  1. Just looked now as well....Wow...Symphony prices are expensive! Going to wait till tonight to discuss with hubby...
  2. Awesome news about the upgrade! Can't wait to see the pics and blog from Anthem since we're going too in a few months. Do you get to keep the balcony cabin for both legs of your B2B?
  3. So @Matt this is a sign for a GC for summer 2019? Better decide soon, @KathyC needs to know so she can start planning. If she keeps searching around her computer might catch on fire again! ?
  4. Perfect! I knew I was probably forgetting one. Thanks Matt.
  5. Thanks. Symphony is out for now though because I would be looking to book one before Symphony gets to Florida. And I don't want to fly with my kids to Europe.
  6. Trying to potentially book another cruise (within the next year) but looking for a ship that has slides (for the kiddies). I only know of Harmony and Liberty that has them right now. I am missing any? Are any ships up for refurb soon that will get them?
  7. My husband...a die hard Leafs fan wore his Toronto Maple Leafs jersey to a Detroit Red Wings vs. Ottawa Senators game in Detroit. I was afraid he was going to get jumped or shot lol...
  8. Wouldn't know...furthest north I have gone in Canada is Vancouver and that is barely Northern lol.
  9. I was just thinking the same. I need to book a cruise on Freedom too just by looking at these. Never sailed the Freedom class but will definitely give it some thought now. These pics in and around Boleros and the ones from Deck 11 would be enough for me all week just to read and relax. Great pics @twangster, keep them coming please ?
  10. Don't stereotype all of us Canucks...it was quite warm here in Southern Ontario until the last two weeks. I was still in flip flops! Sadly, not anymore.
  11. Ugh...I cannot imagine starting back early August. Would rather the way we have it here and go to end of June and start back right after Labour Day in September. That is one of my highlights...Rubbing it into all my students who are Red Wings, Blackhawks, and Leafs fans who the real champs are (Let's Go Pens!). We project it on the big screen in June in my classroom! Lol!
  12. We were in a GS on Harmony. Waited till 1pm. Got on board at 10:45am. Headed to do WJ recon. Then straight to CK for lunch and waited in the Suite Lounge till 1pm. Lovely way to start. Take me back....
  13. Please don't. Even if you are not eating in the MDR, you are still dining somewhere. Those "dining room services" tips are shared among all dining staff. They work so hard and unbelievably long hours for a living. The gratuities you pay are small in comparison to what you are already spending on a cruise. I personally would rather skip an excursion than take out gratuities.
  14. Depending what ship you are on, they do have some special events for suite guests. On the Oasis class ships suite guests (Sky class and above) are usually invited to some kind of sail away party on the first day on the suite deck with drinks and snacks. And then there is usually some kind of sail away party on the helipad from one of the ports (usually Labadee) where there are again drinks and senior crew members there to chat with. Same thing, Sky Class and above only. I don't know about the other classes of ships and what they do with their suite guests because we have only sailed in a suite on the Oasis class ships.
  15. On CC there was some mention in a few reviews about those cabins being below the WJ but people did not complain about noise. Personally we just wouldn't take chance that's all. Our usual cruise rules are nothing right under or above public areas and nothing close to Adventure Ocean. It's likely fine. Lots of people stay in those rooms and report no noise.
  16. I haven't never been in an aft cabin (although it has never been a problem but I still worry about motion) but I have stayed on the hump before. The little bit of extra space is nice on the balcony and I like that it is midship so you never feel much at all in terms of motion. But as @JLMoran mentioned, ships are so big now it's rarely an issue. If I had to choose I would choose hump over aft any day simply due to Deck 10 being right under the Windjammer. They open/setup pretty early in the morning so who knows what kind of noise you might hear? Maybe none at all but I would not want to take that chance.
  17. Love that description! Lol. We usually go if it's on an Oasis class ship only because they usually do a mini aqua show during the presentation.
  18. It's exactly what @RestingBirds described and it includes Platinum and above. The last couple I have been to it was just drinks, no snacks. The captain and other managers say a few words. They recognize some Pinnacle members etc.
  19. Hmm...I have never seen that question either...but when you log into your cruise planner and purchase the package it will assign the package to two names on your reservation. The same two names will need to be used for booking all 4 nights I am assuming. However, while onboard, I don't think they actually check each and every name of who shows up. One of the two names will need to be present for sure at each dinner because they ask for your seapass card. But the second person might be able to get by?? The way I see it, it's kind of a touchy subject, just like sharing a drink package, but let's not get into that. It would probably be safer and maybe cheaper to get 2 separate BOGO packages if you only want two nights each in specialty dining.
  20. School year in Canada runs till the very end of June ?
  21. Have a great time! Looking forward to following along. It is -5 degrees Celsius (no idea what that is in Fahrenheit) here in southern Ontario so I'll be following along with envy.
  22. This is exactly what we do except @Gears explained it much better than I did earlier. ?
