  1. For visa, here are 2 sites that can help you out. https://visaguide.world/ - this is a good site to learn about visas and how to get a visa. You will be getting a 'tourist' visa. https://travel.state.gov/content/travel/en/us-visas/visa-information-resources/americans-traveling-abroad.html - here you can find out if a country requires a visa. Just enter the country's name in the box on the left side. All visas will require a valid passport and 1 to 4 blank pages in the passport. When I went to Brazil back in 2016, I had to get a tourist visa (It is not required today). To do so, I had to visit the Brazilian Embassy in Boston, MA. My best advice: do your research. Many countries have laws that may seem strange to us.
  2. There are stairs that one can use. But depending on which deck you are on and how heavy your luggage is, elevator is usually the way to go.
  3. Or if anyone is only on their device briefly, you can share the Internet for 1 device between multiple devices and people. It just means that only 1 device can be logged on at a time. This is what my husband and I did. He likes to be on it continuously. I will get on it first thing in the morning and right before I go to bed at night. He uses it between my times. Here is the issue when 2 people are trying to share 1 device internet: If I log on while my husband is on, he will be kicked off. Done that once or twice. Opps
  4. How do you find out about charter cruises?
  5. Going back to the OP's question: Yes, you can "order for her". Anyone can order multiple apps and they usually come out at the same time (unless they also change that rule).
  6. Can't one just use their phone to call for additional towels or ice? I thought there was a number for housekeeping. I am also sure the attendants are willing to provide you with a little bit extra (like towels or ice) if you let them know on the first day.
  7. Carry it with you during embarkation. They will take the bottle from you and mark it with your name and room #. Then the night before debarkation, the bottle will be delivered to your stateroom. Happy early birthday to your wife. I think I remember my 50th. LOL!
  8. Yes, you can link the reservations yourself but you need your TA to switch names on a reservation.
  9. I too would skip Izumi. I can get great sushi since I am so close to the seacoast and know of a great sushi restaurant. I have eaten at all 4 restaurants. I thought that they were all great but I am not a picky eater. When choosing a restaurant, I look for items on the menu that I can't get from home. Since I live in New England, that usually means great cuts of beef.
  10. I would also think the later you wait for breakfast, the more likely the WJ or MDR will run out of the food you want. If you want to have a leisurely time at port - have you thought about grabbing a breakfast once you are off the ship?
  11. Any information or pictures are better than none. Thanks for taking time out from your vacation to keep us desk jockeys dreaming.
  12. Ha Ha. I am the opposite. Since I am no where close to Diamond level and can't afford suites, cruising without CK does not affect me. I do agree with you about the missing sour cream at El Loco Fresh but as long as I can grab some from WJ, I would be ok. What would turn me off of cruising an older ship would be the sewage smell. UGH!
  13. When I am trying to figure out which ports I want to visit, I usually 'Google' the town name. You can find several sites with the top 10 things to do at a port. By looking at a few different sites (like TripAdvisor or Viator), I can figure out if anything interests me. I don't usually ask for suggestions from others because what they may like might not be what I like. For example: Arts? History? Activities/Thrills? Food/wines? Bus tours? Good luck making your choices.
  14. I tried using the app but my screen turned yellow from my highlighter.
  15. I thought you could do that as long as one person on the original reservation stays on that reservation.
  16. You can do a 'mock' booking to see what is available on your cruise. Yes, I did find 1 cruise in March on Oasis that was totally booked with the exception of the Interior rooms. The price difference could caused by how close you are from the cruise date. But when I looked at the cruises in March that had ocean view balcony, none of them were above $2000. So I can't see how you were quoted a $3000 and $7000 difference. Did you mean $300 and $700? Or was the person you were talking to quoting you suite prices? Either way, I am sure you will have a great time on your cruise. Bring along ear plugs - that is what I use when I travel with a family member who snores.
  17. I agree with @whitsmom. I went on a cruise around South America. It was great to have my own viewing area where I did not have to fight the crowds up on deck. Since I am from New England, I am used to colder weather. I would just dress in warmer clothes. If it gets really bad, I would move the chairs inside to enjoy the views.
  18. Here is a funny story about my parents I would like to share with you. My parents were hosting several couples at their house before they headed off to dinner. My mother had 1 too many drinks (and she was not a big drinker). So when they got to the restaurant and was asked what they wanted to drink, my father told the waitress his wife has had too much to drink already and to get her just an ice tea. Well, you guessed it. It was a Long Island Ice Tea. My mother took one sip of it and claimed it was the best ice tea she ever had. Of course, my father became suspicious and asked to taste her drink. He immediately asked for the recipe. That was their introduction to Long Island Ice Tea.
  19. Can you just see how long his/her LIVE blog could be if he/she were to start one? LOL!
  20. That is true. My TA always sends me my luggage tags.
