Someone who has been on Liberty more recently than I could probably weigh in on this better, but I think Cafe Promenade is another good stop for little sandwiches and salads.
I also really enjoy the salad bar in the Windjammer for lunchtimes, as well as the Tutti Salad options in the MDR at lunch.

So, I know it's not necessarily RC related but just a reminder for those of us in the UK (or with access to the UK tv channels via the wonder of the internet) that the new series of Cruising with Jane McDonald starts tonight at 9pm on Ch5 ?
I'm almost as excited for this as I am for my actual cruise! And by the time the series finishes, it'll be about time for my cruise ??

Sure, why not! In all of the threads I've read on MDR attire, I've rarely seen shoes mentioned. It usually comes down to whether shorts and/or t-shirts are being worn.
If you wear your hiking shoes with a summer dress, you'll probably just be seen as "cool" or "trendy." ?

Cappuccinos and lattes can be ordered in the MDR. For anything else, you can go to Cafe Latte-Tudes on Deck 5 in the Centrum.

I do plan on wearing some of my bulkiest things on the plane.  Paring down what I want to take is probably going to be the key though.  Do you thing my hiking shoes will look good with my dinner dress? ?

Thanks everyone.  I am going to pay in full before we leave so there is less to do when we get there and contact them to let them know when we dock so they will be aware that we may be cutting it close.  I was just having one of those 3 am worry sessions where I panicked that I wouldn't get off the ship quickly and there wouldn't be any transportation waiting by the time I got off.  I also wondered how I am going to fit all the necessary footwear and bulky warm clothing in carry-ons too.  I am one of those weirdos that refuses to check bags.

Plaintiff sought to amend the S&C and add Punitive damages, which is not a factor since this is a negligence cause of action and not an intentional tort. Court denied their pleading since it's discretionary. See attached verdict sheet. Just sharing some knowledge.?

McDonald's is currently being sued for not offering a Quarter Pounder without cheese which used to be on the menu. The plaintiffs claim they're being overcharged when they order it without cheese as they're not being compensated for that which they have taken off when ordering.

I'm just trying to have a conversation here and this is the second time you've been antagonistic in this thread alone. Notice that I said "could" rather than "were."
Perhaps we should follow the administrator's advice and stick to the topic of the case, which I was attempting to do.

Great point.  And don't they not even show up sometimes on shorter sailings?

This is way off topic but I'm going to share this anyway....while tossing summer vacation ideas around lately we asked the kids what they wanted to do.  We've done Disney the last two summers so that was off the table (waiting for Star Wars land to open before returning).  Thought about going to New York or Chicago for a land vacation ?.  We basically asked the kids what they wanted.  First question, "Is there going to be a lot of walking in NYC and Chicago?".  Yes.  Next comment from the kids, "Ummm....Why can't we just go on another cruise?" ?Wonder where they get these ideas from??
I have always said and still believe (so far) that cruising is the best value vacation.  Especially for a family.

Remember, though, that there's no guaranty when or if the 10 drink punch card will show up. Typically, it will not show up before the 4th day, although that policy may have changed.

So true. I was looking at my cruise history and noticed that I only had 9 cruises before my son. Since his birth we've doubled that number and he'll be on his 19th cruise next month. Having a child is what really made us fall in love with cruising simply because it is so convenient with children.

    Hello all!
Amanda and Lam here! Been reading and absorbing the thousands of hints, tips, insights and reviews on this blog.  This is by far the best forum for cruising I have come across and so glad its RC specific! (Matt and team: you rock!)
Cruising Anthem on Nov 25th with our 3 year old son. It will be our first cruise and the threads here are what helped us pick our ship, dates, departure port, etc. We have done the all-inclusive thing but never cruising. I like to plan (like a lot of you on here) and make sure we can get the most bang for our buck. The advice you have all given has saved us over $2000 in "First Cruiser" mistakes- no joke. It really is easy to let the price get away from you. Things like the insights on if drink packages are worth it and rebooking stuff in the cruise planner when there are sales have been game changers that we would have not known about if we didn't learn it here from you wonderful ppl! ?
The live blogs are my favorite posts on here. They are informative and help scratch the cruise itch by living through others. My goal is to pay it forward with a live blog once I am on the ship. Its an 11 day cruise and my first one with our 3 year old so it might be a lofty goal but I am going to try!  From what I have seen Anthem tends to have an older demographic (hope this doesn't offend anyone but its honestly a top reason we booked the ship) so hoping a family with a young one provides a different perspective.
Thanks again to everyone! We hope this is the first cruise of many to come!

It's cheaper for us to fly to San Juan then it is to fly to Fort Lauderdale or Miami. We live in Houston.
Plus we get to go to better destinations. Sailing out of Galveston means going to Mexico...been there, done that.
We recently flew into San Juan and sailed on Adventure, it was the easiest embarkation and disembarkation we have ever experienced.
We looking into more cruises out of San Juan....better bargain for us.   Plus we are all for helping this beautiful place get back on their feet.

Agreed! My reply wasn't meant to imply that it was frivolous. I was responding to the fact that companies are sued every day of the week as mentioned by @twangster ; I wasn't passing judgment on this case. With regards to the employee, the injury resulted in chronic pain, potential malpractice in the treatment of her injuries, lost wages, minimal disability pay, and the like resulting from trying to prevent someone from being injured by a closing door. It also appears that there may have been a safety or design flaw in the way the doors operated, allowing someone's hand to be pulled into the pocket the the door slides into if his or her hand is operating the latch/handle.
I apologize if my reply wasn't taken as such.

I completely agree, which is why I have never booked a cruise vacation through them. Any change results in a $75 charge each time (or as the last time I inquired). Hence why I use Michelle at MEI Travel (sponsor alert).
As an added benefit of a TA, we took a cruise on a competing cruise line that offers 12 beverage vouchers per North American cruiser. We received ours, but our friends who boarded two days later at another port did not receive theirs. Guest Services said North American Customer Service needed to handle it and contact the ship, while Customer Service said that Guest Services aboard the ship needed to handle it. As a result, I emailed my TA and she was able to get it sorted out even though it was NOT her fault.
