  1. Ok, I know I sound like a broken record but here we go!!!! And just a disclaimer, I have no affiliation with , own stock or solely fly on Southwest!! How can an airline have 43 consecutive years of profit WITHOUT taking anything away from the consumer?????????????????????? Have one of the best LOYALTY programs and most of the time(we all can have bad days) friendliest flight attendants in the industry. Guess what? The only thing they charge you if you change your flight is if there is a difference in price. Now that is a WOW deal!! Hey on another side note, I think RCCL better look out for Virgin Cruises. I can see them have very similar business models and corporate philosophy as there airline and southwest.
  2. Plus as we have read in the thread PROFIT is one of the most important factor so being arrogant isn't much far behind! And just because in life if someone or something does it one way doesn't mean you have to follow!!!
  3. Plus, everyone likes a deal or a sale or last minute vacation.....Heck Yeah!!!!!! We did it last year on the Enchantment !!! When your so big you can openly tell the world that you will rather not sell your product to people than give them a deal cause your making record money off the ones that are paying for your product......that's a terrible attitude to have! Don't you think that some of the current changes allow them to do it !!!!!
  4. I know, that's what's great about this forum, it puts your mind at ease when you read other people have the same ideas and opinions as you. I highly doubt anything on this forum will change the minds over at 1050 Caribbean Way! So with that being said, I GIVE, I SURRENDER !!!
  5. Yup, they have us by the balls! Someone posted on this forum a statement similar to this "RCCL seems to benefit more from the new cruiser vs the ones that have shown loyalty. They start linking their chops when they book suites at full prices too!!!
  6. You know what I see them getting rid off next? The Diamond Lounge or changing it to Diamond+ and above. Hey here is an idea, once a year give a cruise certificate based on the number of completed cruise points you sail on RCCL. For example, 94(cruise points) X $10.00(just a thrown our figure) $940 per calendar year. Make this the only perk that way, we the consumer, will not expect anything else for the entire year. Well, we hope to have good service, food, entertainment and value.
  7. I also love RC and this forum but It gets very frustrating when they keep chipping away at things that were once offered. With that being said, I totally respect everyone's point of view on this forum but would like to add my two cents to some of the opinions listed above, yeah I get the whole profit thing but are they really concern about making us a priority? I know I always refer back to Southwest but I know that they make it a priority not charging for the first two bags. I may eat my words in the future but I think they will NEVER get rid of this perk. I never based the reduce deposit perk on which cruise I pick but I use it as a budget tool! Fist of all, I have been fortunate enough to never cxl a cruise. This reduce deposit helps balance out the four cruises I have booked( and will sail on) for next year. I wonder what the breaking point will be for the consumer to start looking at other cruise lines or different types of vacations.
  8. It would be interesting to see a list that shows over the past two years how much RCCL has taken away or modified that affects the consumer? The next thing they will re implement is the rule related to the alcohol package. I don't know how they can legally make someone purchase a service that goes against their belief. Trust me I get it, like the saying goes, one or two people ruin it for others, but RCCL should be able to come up with a system that accommodates this problem.
  9. Question for those who have sailed in this type of stateroom, I noticed that when I was on the bow(ships like freedom, voyager and radiance) don't you feel people can see in too much?
  10. All those working in the Next Cruise desk better start updating your resume. And I love those on this blog that when RCCL takes anything away from the consumers from top tier members to the ones that just cruised for the first time with RCCL everything is perfect and smells like roses. Just my observation!
  11. Here is another one, I kid you not, I saw this man taking chips with his hands from the Windjammer. And he did it more then one time. I asked him very nicely to please use the tongs. Gross!
  12. Oh that is a good one!!!!!! Or when you are in the way back of the elevator and it stops on your deck and say excuse me very politely and they don't MOVE!!!!!
  13. This will be our first group cruise as well. I know I had asked this question in the past in regards to activities directly related to booking with MEI vs our own TA but I think certain things are special when booked with MEI. I think Matt can elaborate on this!
  14. I personally think that "Cats" does not fit well with the vibe of the Oasis. At least, Mamma Mia, has music that gets you into a good mood and I think more age groups would like it better. Just my opinion
  15. People who don't take the guest assembly drill seriously like the same people who don't pay attention during the safety instructions on a airplane!!!
  16. If I were a parent who waited to give my children swim lesson on vacation, I know I would be at a distance, not in sight, watching them like a hawk. This would give me a chance to see the progression they are making and be ready to give the extra support only a parent could give. I wonder what initiated this type of service?
  17. Keep in mind that some of the ships have been modified with the "scrubber system" which cleans the exhaust before leaving the smoke stack. We were in 1700 on the Indy and had no issues like this!
  18. Just be aware if the new price is the non-refundable or "we pick your cabin" option. Why did they have to make it so complicated!!!! I know I may sound like a broken record but Southwest keeps it simple and straight forward "transfarency".
  19. It took me a second to figure out the Dolphin comment LOL. The last few years have been painful being a "Fin" fan but hey, we made it to the playoffs. See you are from NY/NJ, hopefully u are a giants fan!!!!
  20. First of all, my children are now 12 and 16 and my wife and I have had and will continue to have great moments where we teach our children things in life. I guess we are now a society where parenting is something we pawn off to other people. I know what some people might think "some parents would not know how to teach children to swim or maybe they can't swim" but why would you wait to teach them on a cruise. Oh I know, so that the kids would be in swim lessons for half of the day and adventure ocean for the other half.
  21. We have traditional dinning at 8pm. I scheduled three of the show at 7:30 because I like to stroll around on deck after dinner to digest. Question, will my wait staff give me grief for three nights if we arrive at 8:15? I always throw them some bones at the beginning of the cruise this should help.
  22. Have been on both and the only two things I can think of is that Indy has Sorrento's and the Wipe out bar. And the Navi is smaller. I am sure this blog will point out to me and you more if I missed any. lol I love them both.
  23. The 70 per person is labeled "Group Instructional Lesson" We "rent out" the flow rider for 345 for an hour, which is not per person. It does not include any instruction, you need to be able to load yourself. The price goes up if you need instruction (imagine that but heck they are starting rent coffee makers, really ?)
  24. Ok, so I logged into my thanksgiving cruise and had in my cart already the drink/internet package for 54 per day . Now, the sale for the 4th is indicating a 25 percent discount on the package totaling 54 dollhairs. Where is the savings? Am I missing something?
