Allure of the Seas pushing arrival times and sail time

They don't give a reason. Is this common???

Dear Guest,

We’re looking forward to welcoming you onboard Allure of the Seas!

To allow for additional time to complete the debark process from our previous sailing, we kindly ask that you arrive 1 hour after your previously selected arrival time. All guests should plan to arrive no later than 4:00 PM, and we’ll now set sail at 5:00 PM. It’s extremely important to arrive during your new arrival time on boarding day. Space in the terminal can only accommodate a specific number of guests, so those who arrive sooner will be turned away and asked to return during their new time to avoid overcrowding in the terminal. Arriving early may also mean that you’ll have to wait outside of the terminal in all types of Texas weather conditions. If you haven’t already selected a time yet, we kindly ask you to please visit our app and complete your online check-in.

I just got the same email and here’s the question that I have - We’ve heard on the boards here that Galveston is not enforcing arrival times. So is this something we actually need to follow or will we be putting ourselves at the back of the line of all the people who don’t follow directions?

We intend to follow the instructions hoping it will lead to easier boarding and minimized waiting to enter our staterooms.

I read a trip report from someone who was on Allure last week and she posted the disembarkation schedule. On it, the latest departure time slot was 10:30-10:40am. When we cruised from Ft. Lauderdale on Allure last year, everyone was off before 9am. So perhaps Allure just has a different schedule now? Or maybe they are testing the new system where each cabin attendant has 25 rooms instead of 15?

We received the same alert prior to our sailing on Nov 27th, we were the earliest scheduled (11am) but we pushed it an hour like they requested.

When we arrived at 10:45am the terminal was already full of people, obviously the alert was unheeded by many.  No one asked us about our "time slot".

This in my opinion led to the extremely long line to get through security.

Not sure this will relate given the new terminal. On our September cruise from Galveston the the boarding process wasn't horrible but not very smooth and the disembarkation we had, off Liberty, was total chaos with no supervision. If they don't have the staff there to enforce procedure it doesn't work. Over the past few years going out of Florida and California we did not experience the same thing we did a few months ago.
