  1. Hope its going well - would love a review of the ship when you return, lots of interest now that its headed to New Orleans in the Winter months
  2. Embassy Suites, $9 cab ride from FLL to this area of town, Total Wine 1 block away and restaurants and its 1 mile to the port. Residence Inn Across the Street, Holiday Inn Express and Hilton Marina all in this area and super easy to get to Port from here - just focus on 17th Street in FLL. Just visited in August. More high end try Marriot Harbour Beach, right on the beach and 2miles from Port
  3. So glad the policy changed, so much easier for families /cabins where only one person really wants the package
  4. Cannot wait to see Mamma Mia - never seen a bad show on an RCI ship Will let you know how it is after my sailing on Nov 12th
  5. Great question - most of the time its only dinners that need pre-reserved booking Most all ships with specialty places work this way as well not just RCI BUT I will ask this once I can get onto Quantum next month and try it out
  6. Great info thanks for that! like Matt said check back often about booking dinners They are really re-doing their online system for dining and will have to with dynamic dining so maybe it will become more streamlined.
  7. Sorry guys this is true Limo/towncar companies are not allowed to bring passengers inside the gates of the terminal until 11am HOWEVER they can drop you outside the fence and you can walk up to the ship. BUT I have been held at the fence as well before 11am. Rule of the Port Authority here in Canaveral to avoid congestion with those coming off the ship.
  8. yep happy they are doing this but makes me think something new is coming...
  9. Please let us know the updates Ian91 and have a great time! love Oasis.
  10. www.shipcruise.org/cruise-ship-refurbishment-dry-dock-schedule/#reburbishments_2014 sorry this did not copy over well but this is where I look
  11. woo hoo- have a great time! that reminds me - only 34 Days until Quantum Embarkation for me!
  12. Maybe run by the front desk too and ask if they could do autographs or set something up -may not work but always worth a try I think.
  13. if you love it - rebook onboard - there are some great offers out right now
  14. yep glad she/he worked hard for you ! trust me what seem logical to me day in and day out like a simple price reduction - is the most complicated part of my day at time :D
  15. You can ask for bed rails that maybe would work on the couch as well- and sometimes the couches are actually beds they convert them at night - Ask your room steward for help they will figure something out
  16. Yep cruise critic groups are great and dining with others all great trips and read the Navigator they have singles meet ups a lot in there as well. Have a blast
  17. Hmm this seems odd to me - sometimes I guess I can see why they have to do this though if the NEW promotion you have requires you to book within a certain booking window and you booked outside that window. but they should warn you it will cancel all of your pre-booked tours etc. But most of the time, an agent or supervisor should be able to re-price what you have - you can ask them to go to Resolutions and ask for help if needed.
  18. Most medical clinics on ships have a box outside of the center with Bonine and meds like this that guests can just pick up= kind of nice - In the past when I needed this - I would take the Bonine a day or so before boarding the ship - to get used to the feeling and get it in my system. just an idea.
  19. Matt - you need to brush up on your hand creams! and lotions
  20. I think this is just on longer cruises though, not on the 3/4 night sailings but I could be wrong.
  21. Agree- I've done the larger ships and some mid-size and smaller - I prefer mid-size and love the freedom class ships on RCI- (larger I know but feel midsize to me) but for some cruises, the Allure has been nice and then I've seen or been on the Grandeur and others and like them as well. Like smaller in Alaska to move around. If I have a lot of days at sea, prefer more mid-size to larger size as well to have more things to do.
