The  Ministry of Health  has prohibited the  Royal Caribbean company Allure of the Seas cruise ship from entering Cádiz  , which was due to arrive this weekend in  Navantia Cádiz  to undergo repair work. About 300 people from different countries were on board the ship.

As explained by Europa Press, currently what is allowed  is for the minimum security crew to be on board,  which could be approximately 30 people, while the forecast was the arrival of about 300 people  from different parts of the European Union.

As the SER has advanced, in the resolution of the Ministry of Health, signed by the deputy director general for Foreign Health,  Fernando Carreras Vaquer,  the Government recalls that by order TMA / 330/220 of April 8,  the entry ban on passenger ships from the Republic of Italy  and cruise ships of any origin destined for other ports, to limit the spread and spread of covid-19.

In its sole article  , the express prohibition of entry to Spanish ports  of cruise-type passenger ships from any origin was established, although the possibility of making exceptions that would allow lifting the prohibitions on ships, which must be authorized, was contemplated. However, according to the resolution,  "there is no need to lift the ban on the entry of the Allure of the Seas ship in the port of Cádiz."

The cruise ship ' Allure of the Seas ', of the Royal Caribbean company, will enter the shipyard of Navantia Cádiz on the 21st to be repaired after the Ministry of Health lifted this Thursday the entry ban that it had imposed.

Initially, the Ministry of Health had prohibited the entry of the cruise liner into Cádiz for repair, arguing that the crew exceeded the stipulated limit of 40 crew members by the legislation of the State of Alarm .

"We have sent to Health, point by point, the minimum cruise certificate as well as a report of the work to be done in the shipyard where it is justified that the crew on board is required to carry out the works," he said. Gema Rosso, manager of the BC Agency, the ship's consignee, explained to this newspaper.

«Thank the collaboration of Puertos del Estado, the Association of Consignees of Spain and the president of the Merchant Navy. In the end we have all put a little pressure together. State Ports was for the work, who did not give the go-ahead was Health, "said Rosso.

Finally, and after the mediation of State Ports, Merchant Marine and the Spanish Association of Consignees, Foreign Health has authorized the entry of the cruise ship in the shipyard with a crew of 300 people from different parts of the European Union. The endowment has been confined within two months since they left Barcelona. Since then, no one has entered or left the ship.

Now, the only impediment may be the weather because the strong storm that hits the Bay of Cádiz at first made it possible to establish the exact arrival date of the ship. Finally it seems that it will be next Thursday 21 since by that date it is estimated that the storm will pass and that the weather will be calm enough so that the ' Allure of the Seas ' can enter shipyards to repair

Once docked at the Navantia shipyard, the repair work is scheduled to last for about a month and will focus on the ship's navigation and propulsion elements.

Technical stop in Gibraltar

The ship was in Gibraltar this Thursday, where it has made a technical call to transfer crew to the cruise ship 'Jewel of the Seas'. As reported by the Gibraltar Port Authority in a note, in accordance with the decision of the Government of Gibraltar to suspend the visits of cruises to Gibraltar during the current crisis of the Covid-19 disease, the presence of the two cruises was exclusively to refuel , stock up, unload garbage and transfer crew between vessels.

In this sense, it has indicated that no member of the crew could disembark from the vessels, except for those people who were going to transfer from one vessel to another.

Okay riddle me this? Since Allure was closer to the port in Spain for repairs, why not send the other ship that was in Gibraltar to pick up the crew from Allure instead of Allure returning and disembarking those crew?  Allure is the one with Izopod issues and not the smaller ship. Things that make you go hmmmmm.
