That is the shuttle building, the Vehicle Assembly Building (VAB). It was built for the Apollo missions, the Saturn rockets, but was also used by the shuttle program. Love the picture!

Adventure of The Seas vs Anthem
RestingBird replied to chrisd596's topic in Royal Caribbean Discussion
Look up what features Adventure currently has, and what she's getting...I don't think you'll be disappointed with her. If you'll use your balcony multiple times everyday then I'd go for the bigger one. -
Wow, I haven't thought about that...over 2 weeks of a live blog... Well, it'll give me something to do since I've already done all my cruise booking, lol. However, @twangster, if you can't keep up for 19 days I'll understand, that's a long time to try and keep us landlockers entertained. Have fun!!

Haven't checked cruise planner yet...but... Had Oasis booked for April 2019, changed it to Oct 2018...$2,000 cheaper for a JS with a bigger balcony. It was cheaper for me to book with a refundable deposit this time around as well...Not sure if that was a glitch, but I ran with it and booked. I'll have my TA check it out Monday, and rebook with her if it's all the same by then.

Just read this in the Port Canaveral 2017/2018 Directory. "Cruise Terminal 3, one of the Port's oldest cruise terminals currently being used for single-day port-of-call vessels, will be replaced by a state-of-the-art facility able to serve cruise vessels with up to 8,000 passengers calling on the Port. The Port will invest $150 million for the new terminal, targeted for completion in 2019, which will support an estimated nearly 4,000 permanent jobs." No idea how new this news is, but it's the first I've heard of it.

I was thinking that the other day, lol -
I'm calling pics or shenanigans on this one! ?

A superior sounds like a good grab, I'd be happy with that for booking a guarantee.

Holy crap! Might be all gone, that lady in the background is eying it ?

Black Friday/Cyber Monday Deals?
RestingBird replied to briggits's topic in Royal Caribbean Discussion
Those are the 2 years I was talking about, thanks for better details than I could remember! -
For Port Canaveral you have to stray from the RC excursions. There is an escape room, ropes course, mini golf, kayaking, airboats, helicopter tours, etc.

Black Friday/Cyber Monday Deals?
RestingBird replied to briggits's topic in Royal Caribbean Discussion
One year I got a bunch of OBC on cyber monday, the next year the "deal" was something else, don't remember what it was, but it wasn't anything I could use. -
Some cabins do indeed have queens, at least according to the descriptions.

Anthem: Traditional vs. MTD Questions
RestingBird replied to briggits's topic in Royal Caribbean Dining
Traditional dining is a set time for every night of the cruise, and should be chosen online asap to get the time you want. My Time Dining means you can walk up at different times each night and be seated. With traditional you'll have the same wait staff all week. With MTD you may be at a different table each night and therefore may have different wait staff. Just ask for a table for 2 either way, there should be issues. -
The only reason I liked deck 6 is I have the option of a slightly bigger balcony on the hump. If I went up to 7 or 8 they only have the regular balconies available at the moment. So no, not locked in really.

That's where my mind was going, glad for the clarification. I love the schooner bars on the ships I've been on, so I figured it'd be nice to be close to one for the week.

Can't wait to sail Liberty some day. We loved her sister, Freedom, and hope you all have a blast!

Looking into a JS behind the Schooner Bar, deck 6, on Oasis. I'd love it for the extra space on the balcony, but I'm wondering how loud the music from the bar might be. At the same time, I'd rather have that musical noise, I think, over other noises people have complained about from different parts of the ship. Any experience, or thoughts? Thanks!

I liked the Texas Collins (sp?) from the R Bar on Freedom. The grapefruit habanero daiquiri sounds like a nice step up!

I've reacted to too many posts today, won't let me laugh at yours...so here I am laughing.
