  1. The spin classes are at 7:30 or 8:00am when I have seen them on my most recent cruise. This will be wholly dependent on which ship you are sailing, when it sails, and what facilities they have on board. Check a recent cruise compass for that ship/ sailing.
  2. We just did Turquoise Bay today. We did the "Clear Kayak & Snorkel" option vs. VIP Beach Break. They actually have the beach sectioned off depending on which excursion you are doing, and it helps keep it from getting overly crowded. Our end had shallow entry water (clear), kayaks, kids play area (pirate ship and toys like floaties, corn hole, hula hoops, etc.), tons of chairs, 3? 4? palapas (first come first serve), big buffet and drink area, and sail cloths to provide more shade if desired. Restrooms were kind of sorry - they seemed like glorified outhouses with showers and toilets. Food was great but only available after 12pm. Drinks were non-stop, and there's a menu, but it seemed like a lot was unavailable due to lacking a particular ingredient. The snorkel and kayaks were done at a certain time and only once, so if you didn't do it then, well, tough. They were both definitely well done. Personnel were terrific and real gems. I agree with @PhilandSteffthat the driving is harrowing, but the drive and the island was beautiful. I would recommend it, but know what you're getting into.
  3. I am outraged that so many people on here keep saying "Allure hasn't been amplified, she has no slides." I have found the slide on Allure! I mean, I don't fit on it, but THERE'S A SLIDE! It's on the boardwalk beside Sabor, so feel free to drink a tequila and then take your adrenaline-filled ride down the slide.
  4. Is this still inaccessible on a regular basis?
  5. Definitely fly into Hobby - our trip from there to Galveston port took 45 min one way. The new terminal is beautiful, spacious, and easy to navigate. Galveston Island lodgings are going to be much more expensive than Houston-area places, but it's so pretty there. Having just done this a few days ago, I know they didn't start letting people on the ship until 10:45 (Suite first, then The Key, then C&A members Pinnacle to Gold, then general 11:00 boarding times by section sitting in in the waiting area). Enjoy!
  6. Our driver on Sunday was telling us it's going to be bad coming back to Houston due to the freeway closure. It's already questionable as is right now! On the bright side, RC's new Galveston terminal is AMAZING.
  7. We boarded today with an 11:00 a.m. boarding time. The RC app started dinging me at 8:00 a.m. today to do the safety muster. We completed what we could online, and then we went to the muster station as soon as we boarded to take care of the rest. Don't worry - you just need to complete it before the ship leaves the port.
  8. I paid for 24 way back during Black Friday that was supposed to be the smaller bottles. We board Sunday and I'll be curious to see which size bottles we get...
  9. Every single ST actor/actress I would want to meet is on this cruise. WHY AM I NOT SIGNED UP YET?????
  10. I noticed mine disappeared about 2 days ago, when I was 6 days out, from the web site. Hmm...
  11. That's exactly why I put in such a ridiculous number. I appreciate knowing that we can order pretty much anything we want. With that $12.99 charge, does that include the shakes too? I understand that it's covered under the refreshment package, but we only have the soda package. Will I have to pay extra for the shakes if I want food as well?
  12. I know that Johnny Rockets is a set fee for lunch and dinner. My question is: how much can I order? Am I limited to getting one of x, one of y, and one of z? Or can I order 12 burgers and three shakes for that set price (as an example, not that I would actually order 12 burgers!)? Thanks in advance for your response.
  13. Activities have posted in the RC app. My kiddos were pouring through them yesterday figuring out what they want to do on board. They've also posted the list of things that are going on in the evenings, such as a white night, formal nights, etc. Just FYI!
  14. There's an article posted recently on RC Blog by one of the female writers that said she rented a bicycle with her travel partner and rode out there, then back in the rain. I'll try to find the link - that might be an option? Definitely cheaper than a Jeep! EDIT: Found it. Look under "Worry About Weather Too Much." https://www.royalcaribbeanblog.com/2023/07/05/alaska-cruise-mistakes-to-avoid
  15. @JetRocket it just refunded to my card yesterday (Friday).
  16. We have a private tour booked in Cozumel via Viator. It's just us, the guide, and the vehicle. We get to choose where we go based on our desires from a list of about 10 things/places. Maybe something like that?
  17. Did you check Southwest? I just did a quick Low Fare Finder search and it's quite reasonable (plus two free bags per person!).
  18. Oh my goodness, this is AMAZING. Such a great resource - thank you so much for creating and sharing!
  19. I just went and checked after reading your question. No, it has not refunded to me yet. It's been...3-4? business days since the cancellation, so I'm guessing it will pop up next week.
  20. @Jacklynn how are you finding internet speeds whenever you want to get online? Also love that you're running on board. I plan to do the same. Are there many people out when you do it that early?
  21. Yay, we're sailing together!!!!!
  22. Those 6¢ winnings are amazing! We're doing this cruise/itinerary on 7/16. Can't wait to keep reading your posts!
  23. @SpeedNoodles is so right - price over discount. I saw 35% off most excursions on Black Friday, but the price mattered more. Book what you want straight away!
  24. I'm looking at these prices listed and my eyes are going bonkers. Does anyone else use credit card rewards? My trip this month with the three of us is ~$34 total and nothing for the hotel. It's the only way I can do the cruise travel!
