  1. Do you by any chance have any info on bungalows? Nothing on my cruise planner for October and I don't know if they are sold out or they just don't have them until after they redo South Beach. Thanks.
  2. So excited for you! Are you packed yet???
  3. @WAAAYTOOO, I am proud to have had the honor of giving you your 4000th reaction! Congrats!
  4. Exactly what I was saying in my post. I have heard that Princess and HAL are OK, but because I won't contribute to Carnival they are "dead to me" also. Sorry, but I REALLY like Shark Tank. ?
  5. These really do work. We used these for my daughter's motion sickness over 30 years ago and they are still highly rated to this day. You can buy them on Amazon (4.6 rating) or at Walmart, Target. etc. for about $8.50 so certainly worth trying.
  6. This is not exactly about Royal Caribbean, but can certainly affect many of us here. Citibank has announced that they will be discontinuing many benefits associated with their credit cards including travel insurance. Their Costco Visa had better coverage and cash back than the BOA RCL card and I have booked 2 future cruises using it. I just called Citi and was told that the effective date is Sept 22 and as long as the bookings were made before that, we are covered. I hope we don't have to find out the hard way if that is true! I'll have to read more details, especially because we have paid just the deposits so far and not in full. Anyway, here is a link to one of the many articles about this change. If you have used your Citi cards for any travel, price protection, etc. you may need to re evaluate.
  7. That is REALLY exciting. Happy sailing!
  8. Hmmm...I started early also, as have others. But IIRC, wasn't it you that started this trend???? We just followed the leader! Asterisks for all!
  9. Really enjoyed your last blog and scopes so will be eagerly following again. Happy sailing!
  10. Isn't that the "Love Boat"? Held 668 passengers...no I did not leave out a zero!
  11. First "cruise" was on one of the smallest Navy ships...a destroyer escort. That sucker rocked so hard, there were times the mast almost touched the ocean. First pleasure cruise was a 2 night cruise to nowhere on a Carnival ship. Second cruise was a Canada cruise also on Carnival. That was SO bad and corporate was SO uncaring and unhelpful that we vowed to never put another penny into their coffers. So we switched to Royal in 2010. We have never been disappointed with RCL and never looked back. But still haven't done Hawaii or the Med. At least having the bucket list gives us something to look forward to.
  12. Hi @Cruisely Tell your friend that there are so many effective and inexpensive preventive remedies. We always bring a variety of ginger products and some over the counter medicines. Fortunately, we have NEVER had to use any of them and on a ship the size of Symphony, she'll probably be fine. When is the sailing? If she was sailing from the Northeast in the winter there'd be more of a chance of a lot of ship movement, but she should be fine for this trip. You can also tell her that the very first time I was on a ship (and it was a LOT smaller than Symphony), the first night was the best night sleep I have EVER had! Some nights when I lie awake, I wish I could recreate it.
  13. Hi @Kelly N. We were at Wonderland on Symphony last month. You can see my thoughts and pictures on page 4 of my live blog here Scroll about a little more 1/2 way down the page. The only thing I'd add here is that I don't think the Mad Hatter is on all ships.
  14. I think that's great. Let them look!
  15. Thanks. I'm happy it wasn't any worse. Hopefully, there will be consequences for the driver if he was, in fact, negligent.
  16. All very true statements. But to me these accidents are even sadder when they happen while you are far away from home and family.
  17. Apparently this happened on Saturday, but I just saw it. https://www.google.com/amp/s/www.newsweek.com/cruise-ship-passengers-rescued-taxi-bus-crash-sea-st-maarten-royal-caribbean-freedom-seas-1445458%3famp=1
  18. OMG...what an itinerary! Between traveling to and back from the US and all those port stops I can't even imagine how exhausted I'd be. I'm sure it would be worth it, but for now it's just a dream. Plus, I'm pretty sure DW wants to do Hawaii (never been there either) before that. @hayley_bopp, I envy your travel energy!
  19. Really, Joe? And all this time I thought you were the shy, quiet type! ?
  20. Depending on the ship there will probably be only 2 outlets. I'd suggest getting a NON surge extender like those shown above by @KristenM or me.
  21. One of the Key perks is a debarkation breakfast in the MDR and it was a fabulous menu. After that an escort came to walk us off the ship to our luggage. I think we had breakfast at about 8:15 and left the ship at about 9:30.
  22. We had the Bogo on Symphony last month and went to the kiosk upon boarding. The very nice young man there allowed to make reservations for any night we wanted. We did not choose night 1. We happened to pick night 2, but didn't have to. Like I always say, it never hurts to ask.
  23. I'm no electrician, but after years of pulling plugs in and out it happens. If something in your home stays plugged in, then usually no problems. My wife is a "don't want anything on the counter" person. So after many times plugging appliances in and out, we have had to replace some outlets. I look at it as one of those "if that's my biggest problem, then life is good".
