurate. I know someone who was pretty high up with RC (hotel Director on Oasis class) that told me he felt Oasis class ships will come back first. Europe/exotic probably not happening. It’ll be interesting to see it unfold. I’ve got an October Symphony to replace my May cancelled one. Fingers crossed ?
  20. The current sale just saved me $327 on my October Symphony that I just booked 3 weeks ago to replace my May Symphony that was cancelled. $2600 for an ocean view with large balcony is pretty darn good. I took the 125% FCC. We had a JS on Symphony and I’m now looking at a FCC of about $6500! That FCC will now pay for my next Symphony AND almost 95% of my October 2021 Odyssey Italy/Greece. I’m super happy!
  21. I agree with @SpeedNoodles The new 100 day no sail order puts it into July. Agree Caribbean will come back first with Oasis class ships getting the first nod. I doubt Europe/exotic itineraries come back in 2020. Canada/Alaska also pretty much no.
  22. Well I was already awarded points when CAS was re-vamped back in the early 2000’s. Cruises used to be awarded a single point, was not based on nights. We were awarded several extra points during the changeover to the current program. It’ll be interesting to see if I get my points for my cancelled Symphony. I did take the 125% FCC. It was for a JS suite too.
  23. So glad my cancelled Symphony is with MEI! Hopefully no issue with my FCC when I get it but if so, I’ll sic Sharla on them!
  24. I think you’ll be on land unfortunately. I asked a friend of mine who was Hotel Director on Oasis and he felt the Fall should be ok and that RC will probably bring Oasis class back first. Those 4 ships each had over $400 million in revenue last year. Makes sense to bring your big money makers back first. Generate some cash flow.
  25. I really think this could be a viable option. A great way to ease back into business. Maybe I’ll “float” the idea on their social media ?
