  1. I've never had luck using the check in icon at the bottom (always get an error, different ones depending on os), had to go to the person icon at the top on that page there is checkin section that worked for me
  2. Last cruise they had multiple lines outside the terminal based on boarding time, they were checking and directing passengers to the correct line
  3. Mine was pending a few day ago, but it's went through officially
  4. I've been on ships where I departed earlier, some departed on time and some up to an hour late. My office in the Toronto area. I intentionally go in and leave outside of rush hour traffic (if there really is a thing). I can drive 50 times, the first 49 I have no hurry to get home and it's smooth sailing. The one time I need to be home and they were be 50 accidents, highways closures, you name it. I guess what I'm saying is this thing called Murphy's Law, I seen it in action and prepare for it
  5. I would have waited to until after the Dr appointment to cancel myself (at least then you'd have a medical form). Not sure when your symptoms started and when your cruise leaves, but you might have be over it by the time the cruise departs.
  6. Just checked, nothing really spectacular that would convince me to purchase anything.
  7. https://www.cruisehive.com/mobility-scooter-causes-fire-scare-on-po-cruise-ship/114320 Seeing a battery for a mobility scooter had a issue on P&O recently (and that's a medical device). I'd doubt they'd let e-bikes on
  8. Definitely seems like ChatGPT or something like that (somebody stirring the pot). Sorry but I'm in my 50's and don't like rap either, but I don't think I've ever heard rap on any ship I've been on yet. The music by the pool is geared towards the younger crowd, but throughout the ship the vast majority seems to music that came out when I was in elementary school. They literally have a 70 disco night party and a 80's night. Same goes with talking on a cell phone, not sure I've ever seen anybody talk on their phone on a ship (you'd have one heck of a phonebill)
  9. Last cruise they had multiple lines based on checkin time. They checked the set sail pass and directed you to the proper line
  10. I’d imagine for everybody who wants a traditional cruise, there are a thousand who don’t. I don’t like having to do everything on app, but I get it.
  11. Was looking at that cruise but decided against it since it was on the Grandeur, might have to revisit
  12. Thats the one on the left hand side just before you hit the main gate? How is the shuttle getting off going back to the car?
  13. Definitely recommend doing as much as possible before arriving at the port. It takes about 5-7 minutes to enter all the info per passenger. Worth the effort while breezing through the terminal.
  14. Been let off early,on time and late wouldn't count on any precise time. Last cruise we were doing carry off, was suppose to start at 6:45, since we had a person in a wheelchair, to avoid elevator congestion we went down at 6:10. As we were getting off the elevators the crew members said "Ok we cleared" and started disembarking, was in my car by around 6:20
  15. I’m not, but my youngest son seems to have picked it up. Not sure where in the house he put them though lol .
  16. Kind of like it. Options on the last 2 cruises have been pretty limited at the time. Something that can provide more options and I’d expect minimal waste
  17. We've went many times during hurricane season. Last time we went in Oct/Nov, we had no issue getting chairs at all, could almost sit where ever you want. For the most part the weather was fine. We did miss a port due to a hurricane (Grand Cayman) so we ended up staying in Labadee 2 days. They know well in advance and will adjust accordingly. Unless there is something you really want to do, kind of a once in a lifetime thing I found it pretty easy to adjust. Heck took us on our 3d try to actually get to PDCC
  18. I'm still in my working phase, but will probably start transitioning over to at least partial retirement in 2025/26 (when we're 55), so my answer is more because of that. Right now we only do about 1 cruise a year, but in 2025 we plan on upping that. Part of the big cost for us is travel to the port. We've started to look at B2B's. Also looking at Europe and Australia. So maybe get to around 4-6 cruises a year. Not sure what that'll translate into
  19. Will definitely give it a look. I'm in the Hamilton area, about a 3 hr drive to DTW. With Pearson one problem around here is traffic is bad from 6am to 8pm, especially the 401. One accident and it might take me 3+ hrs just to get to Pearson. That's one of the reasons we tend to go out of Buffalo, other is it's usually around $500 a person cheaper. Also like having to go through customs in the comfort of my car rather than standing in line for an hour. We want to do some west coast cruises, but the connecting flights out of Buffalo tend not to go through Chicago or Detroit, most seem to be through Boston or NY.
  20. Out of curiosity how is flying out of Detroit? I'm midpoint between Toronto and Buffalo, but have thought about going out of DTW. We tend to go out of Buffalo, but they're all connecting flights. Don't want to go out of Toronto as it's a nightmare (have to drive by it to get to my office and travelled business out of it)
  21. Airlines I go with whatever is convenient at the time (even when I travelled for work could never really accumulate enough point for anything worthwhile). Hotels they all seems to be owned by one of three companies and we usually stick to one company, also as an added bonus I can book personal travel through my companies travel tool and get the corporate rate (usually a discounted rate and perks)
  22. Haven't had any issues with the food (will note I've never eaten in the Windjammer for dinner). Last cruise only disappointment from the MDR was the chicken parm. In the WJ we usually do lunch, but I always get a salad and sandwich (really can't mess that up)
  23. I’ve had FCC a few times and they always been very upfront about the expiration date
  24. Things that have been mentioned 1) A lot of walking and taking the stairs. Until I started wearing a step counter I didn't realize how much I actually walked on the cruise 2) I try to be disciplined at breakfast and lunch, allowing me to indulge at dinner. Not as hard as I originally thought, much easier than at home. It's pretty easy to grab a salad for lunch
  25. Haven’t seen it with a junior suite, but have seen it a few times on a balcony
