Carotthat
Hello, Is it possible to book connecting staterooms in different categories? Like one with balcony, the other one without? Thanks
KristiZ
I have seen connecting cabins of different categories on one or two deck plans, but they are VERY rare.
Carotthat
Thanks. I was thinking about booking two different categories eg balcony and outside online, with cabin assigned by royal. Would the system have a feedback, if this is not possible? Or do I have to call them?

There are few connecting cabins as it is, much less any that might happen to be the categories you're looking for. Do you already have a specific ship in mind? Ryan79
Yes you can, but that will take some research and luck on your part. I know some suites have connecting balcony rooms next to them, but the key is to have both available at the time of booking WAAAYTOOO
WAAAYTOOO
Some of the “older” Oasis ships have connecting suite/balconies but they seem to have discontinued that in the latter designs. Most people would rather not have another stateroom connected to their suite so I think they stopped doing that for the most part.
Carotthat
We are planning Alaska next year, so maybe on Radiance eg. There aren't balcony connecting outside cabins ever available?

A Balcony cabin connecting with an Oceanview cabin is not very common with Royal Caribbean and does not appear to be available on Radiance. Yeah, I was referring to Mariner which I know for fact has this feature with some suites. I’m in agreement with you that it’s probably not on Quantum or Oasis class from what I have seen. Carotthat
The cruise ships in that time of year are Radiance, Enchantement (Vision class) and Quantum+Ovation (Quantum class). The Quantum class cruises don't look very suitable to our trip - so there are maybe no connection options on the Radiance and Enchantement? Everything else is same-cabin-type connecting. Radiance has one Owner Suite/Junior Suite connecting cabin set on deck 10 and everything else is same-cabin-type. Coda_Sarah
I'm looking to book a Grand Suite on Allure that connects with an ocean-view balcony. My brother would occupy the ocean view balcony cabin. Are the walls between the balconies able to be moved so it's one large balcony? Does anyone know? Also, I see it's really close to the elevators/stairway. Do either cabin (grand suite or ocean view balcony) face an opening to the stairway/elevator area? BrianB
Not regarding any of the ships mentioned, but…on the Anthem, there is a special configuration area where there is a Junior Suite, a Balcony and an Inside Studio cabin. All are connected with a common hallway that can be closed off and accessible for those three cabins. The combined balcony is huge. Great for families who want to travel together…but not ‘together’.
