  1. I have seen this before between the app and the website, usually separated by one day. If it's not working today, try again tomorrow and it may be up and running. The fact that it's showing December 2nd is kind of odd though!
  2. I have not seen the soda and internet package for sale since probably the beginning of the year.
  3. Years ago, when they still tendered into Cozumel, we couldn't visit the port due to intense waves. it's the only time I've experienced tender problems and thus couldn't visit.

  6. You guys are adorable. I read everything last night and am hoping that all goes well from here on out. Enjoy! (and you are a saint - your mother reminds me of my own, who I would NEVER bring on a cruise!!!!)
  7. I figured I should start this thread and see who else might be on board. Looking forward to this trip!
  8. My first time in Nassau was just last month. What I did was The Weekend Cruiser's walking tour of Nassau. The only drawback was it was Sunday so hardly anything was open, but it gave me a great experience walking in the city away from the main strip and seeing some things I probably wouldn't have seen before. I got off the ship right around 7:30am, so it was quiet, not horribly hot, and very few people were out and about. I'm just going to post a few non-tourist-spot photos that I took along my walking tour way. I would love to do this again when it's not so hot! Above: The street in front of Graycliff, facing east Above: Cool stairs I saw along the route Above: I can't remember what this building was, but I took this photo to remember that this was where I saw the largest rat I've ever seen in my entire life scamper by!
  9. I looked up "cruise skateboarding" and actually got a semi-related hit: https://www.redbull.com/us-en/videos/the-med-cruise-teaser It'd definitely be more interesting if it was onboard!
  10. Absolutely agreed!
  11. Same here, I started noticing that yesterday. I've been definitely getting those purchases in, with my eye towards mid-November's pre-Black Friday sales!
  12. @OasisQueen if you're super curious about what your chances are for getting the Royal Up, you can run through a mock booking on the Royal Caribbean website to see how many rooms are still available in the categories you bid on. That will show you how many rooms are still available. The other thing to remember is that this is a tool for Royal Caribbean to use in order to not lose money on last minute cancellations. Good luck!
  13. After final payment date this spring, RC let my TA know that we still owed $24.73. Checking my credit card statements, RC had refunded that exact amount just a few weeks prior. So, we put it through again. Refunded again, and RC still demanded payment. It got to be comical how many times my TA tried to pay off the balance and how many times it kicked back. TA finally put through payment the day before my cruise (because it was taking exactly 2 days to refund back) so that we wouldn't have any issues getting on board, and (of course) it refunded again. Didn't try again after that, and RC hasn't said anything about it either. TL;dr - RC's system can be so screwy, I'm glad I have my TA to resolve issues!
  14. Having not visited the "old" port in Nassau, when I was there for the first time a few weeks ago, I can't tell you how many people I walked by that just kept saying (with wonder in their voices) "it's so NICE! it's BEAUTIFUL! this is SO much better than before!" so now I'm incredibly curious what it was like before. I agree here - just explore the new port area. It's really beautiful. I was amazed at how clean and nice the restrooms were!
  15. I specifically remember seeing coolers in front of all the day/beach beds on South Beach. I remember because I thought, "oh, that's great! if I come back and decide to do a bed, I'll have some water too." There are roving waiters that will come by for your drink orders, so you don't have to get up and get it yourself. Food, though, you'll probably have to get on your own, but if you have the reserved day bed, you don't have to worry about someone taking your spot.
  16. @Ampurp85 do you know if UDP can be used at the pay restaurant on Perfect Day? Captain something or another, I believe...
  17. I just had my first experience at PDCC a few weeks ago. I can't tell you how nice it was to have not bought anything in advance because it left me free to explore the island and spend my time wherever I wanted to based on what I saw that was interesting at the time. Hung out on South Beach for a while, visited snack shack, wandered through chill island and found a hammock to spend some time in!, visited the straw market, took lots of pictures in various places, and enjoyed watching the fish swimming around the dock/ pier. Just my two cents!
  18. @Floatingby I was at PDCC several weeks ago when they were two ships there at the same time. I decided to go back to the ship around 1:00 p.m. I noticed that the Oasis lagoon pool was packed, as well as most of the chairs around it. However, right next to it, the Harbor Beach and a little further down on Chill Island had plenty of open seating. So, like others have said, you'll find seating no matter what time you get off the ship, it just might not be exactly in a prime spot.
  19. It is my understanding that the arrival time at the port and the "gangway open" times are different because the ship has to clear customs for the port/country. You might be able to get off a little bit earlier than 1330, but a little bit might be 1320. You might get delayed and not be able to get off until 1400 - who knows. So, I don't think you can get off the ship earlier via request.
  20. I think I'm 95% clear on how the UDP works. My final question is: If I want to do lunch, can I utilize the UDP at any restaurant that is a la carte (e.g. Playmakers, Johnny Rockets) ANY day of my cruise, not just sea days? Thanks in advance!
  21. I was just trying this hack tonight and found it wasn't working. After some finagling, I found that the web address you need is this: https://www.royalcaribbean.com/account/cruise-planner?bookingId=0000000&shipCode=XX&sailDate=YYYYMMDD The one by @Xaa up above includes "category/onboardactivities" but that wasn't working for me, so I logged into my account, found the address for current cruises I have booked, and compared. Voila, a change. Hope this helps someone. I'm having problems getting it to actually SHOW anything, but that's the address I've found that works.
  22. We did a private tour in Cozumel this summer through Viator. It was excellent - just the driver plus my family, and we crafted our schedule before we left the port area. It was a spectacular day. I'd recommend that so you can have some choice over what happens! This is the one we did: https://www.viator.com/tours/Cozumel/Custom-Private-Cozumel-Jeep-Tour-All-Inclusive-Private-Tour/d632-9862P2 (the only recommendation I found via other reviews was to make sure you ask for an air-conditioned Jeep).
  23. I've flown out of LGB too, but my hesitation in recommending it is because if there's a delay/cancellation, there aren't a huge amount of other options like you would have at LAX. I won't fly in/out of LGB in the winter because of it. However, the airport is AMAZING, definitely love the casualness of it!
  24. The ports (Long Beach and LA) are just on the other side of a bridge from each other. RC sails out of San Pedro (LA), but some other cruise lines use Long Beach. That being said, San Pedro port is approximately 10 minutes from downtown Long Beach. I recommend either of the Hyatts that are in Long Beach for your night before departure. The Uber/Lyft from LAX is a bit steep ($70) to get out to Long Beach, but the ride to port is around $10 and only about 10 minutes depending on traffic. Enjoy your cruise!
  25. Shirley ginger!
