  1. Question: how did you "divert" from the land tour to get the early train? We are doing the wilderness express tour and the morning of the sailing, we will leave Talkeetna and head to Anchorage by bus. The tour info says we will have a few hours to explore Anchorage before taking the bus to Seward. We really want to take the train. Did you get to Anchorage early enough for the morning train?
  2. Hi! We are on your sailing! We added the 3 night land tour to Denali beforehand. I'm really having a tough time deciding on what White Pass excursion to do. There's like 11 different ones. lol Are you booking yours through Royal or through White Pass?
  3. If you want the other ports let me know. Nothing showing yet for Ephesus. It was added a few months ago
  4. This is so weird because we’re on October 7 and we have excursions. I’ll post what we have.
  5. This trip fell in our lap this week. Unfortunately it is coming between our May 10 night Alaska cruise and our October 12 night Holy Land/Best of Greece cruise with 3 days in Rome afterwards. We also just got off Symphony 2 weeks ago and have Wonder in March. This trip will definitely need budgeting lol. We also live on a farm in Florida and we NEVER go away in the summer due to hurricanes. 10 days is all we can realistically do.
  6. Thank you! This is very helpful! We’re so lost planning this trip! Lol We’re planning on 10 days and hope to get to Ireland too. England would be a bonus.
  7. I totally agree with this and also believe RC will not require vaccines for under 12. They are really the only alternative to Disney. Disney cruises typically are 30-50% more expensive than RC. The protocols in place for under 12 are working. If you take the current under 12’s onboard and assume say 30% will end up vaccinated, they’re still reducing the unvaccinated kid population which will decrease the chances even more of kids testing positive on day 5. My money is on no vaccine mandate for under 12’s.
  8. I say pass the Dutchie ‘pon the left hand side It a go bun (give me the music, make me jump and prance)It a go dung, ya know? (Give me the music, make me rockin' at the dance)
  9. Just go Dutch. It’s more fun on the Dutch side anyways
  10. Hubby won ticket lottery for British Open. Who has done the UK (or individual countries in the UK) that can throw me a bone. Will be bothering @Sharla to help plan this but I’m lost on land! I know we want to stay in a castle! If anyone has ANY tips, please send my way!
  11. I just read that too on Facebook. Scary! Sounds like it’s hopefully under control
  12. Well the Open tickets are for Monday and Tuesday practice rounds (July 11/12) so no Fjords cruise this time for us. Heads up @Sharla. Looks like we need to plan a UK land tour!
  13. Just do it! YOLO! We were 14 short of Diamond Plus so I booked a 7 night on Harmony (during the double promo) since the port is 2 hours from us. Ended up moving it to Wonder in FLL but paying roughly $2500 to get 14 points and to Diamond Plus was a no brainer. Highly unlikely we’ll ever reach Pinnacle but now Celebrity is an attractive option since they’ll match status onboard.
  14. That’s the one I’m looking at! British Open is the 10th through the 17th so just have to see what tickets he gets. I may throw a refundable deposit down until we find out which day he gets.
  15. We still had plastic bottles on Symphony 2 weeks ago. I do agree with the tin can taste. Knowing that this is coming fleet wide, I’ll be bringing a reusable water bottle and filling from the sink. Reverse Osmosis water is quite tasty to me and it’s free! I also noticed that I have the BEST hair days on cruises from the RO water. Apparently my hair likes “naked” water! Lol
  16. They used to be in your cabin. Now you can go to just about any bar or guest services to get the cups
  17. Anthem: Stavanger, Geiranger, Alesund, Kristiansand Jewel: Geiranger, Alesund, Kristainsand, Olden, Flam
  18. We’re doing the Holy Land/Best of Greece on Odyssey next October. Originally it was an Italy/Greece but was cancelled due to Covid and we pushed it to next year. Sailings will start back up over there in May and go until mid October. Most of the TA’s are at the end of October.
  19. Soooooo this is a bucket list cruise that was supposed to happen in another 2-3 years however……hubby won the ticket lottery for the British Open for this coming summer. St Andrews, Scotland, the 150th anniversary. I mean how much more awesome could that get? So of course my mind starts churning. Hmmmm if we’re flying across the pond, may as well try and cross off either the British isles cruise or the fjords. Well no British isles lines up with the Open. Can do anthem to the fjords, then take the train to Scotland after we disembark. Here’s the conundrum: I kind of had my heart set originally on Jewel out of Amsterdam to the fjords. Obviously Anthem out of Southampton is the logical choice plus the only one that aligns with the tournament. Those that have done the fjords do you have an opinion on which ship is best? It may be a mute point if his tickets end up being for day 1 or 2 as we wouldn’t get off Anthem until day 2 of the tournament. His tickets would have to be for the final 2 rounds. I’d like to at least put a refundable deposit down but if I should hold out for Jewel, I’ll just wait.
  20. Other than the deposit, I never pay early for a cruise. I normally will pay a few days early (through my TA) just to be sure no hiccups in the transaction. Why give them my money interest free? Lol There is no advantage to paying it off early. Final payment for *most* cruises is 90 days. Check in *normally* is 90 days out as well.
  21. The satin ones actually dry super quick. I never even noticed mine was wet.
