tonyfsu21
As stated above, I do recall ordering bottles to the stateroom for a "fee". Can anyone confirm? RobertJaf

whenismynextcruise
That is one big up charge for convenience on a bottle that normally would cost $7.99......

To be clear, the bottles in that link are only offered via a pre-cruise purchase. That is one big up charge for convenience on a bottle that normally would cost $7.99...... Of course. Every hotel, bar and restaurant upcharges for alcohol at their establishment. It is unfair to compare the price of a drink on a cruise ship to how much it costs at your local liquor store. I'm usually the first one to bellyache about booze prices, but compared to the cost of a rum and coke in the bars on the ship, I think it's an acceptable upcharge for the convenience if you like to have drinks in your room. pamw
We have ordered a Cheese and Wine platter in the past ( bottle of wine ) it was great for a relaxing evening on a warm night sat on the Balcony
whenismynextcruise
I didnt think I was being unfair. I was only commenting on the price. Considering the amount of posts there are on the pricing of drink packages, tip amounts, dining package pricing, terminal parking fees and other shipboard upcharges I thought it was appropriate. marti314
We all need to remember when we sail on RCL ships they cost anywhere from 500 million to 1.5 billion dollars to build. This is a publicly traded company that needs to make money for its shareholders. They have every right to perform market analysis to determine pricing for everything they do. One might argue why some nightclubs can get 300 - 400 dollars for a "bottle" of 25.00 liquor. Some might say thats crazy that people pay it but those prices keep rising so there are people that find it valuable. The great thing is we all have choices!
