  1. Added! Enjoy your cruises. Added. I should have known better since the Legend was retired. There's only one LOS now, so that was my fault. Posted. Enjoy your first Diamond cruise. Done! Added. Enjoy! Posted. Enjoy. I use MEI travel myself, which is a sponsor of this site, for both Royal and non-Royal cruises. Just booked another cruise with Michelle at MEI and have cruises booked with her through 2020 and just returned from one to the Arctic Circle with Holland America that Michelle booked for us. Enjoy. I love those little last minute fun cruises. I used to do them all the time when Royal still had a ship in California. Added. Great ship! Have fun! Enjoy! Enjoy your first cruise. The Brilliance is a great ship. Have a great trip. I love the southern itinerary. Have fun. I love Barcelona and have two cruises from there over the next year. Enjoy! There are other posters on this sailing with you, too!
  2. Fixed! Thanks for the correction.
  3. You will be asked to select what you want for dinner in the MDR the night before. There are GF items available in the Windjammer, but sometimes you need to ask a crew member as some of the items are kept behind the counter. The same is true for GF cookies at the coffee bar in the promenade. We enjoyed the specialty restaurants a little bit more as we didn't have to preorder our meals. Seek out the chef in the Windjammer. If you don't see him, just ask someone to get him. He will walk you around every item in the buffet and identify what is/is not gluten free.
  4. You'll need to purchase internet on the ship. However, if you're in port, you'll have cell service and won't need to rely on the internet. If you've bought internet, you can continue to use that until you leave the ship provided your phone supports wifi calling.
  5. By the title of this thread, I thought you were referring to my tablemate on my first Disney cruise.
  6. Any MEI agent can also help you with any cruise booking, not just Royal Caribbean. I have had @michelle book Disneyworld and Holland America, Princess, and MSC cruises as well. I'm not advocating that anyone deviate from Royal, but if they're not sailing the itinerary you're looking for, your MEI agents can still help with your bookings.
  7. I'm largely opposed to credit cards with an annual fee as I usually can't justify the perks based on what I get from the card. My current favorite travel card without fees is my Costco Visa as I earn 3% on all travel-related purchases/expenses and there's no foreign transaction charge. If you'll use the perks of the AMEX card and you'll save in the end, then I'd say go for it. The only downside about AMEX is that fewer merchants take it than Visa and MC.
  8. Added! Enjoy your cruise Both have been added, albeit a couple of days after sailing. Enjoy your B2B. Added. Can't wait to hear about the trip. Both have been added. Enjoy your cruises; they've all been added to the list. Done! You are officially the last person on the list! I'm assuming Liberty of the Seas here since Legend has left the fleet. If not, let me know and I'll correct it. You are now! Added! Enjoy.
  9. I don't recall any noise from below from the restaurants or the music at night in Central Park, and our room was right on top of Giovanni's Table.
  10. I'm pretty sure they did away with the requirement to prepay gratuities, too, as stated above. However, the benefit of prepaying then is that the amount is locked in so you won't be affected by a price increase later on if one occurs. In addition, there's less on your account to pay off when you leave the ship.
  11. It was a ship excursion and we went pretty far out as it was an all day excursion that included lunch. There were some glacier fed lakes that had some very unusually colors, one of which was called Emerald Lake. Another was called Mirror Lake because it perfectly reflected the trees and mountains that surrounded it. I remember many photo stops including one at the the border, one at the top of the mountain overlooking Skagway, and then at the lakes I mentioned above in addition to a few more. You could also do it on your own by renting a car.
  12. Royal's website is notorious for screwups like this. We booked a specialty restaurant on our first night leaving San Juan. When we boarded, we found out that the restaurant only opened after muster at 8:30 even though the others were open from 5:30 to 8:00 and then again after the muster drill. Of course, no one onboard could explain why they would allow a reservation to be made.
  13. We were on the Serenade a couple of years ago and ended in Copenhagen as well. We simply took one of the taxis that were waiting at the port. It seemed to be the most economical, easiest, and fastest way for us to get to the airport. You might want to try the roll call boards on Cruise Critic to see if you can share a transfer with someone from your cruise.
  14. I do. It's LOUD! We were in room 7094 (extended balcony), which is the first room off the Centrum. It was very loud and the music carried well into the cabin. If you were down the hall, it would likely not be noticed, though. We were able to cope with the noise using a white noise app on our phone, but light sleepers who go to bed early might have problems.
  15. The comedians were so good on the Allure that we went and saw them multiple times. If you show up 20-30 minutes early and line up, there's a pretty good chance that you'll get in. We were never turned away, but once we did have to sit apart as standby guests.
  16. In Juneau, we like to take the shuttle bus available on the pier out to Mendenhall Glacier and hike out there. We've also done Mount Roberts Tramway and that provided for some nice views and hiking, too. Although touristy and a bit expensive, we did enjoy Tracy's Crab Shack. Personally, I'd go for the crab bisque over the legs. The bisque was phenomenal. In Skagway, we did a Yukon territory tour by bus. Very scenic and we had the opportunity to see bears along the way. Ketchikan is a fun town to just walk around and explore in my opinion.
  17. I haven't stayed in a promenade view room yet (have one booked in 547 days), so I can't compare. However, I did stay in a Central Park View room on the Allure and absolutely loved it. We stayed in room 9593 and @Matt did a photo tour of the cabin using my photos. You can view that tour here: https://www.royalcaribbeanblog.com/2017/01/07/photo-tour-of-category-cv-central-park-view-stateroom-allure-of-the-seas I really liked the design of the cabin, but particularly liked the window seat and the view out to Central Park. It has been one of my favorite cabins to date and I really liked the extra seating provided by the bay window.
  18. Added! Done! Enjoy! You're on the list! Enjoy your anniversary. Consider 150 Central Park to celebrate. It was my favorite specialty restaurant on the Allure.
  19. Enjoy the Anthem and your B2B on the Rhapsody. Added. I'm 547 days out from my next Royal Caribbean cruise if that makes you feel any better. Great ship. Enjoy your cruise. You'll be onboard with @monctonguy From S to XXL. Enjoy! Added, added, removed! I'm glad I'm not the only one playing cruise roulette with Michelle. ?
  20. And significantly cheaper as you could order for the entire family for that one delivery price.
  21. Kettles aren't unhears of as they're provided on sailing out of England. I, too, would like the WJ to be open later as well as a cooked to order 24 venue like available on NCL.
  22. Only Oasis class ships have JRs open for breakfast.
  23. My wife is probably too motion sickness and we've hit rough seas in Alaska, the Caribbean, and the North Sea. However, she's always been fine with a low, midship cabin. Even when it's been uncomfortable elsewhere on the ship, she was fine once she went back to the cabin. Think of the ship like a teeter-totter. You're going to have the most moment at the ends and the least movement in the middle. Also, keep in mind that the Adventure of still a big ship and larger than the biggest ships most of the other cruise lines have in their fleets.
  24. We typically go mid afternoon or after an excursion and haven't experienced crowds. Mornings are always crazy whether at a gym on land or at sea. I do half marathon with a goal to do a full marathon by 50, so you might enjoy this podcast of the Royal Caribbean Blog about a runner who ran marathons on each of the ships. https://www.royalcaribbeanblog.com/podcast/episode-171-marathon-royal-caribbean-runner
  25. I don't quite see this as a bait and switch, but it definitely is inconvenient. For what it's worth, I haven't had trouble getting appointments onboard the few times I've gone to the spa for services. You might also find other specials, including cruise planner sales, that offer a better discounts.
