Anyone Get Drink Package for Convenience?
J_Keeble replied to WannaCruise's topic in Royal Caribbean Discussion
I've done 10 cruises and always had the drinks package. I keep toying with the idea of not having one but never bite the bullet. To me it is about convenience for sure! Do I find myself drinking for the sake of it? YES but i'm on holiday so have a good time doing it. I have the drinks package for my upcoming transatlantic on explorer for 14 days, this was "included" in our cruise fare thanks to a UK promotion. the drinks package is £44x14 = £616 and the cruise fare was around £1000 pp for that sailing so really was a great offer. but it certainly is nice to not have a big bill at the end and to just try different drinks. -
Do you know every Royal Caribbean ship name?

I got all 27 in 2.34 minutes. Grandeur eluded me for a little while though. -
Are Dubai 2019-2020 cruises going to be cancelled?
J_Keeble replied to J_Keeble's topic in Royal Caribbean News and Rumors
Sorry I put it in the wrong topic group, didn’t know where to put it. hmmm I haven’t heard anything yet from royal but the first sailings are in December I believe -
Being from England I’ve been following the Iran issues with certain vessels being captured and controlled by the Iranian government and trouble with pirates. I spotted his link stating P&O have cancelled all their sailings. It makes me wonder if royal will follow?! https://www.cruisecotterill.com/cruise-news/po-cruises-cancels-all-dubai-and-arabian-gulf-cruises

Allure 2020 Upgrade Details Announced
J_Keeble replied to twangster's topic in Royal Caribbean News and Rumors
oooo how exciting -
Im have been looking and this may have already been discussed but the last Oasis of the Seas sailing out of New York is 25th October 2020 so that returns 1st November to New York. Oasis then has a 7 night Caribbean from Fort Laurderdale on the 8th November, I'm wondering why there is no repositioning cruise from new York to Florida? Did I see someone say that you cant just do America to America? Although surely they would visit some ports like CocoCay? EDIT : I had a duration filter on and there is in fact a 4 day leaving November from Fort Lauderdale

There is nothing announced yet and don't expect them to be "Amped" I would think they would get light refurbishment of carpets and minor fittings in the future essential dry docks.
-
in England I get 25 days plus bank holidays which accumulate to an extra 8 days through the year. I wish it was more! roll on retirement when I can do a cruise at a moments notice haha, many more years before that happens
-
I've now edited the dates best I can :)
-
I just like looking ahead of what to expect

I took a few minutes to see when the upcoming dry docks are scheduled and this is what I found. With the below take into account some days will be taken up getting the ship to and from dry dock ports and to and from the USA - Europe region . Oasis of the Seas 2019 - It appears her final voyage before dry dock is a Western med that leaves 15th September 2019, dry dock seems to be 22nd September with her first voyage back over the pond being November 24th Voyager of the Seas 2019 It appears her final voyage before dry dock is Hong Kong to Singapore that leaves 3rd September 2019, dry dock seems to be 10th September till 21st October 2019 Allure of the seas 2020 - It appears her final voyage before dry dock is a transatlantic that leaves 1st March 2020, dry dock seems to be 13th march till 10th may. Explorer of the Seas 2020 - It appears her final voyage before dry dock is a Southern Caribbean that leaves 21st February 2020, dry dock seems to be 1st March till 7th may for her European season. Freedom of the Seas 2020 It appears her final voyage before dry dock is a Southern Caribbean that leaves 5th January 2020, dry dock seems to be 12th January till 8th March. Adventure of the Seas 2021 - The schedule are not out yet beyond April 2021 with no sign of dry dock in those first 4 months Liberty of the Seas 2021 - The schedule are not out yet beyond April 2021 with no sign of dry dock in those first 4 months

its so hard to think that one day Oasis of the Seas will become scrap, will that ever happen or are these newer ships designed to last a lot lot longer?
-
Does anyone know when Quantums details were released compared to when she was ready to set sail? although I suppose we are still around 3 years away from Icon of the Seas ( if that's going to be her name) be finished.
-
looking at it makes me excited!
-
would you say all of the designing has been completed by now?
-
wow! I just wish we had some information on her, so curious. also has the royal ships on order page been updated? @Matt I always like looking at that to see what we have to look forward to in the ship building world and what rumours we can get.

Packing for Jan cruise leaving NJ, going to Bahamas?
J_Keeble replied to kittysoul's topic in Royal Caribbean Discussion
I sailed in November 2017 and I believe NYC had its coldest winter for some years or that they said it was never normally this cold in October but it certainly was wooly hat weather. I wished I packed a bigger coat! but departing from NY it was cold, to the extent where you would need a jumper to be on top deck. Being English me and grace my fiancé endured the cold and had the whole pool deck / hot tub to ourselves for the first couple of days. by day 2 the weather started to warm and day 3 was bright sunshine. if you can get robes from the ship I would certainly recommend that. @kittysoul when are you going? just seen its January haha, I would certainly suggest a few jumpers. :) -
Anthem of the seas in 2015 I think it was, just a short European 3 nighter , since then I've been on about 10 cruises. all with royal Caribbean, I cant get enough! one day I might be pinnacle haha! the cruise ship was amazing and will always be one of my favourites as it was my first ship.

strange the pictures before you boarded the cruise work for me at work but all the ones on the cruise don't, would there be a reason for this @twangster -

? What Will The Oasis Get During Dry Dock ?
J_Keeble replied to FlowBro Ty's topic in Royal Caribbean News and Rumors
yes they do haha! we love a good cup of Tea :P -
I was on Rhapsody last month out of the med and it was fantastic! michelle was the cruise director and he was on symphony last year so certainly knows what he is doing. the ship has fantastic crew and I couldn't find anything wrong with the entire ship. great food and drink and the ship still seemed in very good condition all over.

How will Odyssey of the Seas be different?
J_Keeble replied to J_Keeble's topic in Royal Caribbean News and Rumors
the indoor pool has a retractable roof and I suspect they can use it? However I have never seen it retracted.
