  1. Which GC were you pricing out? It could be that they sold out of the group rates already. That can happen. They only block a certain number of cabins for the group with a group rate and if those are gone, you pay prevailing rates. That is my understanding. If it’s for Brilliance, that sailing has been up for a while and group rates could be gone. The person to really ask here is @AnnetteJackson.
  2. We found ourselves in this exact dilemma for our cruise this July on Adventure. As many here know, I am #teamCK all the way. Initially, when we first booked our Adventure sailing, I told Hubby right away that we would get the UDP. However, looking into it further, Adventure doesn't have that many specialty restaurants to choose from and their Izumi isn't even a full Izumi. In the end, we decided to purchase the 3 night dining package instead because we felt the UDP would be too repetitive for a 9 night sailing. The itinerary is pretty port intensive this time (waking up really early and out all day) so we figured our other nights, we would either eat in the MDR or WJ. So I guess, what I am trying to say is that there is value in the UDP if you think you will actually use it a lot. For us, we considered the number of restaurants and itinerary and decided it wasn't worth it.
  3. It depends. We have found that some of our cabins we could and some we could not. Really no way to tell until we go there. Maybe @twangster can shed more light. I'm not that techie.
  4. About a year ago, we started leaving them in the cabin at night. They usually don't wander anywhere, they mainly stay in the cabin, hang out with each other, watch netflix or play games on their devices.
  5. My girls and 11 and 13 and I just asked them. Here is their response: "Royal has the following stations on their TVs: Toddler Programming, Kids programming, and Teens programming. So 3 channels. Sometimes things also show up on RCTV2. Although that is mainly ads but sometimes a show will show up like "Royal Crush". Royal TV channels are boring compared to DCL." They also said, "There is especially nothing good for the 10-12 range." Hope that helps.
  6. For any cabin, not just star class, if there is only one cabin left in that category, it will show as "not available" when you try to click on it.
  7. @Jax I meant to ask you, how much did the photo book come to with the discount? And do they ship it to you? How does that work? Asking because we figured for Harmony, with 14 of us in the Villa, the photo package would be a fantastic deal.
  8. Call them. It's a Star Loft and a Royal Loft left so the site won't let you book those. It will show up as "not available".
  9. Umm, nope. Have not been so fortunate. Usually, it's the other way around. It feels like it goes by way too fast!
  10. JEALOUS!!!! I'm assuming you are not at the 17th St. location though because of your hotel? I have yet to visit any of their other 5 locations. Just catching up now on this blog. I'll be following along as I have always been interested to sail Celebrity one of these days. That terminal looks really nice and modern. Happy sailing! Looking forward to your pics and your thoughts.
  11. Always good to have another one booked before the current one ends. lol And the term is "Home Genie", that is my title and that is also why I tell my family I get to be spoiled once in a while. haha I have a suggestion for you, check out Harmony of the Seas 12/13/2020. There are decent prices and I think there might be a few SC rooms left available on that one. It goes to Coco Cay and we'll get to meet! My entire family of 14 will be on that one! ?
  12. I wish! I could use it for a few other sailings. lol
  13. We have it booked and it still shows up on ours. Must be one of those Royal IT things again.
  14. I know! I was so happy to see that when he posted it. I have waited so long to finally sail with the famous Bing Bong. Fingers crossed his schedule doesn’t change.
  15. Usually @Matt and @AnnetteJackson don't announce group activities until after final payment. That way they know their exact numbers.
  16. The only pro about sailing Anthem out of Cape Liberty in January is the lower prices. As you probably know, I am from Canada. If I'm going on vacation, I want to go somewhere hot. It bothers me when it's not warm because then I feel like it's no different than being at home. This is just me though. I know what I like as a cruiser. For some, it won't bother them because Anthem has a lot that you can do inside as well. Just know what you are getting into and set your expectations accordingly.
  17. This is exactly what happens to me! The one and only time I was able to bid was for the Anthem GC. And that was through the site, not through email. All other sailings, not options. @Fairlynew, it might be worth a bid though. Not to get your hopes up or anything, but a friend and I have been tracking those suites on Oasis from mid-Feb to mid-March. There were a few suites available on each sailing (Sky and Star) and then one day it just completely disappeared and said "sold out" for all of them. We found that somewhat suspicious as it is unlikely that all remaining suites would have gone in one day on four sailings.
  18. I have tried the using the website multiple times while impatiently waiting for an email, nothing. I am pretty sure that Royal Up hates me. lol
  19. They have parking for cruisers and complimentary breakfast and happy hour. I have pics and a mini review of it in my blog.
