My wife and I boarded Mariner Friday for our very first cruise and it has been wonderful so far. I followed all of Matt and fellow bloggers advice so far. Got the earliest checkin time. We flew in two days early. We took a Lyft to the port and arrived 40 mins prior to our embarkation time. There was a short line but not bad. Sailed through security to some chairs we sat in until time to board We entered the ship right at our muster station so that was super quick! Went to the stand by the orange dune buggy and made all of our dinner reservations. Got 6p for dinner at specialty restaurants every night!! only negative is our shore excursion tomorrow got canceled. Not a huge deal though. This is awesome!! My wife and I are thinking this is the life. Thank you all for your advice!!! Thanks Matt especially for all of your time and efforts. It really helped us out!

I’m on the sailing too. I tried to make a “fake” reservation to see what was left. It appeared the ship is completely sold out. I am not anticipating my (or anyone else’s) royal up bud to happen unless someone drops at the last minute. see you in 12 days!

I asked the same question as I sail a few days after you. Everyone has reassured me we will be safe and not to worry. I will say I have watched a few videos lately that showed some pretty stormy weather onboard other cruise lines ships!!

Well that is good news! I just keep hearing “these storms never happen here this early” and it gets you thinking how unlucky life can seem sometimes. I hope things take down weather wise. I really want to go on this cruise!!

All of the tracks seem to go very close to the BVI, St Kitts and Puerto Rico, three of our ports. I guess my biggest fear is storm damage shutting everything down. Do excursions still tend to happen? If the itinerary changes will different shore excursions be put in the cruise planner?

So…it looks like a potential 1-2 punch of storms are headed towards the Caribbean. My wife and I are going on our first cruise on Mariner in 18 days. We are west coasters who deal with wildfires and snowstorms, not hurricanes. Help me with pointers to be ready for these storms and their potential impact on us! A little freaking out is happening right now!! Any pointers will be appreciated! Thank you fellow Bloggers!!

I have another food question. I am on Mariner in July and I have the UDP. Can I go to Izumi for sushi, then return later that same day for tepenyaki without any additional charge(other than the $15 for tepenyaki)? Is that considered one restaurant or two for purposes of the once per day credit for a la carte. Thanks!

Hopefully we will be able to get in to one of them! I actually thought the specialty restaurants would be less busy than the windjammer. I don’t expect to find an empty restaurant, but was looking for ideas on something that might not be as crowded.

Hello all! I’ve been reading the blogs for months prepping for our first cruise on Mariner of the seas in July and can’t locate lunch menus for the various specialty restaurants. We purchased the UDP and would like to choose which restaurant to go to for lunch embarkation day. I looked through the app and had no luck. Are the lunch keys published anywhere? Or are they exactly the same as the dinner menu? Thank you in advance!
