irishminnj
I am brand new and I'm cruising with my 12 year old son, just the two of us. I'm trying to figure out if it's worth it to do the Unlimited Dining package for us or do you think we will have enough GOOD TASTING options that are included in the cruise cost? We are only going for 3 days total, with one day being in Ensenada, MX. I just think it's so expensive to upgrade but I will if the included meals/dining options aren't very good and don't have much variety. Please help me!!! Just stick with the buffet and main dining room. That will be more than enough for a short first time trip. Ryan79 and Big Tule
OCSC Mike
Food is subjective. Try the included venues & decide for yourself for future cruises. You will not starve. I’m assuming you’re on Navigator. Besides the above mentioned MDR & buffet, there are tacos at El Loco Fresh during the day (and other items but I stick with the tacos) & pizza, sandwiches, & snacks available until late night at Cafe Promenade. If you want an inexpensive meal/snack, I’m a big fan of Playmakers. Very good bar food. Enjoy your first cruise & don’t worry about the food. There’s plenty! Ryan79
You won’t get bored of the MDR or buffet on such a short cruise, especially with this being your first. There are better ways to enjoy that $$. CanHardlyWait, Big Tule and PPPJJ-GCVAB 2
happy cruisers 2
The main dining room will impress you, I think. Try it, or the buffet, and see if you think you've missed out on anything. For a short cruise, I think you will be very happy that you didn't spend extra for other options. Big Tule
I agree with the comments above I am sure your son would love the choices in the windjammer as well as the main dining room no need to get a dining package on such a short trip especially when you are in port one day...have a great time Ryan79
ChessE4
Our son cruised before specialty dining and enjoyed the included dining options.
PPPJJ-GCVAB
My grandkids thoroughly enjoyed ordering in the MDR…and I’m not sure they ever even looked at the kids menu (which I love the chicken tenders)! So much to choose from and as others mentioned…just being a three nighter no need for Specialty dining this time around!
