  1. We got off Allure on July 23rd and tested positive 4 days later. It could have come from the ship, but it also could have been from air travel, the airport, or any bus-like transportation we used. If you want to be careful, vaccinate, wear a mask, etc. to lower your chances of getting it. Otherwise, have a terrific cruise!
  2. I'm amazed at how popular it's becoming!
  3. I was just browsing through the Cruise Planner for my September 2023 Independence OTS sailing and found a pickleball clinic being offered onboard! The best part: free RC hat and the chance to purchase RC-branded pickleball merchandise. If you're interested, check out your CP under "Onboard Activities."
  4. A pizza package! Such a great idea!!!! But hopefully not one RC looks into further...
  5. Can I piggyback off this? My TA said he'd never go on a ship without a thermal spa, and I have been on a few that have them. However, I am absolutely clueless as to what they are, how they work, why I would use one, etc. What is a thermal spa? #clueless
  6. We just did a 7-night sailing in July 2023. Day 2 and Day 6 were formal nights, Day 4 was Caribbean night (think loud Hawaiian shirts), and Day 5 was White night.
  7. When my spouse and I visited Sitka, we did not have an excursion or a plan. We ended up walking around the port area, exploring the town, climbing the hill, and eventually found a hiking path through a forest with a lot of totem poles. It was fabulous. I highly recommend just wandering around the port area. I remember the walk by the waterfront had a whole bunch of different sea creature statues, which were fun to pose with.
  8. 11am boarding time = 10:15am letting you in the building. You'll be in a shaded area waiting outside prior to that. Seriously, drop off at 9:30am is fine - we were dropped off at 9am and it was fine!
  9. I found these: https://www.yokohamajapan.com/cruise/terminal/daikoku/ and https://www.royalcaribbean.com/faq/questions/driving-directions-port-yokohama On Google Maps, there are plenty of train and bus lines around to get you within 450 meters (1/4 mile) of the terminal. Also, if you're staying at a hotel nearby, you could probably get a taxi (ask the hotel staff to help if there's a language barrier). It's fascinating that this terminal was opened specifically for very large ships that can't pass under the Yokohama Bay Bridge. It seems that Royal Caribbean uses the Daikoku Pier Cruise Terminal.
  10. Testing negative now! Woot woot! Now if only my energy level would come back and my congestion would leave...
  11. My kiddos told me that a lot of the activities are divided out in the teen area (I don't know if it shows on the Teen Compass) as 12-15 and 16-18. I think that makes a major difference, as some of those older teens looked like 20-somethings to me! Because of that, the people they tended to hang out with were much closer to their own age versus being quite a bit older.
  12. Recently, on Allure of the Seas, my teens had this available to them in the teen hangout area. Apparently there is just a QR code that you scan and then this is downloadable for the entire cruise. It lists a whole bunch more activities than is listed in the RC app, and my teens used this versus the app when they were making plans to participate in various activities. I thought it was really cool to have available for them, and I thought that some of you may want to see it as well. Teen = 12-17 years old. TheSocial.pdf
  13. Yes, and I highly suggest not using past boudoir photos...
  14. We opted to have our state room done in the evenings only; however, our state room attendant would come in in the morning when we weren't there and put away the sofa bed. It was nice!
  15. Have a GREAT time! Love Navigator so much. It's my "home" port/ship!
  16. @brdjnr we were in Costa Maya and Cozumel last week (we = me + 2 teenagers). While we were only in the port at Costa Maya, we went everywhere across the island of Cozumel on a private tour. Never felt unsafe, even when a huge amount of people had to be suddenly evacuated from the outdoor restaurant we were having lunch at to an interior storage area due to a torrential downpour!
  17. I just got off Allure on Sunday (it's Thursday) and tested positive for Covid yesterday. Do I blame the ship? No, it could have been anywhere along the path of our travels. At this point, I think it's one of those risks you have to be willing to face if you're not taking active precautions like masking (I was not).
  18. Yup! We ordered the night before at around 7:00 p.m. for a 7:00 a.m. delivery. That was the earliest we could get. Room service actually showed up at 6:40 a.m.! Mad scramble to find pants so I could actually open the door for the lady.
  19. There is a suite waiting area (shaded). You'll be let in first when they open the building around 10:00-10:15am. Definitely get your ride to drop you off at the "suites" location, as that is literally 20 feet from where you'll await entry. If it helps, we were dropped off at 9:00 a.m. for regular entry at 11:00. We just waited in the shaded area until they let us in the building at 10:15. It was no big deal, it was kind of fun watching all of the departing cruisers having fun with all the transportation.
  20. We were waiting for pick up this morning right beside the Uber/Lyft pick up area. There were many pickups going on, and I kept over hearing people say anywhere from $75-100 for the trip to Hobby. Since we were in that area until almost 10:00 a.m., after everything died down after 9:30 a.m., there were literally Uber drivers coming up to us asking if we needed a ride. So, I think there's definitely availability! Still, it might be better to order one ahead of time.
  21. On Allure this past week, we ordered via the TV. No paper forms in the room. $0 for continental breakfast = awesome!
  22. Getting off Allure this morning, I noticed this credit on each of our accounts. What is this? Why is it being refunded? More curious than anything.
  23. The spin classes are at 7:30 or 8:00am when I have seen them on my most recent cruise. This will be wholly dependent on which ship you are sailing, when it sails, and what facilities they have on board. Check a recent cruise compass for that ship/ sailing.
