  1. That's a really cool site! Thanks for sharing it, I see how that can be very useful.
  2. I'm sure others have noticed this as well, but you really need to keep an eye on the "deals" they have. We've purchased a few things through the cruise planner on line and I've noticed they'll change the % of the sale price but the actual price has just been adjusted so it seems you're getting a deal. For example, we purchased the DDP w/ 30% off and got a decent price. My BIL purchased it when it was buy one get one at 50% off. We actually got it cheaper because the "per day" price had been changed. Same as the internet package, we got one package at one price (10% off) and then purchased another that ended up being less than the first package but the it wasn't "on sale". What I'm trying to say, is that you really need to be aware of the overall price, the daily price, etc and the "sale price". It's not always a saie or a better deal when they run these. Just my thoughts on it!
  3. We use the passport card since we're not needing to fly. We haven't got our REAL ID's done yet, just regular driver's license.
  4. @WAAAYTOOO, have fun!! That was the cruise we were supposed to go on before we changed it to the Wonder leaving December 3rd. Would have been great to meet you!
  5. Welcome! I think it's about a 20 minute drive to Magen's Bay. We did an excursion that made a couple stops and then went to Magen's Bay. It included the Sky Ride, Drake's Seat and Magen's Bay. I don't remember what the cost was, it was May 2022. Some people suggest booking excursions through Tripadvisor or other sites like that. It's a beautiful area and definitely worth it. There was a little restaurant there and you could rent beach chairs too. Have fun!!
  6. YES!! @Matt, that was the "gentle ferry ride" that we had! I was questioning my life at that point!
  7. Agreed! It was absolutely gorgeous and I'm glad we had the opportunity to see them. However, the "gentle ferry ride" was anything but, followed by the hour plus long bus drive to and from with a lunch of a warm tuna pack and pop was less than stellar. I understand it's a bit of a drive but it did make a long day. Not to mention, the bus driver forgot all our documentation in the bus when we got to the ruins. This resulted in another delay before we could get in and then that shortened our time to walk around. But again, thankful we got to at least say we got to see it!
  8. This is our first time getting the DDP (price was right), I'm loving seeing all these drinks! Think I'm going to plan my drinks as you do! Can't wait to try some of these! Thanks @PG Cruiser again for putting in the time and energy on this!
  9. My kids are grown (29 & 25) and we've taken them on many vacations. If I ever caught them or heard them treating someone like that, they would have gotten a "what for". IMO, I feel some parents don't parent as much as they should these days. I would like to think that teaching respect isn't a thing of the past.
  10. Moderation and what the others said! Agreed, it can be very hard with all that good food we don't normally have. I don't usually see any weight gain but some days may feel a little more bloated from eating more than normal. Good thing is, there's always a lot of walking involved in cruising. Enjoy your trip and try not to worry too much about it!!
  11. @OCSC Mike yes, we were on Harmony last year, so your analogy is perfect! Thank you! @chodnett thank you again! That's one of the things I was wondering about was crowds. And even on Harmony, we never felt overcrowded. Thank you both! 62 days to go!!
  12. Thank you for this! We're going on the Wonder December 3 and this is great information. I'm excited to check out the WJ after hearing your thoughts on it. Honestly, I love going down there, not just for the food but also the people watching! Does the ship have an overcrowded feel or is it pretty open?
  13. @Ryan79, no way I'm watching that ship leave without us! As much as I'd love to check it out, I agree that it would be pushing it to be able to get back. Thank you!
  14. @WAAAYTOOO, yes, the more I think about it maybe it's not the best idea. I wish we were there a little bit longer than 2pm. I think maybe we'd be a little rushed. There's always next time!!
  15. @OCSC Mike, that was my other thought. It's a good amount of time but not really. And I know I'd be stressed about making it back by 2pm. Still thinking about it though!
  16. @CruiseGus, thank you! I appreciate your response. I'm going to look into it some more and try to convince my group it's worth doing!
  17. We're to Costa Maya the beginning of December and I'm considering going here. For those have that have been, what's your honest opinion of the place. What time are you typically picked up and what time to they bring you back? Is it based on the time we're in port? We dock @ 7am and leave @ 2pm. Thanks in advance!
  18. @tonyfsu21 Total dumpster on Carnival! We cruised on them ONCE - never again!
  19. If you don't have the UDP, is it possible to go to Wonderland just for dessert? We don't want to have dinner there but there were some desserts that looked worth trying. Obviously, it would be something we'd pay a la carte for and I'm guessing it's also by availability.
  20. Room has been changed! Special thanks to @recogneyes for giving us a simple solution! Thanks all that answered, truly appreciated!
  21. @recogneyesThank you so much for this suggestion! Yes, he was originally booked on 14 with a JS.
  22. @Pattycruise Thank you! And thank you to all of you that commented. He's also Diamond level, not that it should make a difference. Yes, I understand different decks aren't going to make a difference, but it's more the principle of the matter. No, he didn't use a TA this time but plans to use ours next time.
  23. We're going on Wonder leaving December 3rd. My brother in law booked his and his daughter rooms before we booked ours. We ended up picking our room based on where they were staying, JS deck 14. My brother in law needed to change his daughter's room and called RC to do it (this was back in April). When I went into our trip planner (our cruises are linked) I saw that he wasn't on deck 14 anymore but had been moved to deck 10 (still a JS but wrong deck). Apparently, when he called them, RC screwed up and changed his room and not his daughters. I let him know his room had been changed April 27, he's called RC multiple times since then and they still have not fixed the issue. When he called them one time, they told him there was nothing they could do, the room was already booked. Each time, they admit they made the error but he's getting nowhere with getting his original room reassigned. At this point, he would just like to be put back on deck 14. It's been 5 months and he's still fighting with them. He was on another cruise last week and went to guest services to see if they could assist. They gave him some contact information and he tried again. Still no change. We booked this cruise, making a point to be on the same deck, to honor a wish of his parent's (they both passed before they were able to go on this family cruise). I guess I'm just not sure what we can do at this point. Any suggestions would be appreciated... Yes, he's tried pretty much every number they've given him. Thanks for listening...(probably won't see any answers until tomorrow AM, I sleep "toddler hours", down early and up at 330am!)
  24. Going on the Wonder in December, staying in a JS for the first time! We're hoping to have dinner at CK at least one or two nights. Basically, I'm looking forward to all the food in general!!
  25. @TXcruzer I was wondering the same thing myself. @WAAAYTOOO agree with you too!
