  1. It's essentially free money on top of whatever other promotion RC is running. Think of it more like "sweetening the deal" rather than a special promotion
  2. I believe you are referring to the Diamond drink coupons: http://www.royalcaribbeanblog.com/2014/07/17/cruising-101-crown-and-anchor-society-complimentary-drink-coupons
  3. I stayed in the Cambria Suites, which is close to the airport. They have a shuttle (although I drove myself).
  4. That is what always happens to me. I've been waitlisted many times and they have always come through, except one time. In that one time, I went to speak to head waiter in MDR on embarkation day and he immediately had us changed to our preferred dining rotation without any hesitation.
  5. I'd add to either pick a longer itinerary or a cruise that is over a part of the school year where there are no holidays. The longer the cruise and/or the more days parents would need to take kids out of school, the more the demographics onboard tend to skew towards adults. If you really want to limit the amount of kids, pick a sailing right after a major holiday. The month of January (minus New Years week) and September (after Labor Day) tend to be quite unpopular times to cruise with kids because it requires taking kids right back out of school. Most parents wait a bit longer before doing so.
  6. You can also call 1-877-560-0753
  7. I would say if you had a choice, pick My Time Dining. That way, you aren't assigned a specific table in the traditional dining times and can enjoy the buffet at your leisure. Truth be told, there is no compelling difference given your situation. If you plan to dine at the Windjammer buffet each evening, there is nothing special or different you have to do.
  8. No, wine flights are not included in the drink package. Same for tequila flights.
  9. Yes, there generally will be more opportunity onboard, but I do recommend making show reservations online. It is much simpler to do it now than wait for onboard.
  10. As soon as I know something concrete, I will report it on the blog.
  11. My kids are much younger than your daughter, but I seem to recall with teenagers, they have the ability to check themselves in and out of the Teen Club (unlike younger children). My suggestion is at the very least to speak to the Adventure Ocean staff on embarkation day and get a clear understanding of what you are expecting.
  12. Not sure how successful the YSPA is, or ever was. It was introduced on Oasis class ships but never really seemed to get much momentum with guests.
  13. According to Wilson, it is a forthcoming change. Highly doubt there will be two models. If the rumors are true, at some point they will switch over between sailings.
  14. Freedom does not offer a YSPA. Oasis class ships are the ships that offer it.
  15. If you are a resident of USA or Canada, you can change the price by rebooking at any time up until final payment date. So as long as you haven't reached final payment date, you should be able to take advantage of the new price. Also, this is a great example of why I use a travel agent. They re-price it for me and deal with the headache of prebooking.
  16. First place I look for day passes is ResortForADay.com
  17. Assuming it's true, it makes sense to consolidate and have one kind of Sabor experience across the fleet. Not only does this make things simpler for guests, but more importantly, it streamlines RC's process of supporting the restaurant operations.
  18. I haven't seen or heard about that yet, but that doesn't mean anything either.
  19. Takes a few business days for the refund to hit. Don't worry, it will come!
  20. I think you will be fine to go with that approach.
  21. So I had 3 night dining package at $75.... Chops: $35 Giovannis $30 Sabor $15 Total: $80 Totally rethinking the plan now and going a la carte. Plus, if RC does still the rebate back on 3 or more specialty restaurants, I'd save more with that. Not sure if it exists anymore.
  22. You might check the cruise doc you may have received after booking the cruise and placing a deposit. The rate should be outlined there. Like you said, doubt you booked a resident rate based on what you said. If all else fails, try calling RC. I wish I could give you more specific assistance, but I always book with a travel agent so that they can deal with these kind of issues
