roiemike
I received an email this afternoon telling me that the excursion I had booked to go to the waterpark had been canceled due to operational issues. I understand that no one has control over these things at Royal Caribbean but am looking for some suggestions of nice things to do in this port. Any and all advice will be gladly taken, thanks Mike
Pooch
If you aren’t required to take a ships excursion, we loved just walking down the shopping strip, forget what it’s called. It was a $2 shuttle ride or a just slightly more taxi ride. It’s along the beach with great outdoor restaurants & bars. The locals will try to entice you to their shops but we found them very friendly and not really pushy. Bought some gorgeous stoneware, wish I bought more! D Alt
I didn't really care for Costa Maya myself. So unless you find another excursion to take, I'd stay on the ship. the village is just one big sales pitch.
AshleyDillo
If you aren't traveling with unvaccinated children, Maya Chan is a nice resort to spend the day. It is all inclusive including transportation. https://costamayabeachresort.com/

PG Cruiser
A couple I have befriended on the Jewel last week rented a golf cart to drive around the island for $60. They said they enjoyed it.
Pooch
Costa Maya is the mainland, not an island.

Seeing the place with water all around made it feel like an island. I’m from an archipelago of 7000+ islands so everything looks like an island to me.
