mbhaf
We booked an Alaska Inside Passage cruise on BOTS in June 2024. The itinerary includes Sitka, Juneau, Haines, and Ketchikan. Unfortunately, we will not be stopping off in Skagway for the White Pass train ride. Are there any alternatives for a beautiful scenic train ride through Alaska with our itinerary? Thanks in advance! Ryan79
No there are none on a train, but there are plenty via seaplane! Most of southern Alaska does not have roads, let alone trains, that connect it to the rest of the North America land mass. Skagway is one of the very very few exceptions. smokeybandit
As an aside, I didn't realize Carnival Corp owns that railway now. TessFromFlorida

KathyC
Depending on where you are embarking or disembarking, you can take a train to the port. We flew into Anchorage, and took the train from Anchorage to Seward where we got on the ship. If you are disembarking in Seward, you can do the opposite. If you are round trip from Seattle or Vancouver, not going to work for you, sorry. mbhaf and IRMO12HD 1

The railway owns one of the piers and that was what Carnival was really after. The railway was incidental to them along with the perennial rock slides on their pier.
