I don’t think it was sharing drinks as much as a way to squeeze more money out of us. I think Royal has proven over all the changes over last few years that they are going to maximize their profits at all cost and this is just another way of getting a few extra bucks out many of us.

Often times it’s tough getting drinks in the mdr, we always bring a full drink in and get another as soon as the bar waiter comes around.

We have had my older daughter go with a group younger than hers in the past. Her sister and cousin were in the 6-8 group and she just turned 9 so they let her. I think it depends on how many kids are on the ship.

In my experience it’s a roll of the dice with a case of water. Sometimes we get it with our checked luggage and sometimes we get the naughty note. I’ve never tried bringing soda on.

Your right about that if I was sailing solo it wouldn’t be a bad deal but with when everyone over 6 has to purchase it, it gets quite pricey. I. Still not of fan that royal has turned to nickel and diming for everything now though.

It’s not a bad idea but for a family of four it would cost us $700 for a 7 night cruise. It just seems like a money grab to me, and them taking more of “what’s included away”.

I’m with you, we get ready for dinner and sleep in the room. We just aren’t in the room enough to justify the extra charge. I’ve been looking because we are only about 10 points away from diamond but we typically have been using the kids sail free deals and it’s almost double for a junior suite than a regular room.

You will have no issue whatsoever with him wearing shorts. Many with no issues still wear shorts and they are not turned away. The dress code is merely a suggestion.

Appropriate attire is just a suggestion, wear whatever your comfortable with. Dry swimwear for men will look like plain shorts anyway unless you go with the Speedo haha

That’s just an excuse imo, what’s next charging for the shows? Same principle, they could just institute a standby line like the many other things that are in high demand.
