  1. For our October cruise, I specifically remember that I checked in immediately on the 45-day prior date. The very next day (44 days prior!), I got an email from Royal Up inviting me to bid for an upgrade. I too had the spinny thing prior to that that never moved forward; in fact, every time I tried to access Royal Up through the web site, it would sit there and spin. The only way I was able to view/bid on Royal Up was via the link in the email I received. That link was then viable until about 48-72 hours prior to sailing. Hope this helps!
  2. This was exactly my experience as well. It's a bummer because the message gets you all excited, and then........nada. Ugh.

Looking ahead toward the holidays, I'd like to purchase some Royal Caribbean merchandise, such as shirts, sweatshirts, mugs, etc. When I click on the link with Royal Caribbean for "Royal Gifts," it gives me a 404 error and nothing shows. There are various places on Etsy and Redbubble showing RC-logoed gifts, but I wondered if there's any place "official" other than on board ships/at Perfect Day/Labadee? Thanks in advance!

  5. For anyone still having issues with the CP, I have had much more success going through the RC app than CP to secure the Black Friday deals. Just FYI!
  6. No iron, yucky shampoo/conditioner/soap in shower. Tell your wife to bring her own, she'll appreciate it! In terms of ironing, I would just put what needed ironing in the bathroom with me during a shower to help. You can pay on board for ironing services too.
  7. I've had problems all day with the web site but more success via the app. I got a Cozumel shore excursion for 35% off the previous price! Score!!!!
  8. I just cruised in October with my 11 and 13 year olds. When they weren't with me, they told me where they were off to, called the room phone if they were running late, and had watches so that they could keep track of time. For my 11 year old, she was the lucky age - AO available and could sign herself in/out, and the teen stuff if you sign a waiver. The white board in the room helps too! We didn't miss having phone/Internet connection to communicate while on board at all. You might be okay without it!
  9. My TA just posted via FB that it appears RC is starting Black Friday deals tomorrow, 11/17, for Crown & Anchor Society members. Excited and really hoping it's true!
  10. We're in AZ too! We did Navigator in October with my 11 and 13 year olds. They LOVED the amplification as well as the teen activities. That said, we're booked on Allure for summer 2023. They were a bit bummed that there are no water slides, but they're super pumped about all the teen activities again and new ship/stuff to explore. I'd say drive to Cali, it's not a terrible drive (6 hours from Phx, 7 from Tucson), and do Navigator. I'm looking forward to doing that 7-day itinerary at some point too! (we did the 4-night in October)
  11. I was going to point out what PPPJJ-GCVAB said - you can't reserve anything online within 48 hours of the sailing. For example, I bought a water bottle package 3 days before our October cruise. I went to check on the price of it the next day and suddenly there was nothing available to purchase online. If you can get it early in the week, go for it - otherwise, you might not be able to.
  12. This is exactly what I was going to say - less crowds, cooler weather, too early for salmon season, but lots of wildlife/sealife to see. I remember being REALLY glad I brought my fleece! (take that with a grain of salt, I'm from AZ)
  13. I've found the lanyards very useful to not be digging through pockets, bags, etc. For my kids, they can't misplace it if it's around their neck! Then we used magnet hooks by the door in our stateroom and hung them there to not lose them in the kids' stuff. We got a 3 pack of lanyards from Amazon for around $7 pre-cruise.
  14. It worked amazingly well for me on Navigator of the Seas in October. So well, in fact, that I was able to make phone calls via wifi without any problem in my interior room. I was impressed. In ports, I noticed that it worked great in Ensenada but not so much on Catalina Island, presumably because of the mountains/hills on the island. Hope this helps!
  15. Yes, it's per guest per day. For your room then, you're looking at $58/day for both of these. Watch for the Black Friday deal- I got both of these for less than what you have listed for a 2022 cruise. Good luck!!
  16. I seem to remember somewhere @Matt mentioning that it's surprisingly quiet on RC ships near the elevators. You lucked out! Also, what is this barcode trick of which you speak?
  17. 14! Perfect! Mine will be 12 and 14 (girls). My 12-year-old is so excited to not be part of Adventure Ocean anymore.

  19. How did you use OBC for the purchase? I'm assuming from what you typed that you did this before boarding, so I'm curious what that process is.
  20. Same here - I can't find anything on the RC web site other than "here's great things in Galveston!", and the shore excursions page currently says they are updating the list. I too am leaving in the summer and figure, like you, something will populate probably after the first of the year. That Uber/Lyft charge of $75-100 one way back to HOU is insane! I wonder if RC has shuttle buses back to Houston? Might be worth a call to RC (or travel agent) to find out.
  21. Very fun! My kids are older too and looking forward to the teen activities on board. They really enjoyed the teen stuff on Navigator OTS but are disappointed that Allure OTS doesn't have water slides, LOL.
  22. I'm glad I'm not the only one that has wondered this (pianist here!), but no, I've not found a single instance yet where a piano is available for someone as a guest to use. Well, unless you book the really fancy suite that has a piano!!!!!
