How long does an iFly session last? As in, from the time that you turn up, do a briefing, get dressed, take your turn, watch everyone else, etc? Also, through Cruise Planner, I am only able to book two people at a time. I want to book 4 adults, but have had to put my wife and I at 4:40pm and my brother and sister-in-law at 4:50. I wonder if we will be in the same group (whenever I see footage there appears to be groups of a dozen people suited up waiting to take their turn).

Entertainment reservations on Quantum Class
KWofPerth replied to KWofPerth's topic in Royal Caribbean Discussion
Thanks for that info BaikG. Whereabouts is the box office located? In Two70* or somewhere else? -
So clearly not a guide dog then. If they're going to allow emotional support animals, then maybe they should make cruisers pay a full fare for them.

I thought service animals were banned recently (guide dogs excepted) ??

Dropping Luggage at Cruise Terminal?
KWofPerth replied to Lovestotravel's topic in Royal Caribbean Discussion
Agree with the above. In Sydney, we drop our bags at the designated luggage drop-off and then go about our business before embarkation. e.g. breakfast at a local cafe, etc. -
2 Jan 2020 sailing on Quantum out of Singapore for me. The "starwater" show in 270* is loaded on the app (not the website cruise planner) but is not available to book. No other shows available.

No, I don't think so. You can obviously buy drinks in those places, I'm not sure it's worth your while re-boarding the ship every time you want a new drink.

Can you check in and then leave the boat?

Oh, today is your boarding day? Have a great cruise! -
Do NOT do this.

Haha, only prison-style dude. But seriously, I'd pack it in my suitcase and make sure that my name was on the luggage tag. That way it will be you that gets called down to the security room I think.

I forgot to mention, you can drop your bags off at the OPT before you check-in. Do so at say, 11am, then stroll around Circular Quay to the Opera House (about a 15 minute walk non-stop). Done. If the tour finishes at 2pm, there's no chance of missing the ship. -

The Opera House is walking distance from the Overseas Passenger Terminal at Circular Quay, so there's no problem about missing the ship due to traffic. I don't know the procedure for disembarking on embarkation day, but if it were me, I'd simply do the tour first and then check in for the cruise. -
"I thought that you can't book anything on the app until you are onboard? " You may well be correct @WannaCruise . In fact, I hope you are. The 'Reserve Now' button was, like I said, greyed out. When the call centre rep told me that the show was booked out, I assumed that I had been too slow to get on the app and make a booking. I had my doubts at the time as to what I was being told, but anyway, I will try again once I am onboard in January.
-
So far my bookings have been done via the website, so I can't really advise. However, what I saw when I tried to book a show in the 270* theatre was that there was a "reserve now" button, which happened to be greyed out, with a prompt to call the 1800 number to speak to somebody (which I did, and they informed me it was booked out). One other thing I noticed was that RipCord was not showing in the app until it was available to book (which I had already done via the website anyway). So if you're seeing RipCord in the app but it's not available for booking yet, then I don't know what this means. Probably nothing.

I had the same question for Quantum a while back. The response seemed to indicate approximately 75-60 days before sail date. In my case, the North Star has still not appeared. Looks like I will be booking that one onboard. RipCord and the paid FlowRider sessions appeared within that 75-60 days window. One word of warning: the shows in 270* did not appear on the website cruise planner but appeared in the App. They booked out within 24 hours and I missed a spot. So sharpen your ninja App skills and be ready to make a booking for any shows you want to see. I am hoping that slots will re-appear either before sailing, or once onboard.

My suggestion would be to set them loose and let them roam free. As newly minted adults (legally) they will appreciate the freedom and I'm sure they'll find things of interest to them. As parents, you get credit for not being overly protective, while safe in the knowledge that they're somewhere on the ship. Win-win.

When is it Best to Book North Star?
KWofPerth replied to WannaCruise's topic in Royal Caribbean Discussion
Does anyone know when reservations open up? My Quantum cruise is 52 days away and it has not appeared in the Cruise Planner yet. Thanks. -
With my cruise 55 days away, I am unable to reserve a place to see Starwater in the 270degrees theatre via the app. It is playing on about 8 different timeslots, however the app prompted me to call RCI direct, to make a booking. After doing so, I was advised that the show is booked out entirely. This surprises me, given the cruise is still 8 weeks away. Is this common? I sense I may not have been given accurate information by the lovely call centre worker, but thought I would check on the blog to see how quickly shows tend to book out. Thanks team!

The Number One Item Lost on a Ship is...
KWofPerth replied to twangster's topic in Royal Caribbean Discussion
That's a genius tip! I've never lost my phone, but I have lost my dignity on the FlowRider a couple of times. -
What's going on in the Whitsundays? There's been a few in recent times.
-
I never pack. My wife insists on doing it.

I have a peanut allergy, and have not had an issue onboard. That said, I didn't specifically advise any staff, as I know what foods carry a high risk and just avoid them. If I'm ever in doubt, that's when I ask. As for the "May contain traces of peanuts" , I just ignore that, as it's a legal a$$-covering phrase. Even packets of peanuts have been known to have it printed on the packet ?
