  1. If you're looking for something your children will enjoy, you may want to make your way over to Coral World Ocean Park. We do not have children that travel with us, but as animal and sea life lovers, we had a good time there. To get there, we rented a car for the day near the port, but there are probably other transportation options you can find. https://coralworldvi.com/
  2. A good time, maybe? What venue and ship is this for?
  3. If you choose to bid on a Royal Up, you may have to option to bid on several categories of Stateroom on the same webpage; Oceanview, Spacious Oceanview, Balcony, Obstructed View Balcony, Suites, etc. If a cabin in one of your chosen categories is available and your bid is "right", only one of the bids will be accepted. Back in Auguest, @JennaRCB wrote a good article on the Royal Up program: https://www.royalcaribbeanblog.com/2022/08/02/royal-caribbeans-royalup-guide-tips-and-tricks
  4. @Bmac It looks like you may have read the same article as I did, but what I'm really looking for is what the actual "Limited Selection" of liquors is as stated by the sample "Texas Liquor Law menu" below. Having such a menu suggests that maybe not all beverages come from a Texas-based distributor. (What I'm really trying to find out is if I need to find an alternative to Buffalo Trace for the first few hours!)
  5. Last week I booked a cruise on Harmony out of Galveston for January 2024. Then, a couple days ago I recalled reading that while in port, the drink menu and liquor brands are limited while in Texas waters dues to rules in place by the Texas Alcoholic Beverage Commission. Knowing that some of my preferred liquor brands may not be available until 12 nautical miles out, does anyone know what bourbon/whiskey, vodka, and tequila is served while in port? I saw a "Texas Drink Menu" of beer/wine/cocktails on the cruzely website, but the liquor brands are not specified.
  6. Maybe yes, maybe no. Oddly enough, I've noticed during our last two check-ins that not all times have become available right away. In 2022, I had checked in right away for both cruises at 45 days out. Over the days that followed, more times became available, some a good deal earlier than my original choice. Fortunately, the app allows you to update to another arrival time if they are available. Hope this is helpful!
  7. I've never seen a "limited drink package" like this for non-alcoholic beverages. The only thing I ever recall seeing is that mocktails are included in the refreshment package.
  8. Looks like they’ve decided to have a little fun with the mishap!
  9. Cuba, for sure. I know Royal doesn't seem to have any ships available to directly port there, but how about tender boats? There are handful of islands I've never seen on any itineraries I've researched; Trinidad and Tobago, Turks and Caicos, and Martinique. Also, I don't see very many RC cruises that stop in the Dominican Republic.
  10. Hello, In August, since we arrived too late in the evening to see any Seattle sights, we stayed at The Aloft Seattle Sea-Tac Airport hotel near the airport. It was clean, comfortable, and fairly reasonable in price. The next morning we used Seattle Express shuttle service to take us from the Hotel to the port for $25 each. ($45 each if you also want transportation to the airport post-cruise.) They provided us with great service and our driver "Elvis" was great! (https://seattleexpress.com/cruise-ship-transfers/) TIP: Use the FREE Port Valet service to get your luggage back to the airport post-cruise. https://www.portseattle.org/page/port-valet-enjoy-seattle-luggage-free (The only fee for this service is the standard luggage fees for whichever airline you are using)
  11. The balcony doors are not set up to attach your own lock. As shown in the first and second pictures in the original post, a optional child lock is available at the top of the door.
  12. This conversation reminds me of the wine glass lovingly known as "Big Joe" on Cougar Town! Capable of holding MORE THAN a whole bottle of wine!
  13. The smaller ships are a really good value. Just keep in mind that they don't have a lot of the frills that the bigger ships have. (Water slides, FlowRider, etc.) There is plenty to do if you are looking for a bit of a more laid back, relaxing vacation. We've been on Grandeur, Rhapsody, and Vision (essentially all the same) and had a very good vacation on all of them. Since they do have less extras, I considered the destinations more important on these ships. As far as feeling the waves, it was only noticeable on Grandeur, but it was not a fault of the ship. We encountered very rough waters along the east coast sailing back to Baltimore. (I think ANY ship would have had this issue as bad as the waves were)
  14. WE'VE GOT ANOTHER ONE HOOKED, EVERYBODY!!! Welcome to your new obsession! Now you are one of us!
  15. I just booked our next cruise on Tuesday evening. The alert came up while my phone was on "Driving Focus" so I didn't get it until "25 minutes too late"! No matter, since Harmony was docked in Labadee, there was no way I was gonna get there in 30 minutes anyway! (BTW, our countdown is 359 days! )
  16. Mine has been like this all week. The emails I've received from RC this week (Sales and C&A Newsletter) have the correct loyalty status and point count at the bottom, though. Must be a website issue of some sort (SHOCKER!)
  17. Seeing the account page read "You have 0 upcoming cruises" was making us sad. We had to do something about it.
  18. Just Booked! 361 Days to go! Harmony of the Seas - January 28, 2024
  19. Giving them away to other guests to use would be a violation of DBP policy. FWIW, on the two cruises we took in 2022, rather than the cups arriving to our stateroom on day one, they were only issued by request at the DBP sign-up tables or at the bars by showing your Sea Pass card with the DX marking. In the past, we have left behind still wrapped cups on debarkation day.
  20. Technically, the baby could be considered a stowaway! Or maybe they'll chalk it up as a technicality of the the "Kids Sail Free" promo! I'm certainly glad that both mother and child are doing well, but I am wondering just how premature this birth was. Guests are required to attest that they will be no more than 23 weeks (~5.3 months) pregnant for the duration of the cruise. https://www.royalcaribbean.com/faq/questions/pregnant-health-safety-onboard-policy
  21. You may be able to find out your room assignment with the oft mentioned "Bar Code Trick"
  22. RC Gifts cards are only good toward making a new booking/reservation. They cannot be used for Cruise Planner purchases.
