Didn't you get a firm handshake welcome aboard from the ship's Captain along with the photo op? Of course, without your emerald pin on, they won't know what level you are.

So sad the weather turned to the downside. On the upside I'm sure you have a drink package as a contingency. Photo on, my friend, photo on....

Never mind the water, just think of the weight of the liquor in all those bars!

Recommended carry bag for while on land

Whenever we go ashore on a cruise, I always hold my wife's hand. That way she can't spend any money! Actually my wife has a black belt in shopping.....she'll buy anything marked down, she came home last week with an escalator. -

Joe, My daughter gave me one of these a few years ago and it has plenty of storage space/pockets. I have used it many times while traveling and cruising. Handles a laptop and two bottles of wine no problemo.https://www.swissgear.com/backpacks/1900-scansmarttm-laptop-backpack rjac -
I truly appreciate your generosity with the tipping here as well as San Juan. They need it. Hopefully more cruisers will be as generous as you.

Many years ago I remember booking a B2B cruise with the on board C&A representative. Got a great room (aft cabin) on the Serenade. I guess the C&A folks do not do on board bookings anymore. Last year on the Allure we chatted with the NextCruise folks, kind of felt like a time share sales pitch. Anyway we booked and when we got home I price checked through my travel folks where I found a much better deal. So I cancelled with RC and went with my TA.

Are there any age restrictions to go on the Rip Cord, like 60, 65, 70 etc? Thanks!

GREAT stuff you're posting! It still amazes me how you can get such great photos without the sun screened ,beer swigging, tropical drink with tiny umbrella drinking , snack eating cruisers included....and that's just the diamond and above folks I'm talking about!

Formal nights are typically on cruise (sea) days. If your last cruise day is the day/night before returning to home port, that will not be a formal night.

Loriann, Here's another consideration to take into account, how long will the Allure be in port and how long the excursion will be. Depending on the tides, currents and winds, the ferry ride can take 45 minutes up to 1.5 hours. The ferry goes into Playa Del Carmen (PDC) and PDC is about an hour from the ruins. Sometimes, the excursion tour bus will stop along the way at resorts to pick up additional customers, which will add time. As you can see, just getting to and from Tulum can take up to 5/6 hours. Add the time at Tulum and you may be cutting it close. By the way, welcome aboard, feel free to ask as many questions as you like. You will find a wealth of information here from many seasoned/sun tanned Royal Caribbean cruisers!

I've made the ferry trip to and from Cancun/Cozumel a few times. Problem is, seats by the window are few and go quick. So, you're sitting in the middle of the ferry, in a crowd and it can get pretty rough making the crossing. If it's a calm day, no problemo. If it's a choppy/rough day, muy sicko.

Like I've said before, Matt is a growing boy!

If I'm not mistaken, stuff in the mini fridge is higher. That's why a lot of folks have the mini fridge emptied, also so they don't get charged for something they did not consume.

Definitely be sure to give your camera shutter release finger a rest, you have some time left on board. Don't want to sprain that finger early on!

Jane, When in March are you going, which cruise ship and where did you find out that 5 ships will be in port? Curious minds wants to know. I, too, have booked Nachi the week of March 25th, will be on the Allure. We plan to get off the ship bright and early! rjac
