Happy Sailing to all July 2023 Cruisers!
Cactus527 replied to Lovetocruise2002's topic in Royal Caribbean Discussion
July 16th Allure! -
RC just cancelled our excursion in Cozumel 16 days out. Beyond the fact that I am livid after reserving this 9 months ago and paying Black Friday prices for it, I'm hoping that someone will have some suggestions for an excursion (RC or not) that would be appealing to teens. We are already doing a full beach day in Roatan just a few days earlier, so maybe not the exact same thing? Any thoughts are appreciated!

Yes, agreed on DBP - I just saw it for my sailing in a few weeks at $70.99, which is the lowest I've ever seen it since Black Friday. Not getting it, but it was interesting to see.

We're sailing Allure mid July and the earliest arrival time (which I got at 12:03am on 45 days out) was 11:00am. Based on everything I've read, 11:00 seems to be the earliest for Allure - I imagine due to her size, it just takes longer for people to disembark and for them to get ready to welcome new guests. Enjoy your cruise!

Just FYI for anyone wanting to do this excursion in the summer, the tour operator is suspending operations until August 1st. Our reservation for this excursion in Cozumel was just canceled 17 days before sailing. (Today is June 29, 2023).

E-docs are sent to you or your travel agent 30 days prior. If you still are a little bit ahead of that 30 day mark, you probably won't see it. Your luggage tags will be inside there as well. Congratulations on your marriage! We did our honeymoon on a cruise as well- you won't regret it!

Looking for Feedback on Roatan Turquoise Bay VIP Excursion
Cactus527 replied to Jax's topic in Shore Excursions
I just found this via Cruise.blog . Check out #9. https://cruise.blog/2023/03/10-things-i-loved-and-hated-about-norwegian-bliss-cruise-ship -
@Phillip C, you might want to start a thread for the Sept 17th sailing to connect with others on it. That being said, entertainment opened up for me 42 days prior to sailing, but your mileage may vary. If you're referring to My Time Dining, I don't know - you might try posting on the RC Dining thread to find out about that.
-
Funny that you mention this - I just noticed that you can get 6 water bottles and a RC bag via the "Gifts and Gear" tab for about $30, which is the same price for about 12 bottles of water. If I was going to buy some water just to have in the room and have a reusable water bottle too (like you said), I'd probaby go with this option versus buying the water package. Just a thought!

Cruise Planner PDCC Beach Club
Cactus527 replied to Baked Alaska's topic in Royal Caribbean Discussion
I just saw this via the Celebrity Cyber Nights sale email: To compare, for my next Royal Caribbean sailing that visits PDCC, I see this (to be fair, this is prior to Celebrity starting to visit PDCC): -
It worked! I don't know why I didn't think of this - so glad you mentioned this, @Xaa! THANKS! ...aaaaaand of course now she's screwing things up and just booked herself solo to go to the ice show the first night. I suppose THIS is why 13 and under shouldn't have the app.

I would love to see an answer to this question too. My 12 year old is wondering about this.

Mariner Passenger Overboard Rescued
Cactus527 replied to OCSC Mike's topic in Royal Caribbean News and Rumors
Cruise Radio reported today that the woman who fell overboard was trying to take a selfie. Just...I'm glad she's okay, but wow. Dumb. -

I'm jealous that you get the RC Blog emails - I get nothing and signed up! -
Just remember that check in starts 45 days before sailing at 12am (midnight) of the time zone where the ship is. That might be 9:00 p.m. the night before for you, or even 3:00 a.m. the day of!

It is incredibly great to see that the person was rescued. -
Booking Airfare to Alaska- should I wait?
Cactus527 replied to VeronicaS1970's topic in Royal Caribbean Discussion
Most travel sites (as well as personal experience) say about 3-4 months out to purchase airfare for domestic travel EXCEPT Alaska and Hawaii. For those, they suggest 6-7 months. That same length of time is suggested for international travel. As @Peter D said, many airlines have not even published their flight schedule for that time frame yet. I personally would wait. -
Dates I was eyeing for September 2024 on Utopia are about $200-300 more than the same room/same dates for Allure. For me, I guess it will come down to if my TA has any deals and whether I want to fly to MCO or MIA. Nice to see the rooms are more available this morning than last night. Suite prices weren't terrible for a new ship either (prices listed for single traveler).
-
I'm seeing very limited availability too. Even the simplest Interior room isn't loading yet for USA!
-
In person. I believe it was at a bar or something similar - the details are a bit hazy... Now I want sake pairing certification!
-
I got our final cruise docs from our TA today! So pumped that we are within 30 days of sailing. I also prepared in anticipation of these docs arriving, so if you need any help, you can ask me - I'm now an expert. (yes, this is a joke, I know I can just cut and put them in my luggage tag holders)
-
Also, in case you're wondering, it does not matter whether you print the tags in color or black and white.

I was actually wondering that too - did she pronounce it correctly? I've been saying it wrong in my head for awhile then! -
