michelle reacted to Matt in Remaining OBC
One trick is you can go to the casino and take that OBC out there. You will be hit with a 5% fee but better than leaving money behind, right?

Hello-- My name is Bob and I DVR episodes of The Love Boat--all of them. Every single one of them.

been on a version of the dating game - did not win but was pretty funny

michelle got a reaction from DocLC in Booking Future Cruises Onboard
Right as Matt said the future OBC is based on what length of cruise you book and also
what type of cabin that you book. The immediate incentives are what everyone
has said - and the next cruise deposit is not refundable -
Really wish they would just discount future cruises based on your loyalty
I'd always rather save more money-then OBC but that is me.

My best friend won a gold medal in the belly flop contest. He wore it to dinner each night afterwards. :)

I'm good with Voyager class ships (see the number of times Adventure appears below). We were a bit overwhelmed with Oasis. We also take smaller ships due to the ports they can get to, plus not having to pay the Oasis/Quantum premium prices helps a little.
But I would agree, try Voyager/Freedom first for the "holy smokes this is amazing!" first impression. Later if you get to the point where the ports are the destination, not the ship, go for the smaller ships. But it the ship is your thing, then go big on the big ships.
Or just try them all. :)

michelle reacted to DocLC in best ship for 30-49 year-old couples WITHOUT children
The CA coastals are awesome. I did one on Celebrity with an overnight in San Francisco and three other CA ports and it is among the top itineraries I've done and I live in the state.

Agree with others as well - Anthem was great and still has fun things to do for adults
so if you can do this non=summer times or holidays I think you would love it and then
yes the Allure or Oasis just have more to do on them as well for adults I think
Southern Caribbean is a great suggestion or longer than 7 nights
Transatlantics or Pacific Coastal transitional cruises that leave in May or Sept
each year are unique and offer some cool things
Sept 23 2016 they have a sailing on the Explorer that over nights in San Fran
how cool is that!

:D This is how I feel today cause tomorrow I'll be stepping on to the Anthem in NYC
I will be gathering as many food photos that I can (for Matt) and Cabin Photos
Love that as agents we get access to see most every type of cabin on the ship
Anything else I should check out???

michelle got a reaction from Matt in just have to share with those who will understand :)
agree - I think Disney is beginning to out prices themselves somewhat- and like you
I have done all of it Parks, cruise and Adventures by Disney (best product I think)
but cruises give you lots more for your money and you have many, many ships
and places you can go - and I love Freedom
So glad you family enjoyed it

michelle got a reaction from Matt in ATMS on ship
Yep two of them - I think the fee if I remember right is $3.00 to take money out but that could have changed
Somehow I always seem to use the one in the Casino :P
Hope you have a great cruise

michelle got a reaction from Matt in Liberty of the Sea Questions
Have a great time - like Matt said suggestions for dressing although the White Party is
usually fun and good music
I'm pretty sure they will have the baseball games - sorry to say by marriage I'm a Cubs
fan! but hoping the METs do well

Here's a look down the side. There are no obsctructions.
Another thing to consider is that directly above you is the exterior promenade. There may be some noise from that, but I haven't ever heard that complaint.

michelle got a reaction from Familyof4 in First time cruisers
I'm a big fan of MTD - I like being able to go to dining when I want and often meet people on the cruise
that I like to eat with. I still do traditional if we go with a few family groups but overall we like MTD
And I do pre-book for dining times a lot before we get on the ship with MTD just so I have
something, but the wait staff does very well trying to accommodate changes once on the ship too
With Teens I would think MTD would be better than 830 since they may have things going on
at night, and will not want to be sitting at dinner until about 10pm, just my thoughts

michelle got a reaction from bigburlyjohn in Price match guarantee
Yep agree with Marc - groups can have much better rates if they book early and for certain dates
holidays, summer to like Alaska etc - some of our Alaska groups are $300-$400 less than
published rates now for cruises.
Many companies advertise without taxes and fees so upfront they appear lower but are not always

michelle reacted to bigburlyjohn in Freedom of the Seas Cruise
My family and I recently returned from a Freedom of the Seas Western Caribbean cruise. We had a great time and would encourage everyone to try FOS. The performers and shows were excellent. The officers and staff of the FOS were super and very accommodating. The food was the best of the three cruises I have been on (although it was never bad before). My grandsons enjoyed both the DreamWorks Experience and Adventure Ocean / Royal Babies and Tots.
I encourage anyone to try Freedom of the Seas, or the ship we had twice previously cruised, the Independence of the Seas.
With all that said, there were some things that I found surprising on FOS that I did not encounter previously on IOS. The overall condition of FOS was excellent but not superior to IOS. In a couple locations, including in the hall near our stateroom, we could smell what we thought was sewer gas. It was not overwhelming but it was there.
On deck 4 aft, the men's public restroom near the elevator door closure was missing so the door would not return closed automatically, and it was that way for the durastion of the cruise. In this restroom and some others, there was a distinct odor of urine. Mulitple times my wife and I both found empty soap dispensers in the public restrooms. In our stateroom, we had to ask that our provided shampoo dispenser be refilled. Upon entering the dining areas, the attention of the crew to ensure the use of hand sanitizer was not as prevalent as our previous cruises.
Another "condition" item that comes to mind was the carpet on the bottom of one of the steps in the aft stairwell; it was hanging loose the entire cruise.
Again, this was a GREAT cruise. Casey Pelter is an outstanding Cruise Director and very personable. He, the Captain and many of the other officers were ever present and readily approachable and friendly.
Anyone that is considering FOS or any other RCI cruise, please do not hesitate. This was our third cruise with RCI and we have three additional scheduled, including another on FOS. I'm certain these instances mentioned were anomalies, but I wanted to get other opinions.
