Casino promotion question

Recommended Posts

I am using a casino promotion for my October 2022 cruise.  I got a free inside room and wondered if I would be eligible to bid for an upgrade?  It's still a bit away, but I was just curious.  If so, will it cause a problem with my promotion?  This is the first casino deal for me.  🙂

Thank you in advance.

If you are talking about RU, that shouldn't be a problem. It is a third-party service, so they don't see any promotions or what you paid.

Yes, you can place a bid with Royal Up.  You might consider calling the casino number  and inquire as to how much it might cost to purchase the cabin you are interested in.  I did this for a free interior on Adventure 9 night sailing and went to an interior promenade for about $140.  They wanted a lot more for the balcony as this is a New England Canada cruise and those are highly desirable.  I would have considered the Royal Up but I wanted to be able to select my cabin.

@Tania I agree with the info above, definitely call them.  We upgraded from a free oceanview to a balcony for only $88 when we booked the cruise. We have only saliled in suites, so I will try for the Royalup when we get to that time, but I thought that was a pretty amazing deal and will be happy with it alone given that rock bottom price!

This is excellent advice.  Always check to see if an old fashioned upgrade would be less than a minimum RU bid.  That was the case on one of my bookings not long ago.  It won’t always be the case but it could be.
