Hello All! 4 of us are looking for the best way to get from our Fort Lauderdale Hotel to the Port of Miami on Friday.. our current plan is to shove the 4 of us in to an Uber X, but wondering if anyone else had a better or more cost effective alternative? Thanks!

SOO... In theory, since I have a Premium Package booked, I should be upgraded to a Deluxe Package once I board on Friday, yes? Not that I mind either way.. but the coffees being included would be a slight additional convenience if I choose to want one... also having the sparkling water included would be a big plus.

You can ask the bartenders what wine they have available, and offerings may vary by bar. You can most certainly order glasses of wine at dinner as well... and mimosas with breakfast! :) I was on Indy earlier this year with a Premium Drink Package, and never had trouble finding a drink at any bar. :)

For those kind of excursions you can usually get away with a SEALED packaged food.. so like, almonds, protein bar, etc. to keep you held over. As far as cruising while vegetarian... you have NO worries. Make sure you talk to the MDR after embarkation, and while there is always a vegetarian selection on the menu they will also go out of their way to make something special. Many people on these boards RAVE about the Indian curries they'll whip up for you. The Windjammer is also filled with incredible selections.. I promise you, you won't starve. If you're interested in a really great veggie burger, hit Johnny Rockets one day. :) Sorrento's is also a great easy quick stop for pizzas (seriously, cheese and potato pizza is tasty), and then cafe promenade usually has some type of vegetarian selection. I assure you, you'll be fine. :)

I've done the Barrier Reef Snorkel and Island Getaway... and it was absolutely delightful. I would highly recommend that to anyone. My one complaint was that as a vegetarian, food options on the island were severely lacking... mostly nachos and burgers... But they did serve local beer and coconuts that they would top off with rum.

As someone who is overall a big fan of the Premium package I'm pretty okay with this... but curious to see if they keep the 20% discount going.

I think what kcjarvis said that they could stream Netflix/use VPN/check Facebook and stuff fine, but it wouldn't work for Periscope. So, it SHOULD be fine, but not sure about Facetime functionality or that type of thing.

Drink package? YES. Oh wait that wasn't the question and this has already been answered.

We had our cabin assigned shortly after placing a final payment... but I'm not sure if it's typical.

I'm curious to see your results on this.. I'd LOVE to be able to bring bombers of nice beer on board rather than wine.

I guess the biggest consideration here is do you want to have the Promenade, Ice Rink, Flow Rider, and some of the larger ship features that Independence offers, or the more intimate smaller-of-the-big-ships-and-get-to-see-the-water/Centrum experience on Brilliance? I would lean towards Brilliance, but I also really enjoy some of the smaller ships, and Brilliance has everything I like about bigger ships and still has a smaller ship feel. Independence is a Freedom class ship, will feel much larger. It's a win-win either way you go.

I'm more worried about weather messing with my flight in to port than I am about cruising around a hurricane. Royal works hard to keep its crew and passengers safe, and even right now lots of itinerary changes due to the current storm. Nothing to be worried about. :)
